  1. It doesn't change much 14 gets you well into the 5-8 group 13 gets you into 6-8 12 gets you 7-10 Frankly I want 17....
  2. Mitch Brown.. out for a week and Joel Smith appears !!
  3. 'Tis but a flesh wound.... Dangerfield's lawyer has encouraged the jury not to place too much stock in the fact Kelly suffered a broken nose. "How many players have you played with who have played with broken noses?" he asks. He argues the nose is a "sensitive and vulnerable part of the body" and "the broken nose tends to show us the site of the accidental contact between heads" but is not an indicator of impact.
  4. Unfortunately the ability to track who sat where is an integral part of the covid plan and is used to justify the large crowd numbers. Certainly won't change before the bye but fingers crossed for the second half Perhaps however sitting in your reserved seats will be allowed as they can be tracked
  5. Petty played well down back in the Casey game (see match report). Is there room for him up forward? https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/886758
  6. agree but is there a forward spot perhaps?
  7. Petty called oot for special mention ... Is there a spot and where against the saints
  8. the covid plan seems to be about pods in the sense that you construct a pod of say 40-50 and then have a gap between the next pod. Each pod can contain strangers but the rationale is that infection is limited to the pod. Works okay at 50% but gets harder at 75%. Conversely at 20% like our game on Saturday the pod system can create unneccesary crowding Blame the computer algorithms that the ground manager is using. It was ridiculous to see level 4 unoccupied. Even level 3 was sparse.
  9. Yep we win if we kick straight and they don't. BTW Freo missed several easy ones
  10. Norf will go almost winless throughout the season. and we are lucky enough to get them in a Hobart blizzard. I hope the Tassie study looks at who will play the new team if any in Tassie. Like the trip to Geelong will we be the usual default Melbourne based bunny
  11. They never cared about winning the tap might be more correct.
  12. watched the Hawks v Bombers game for a few minutes last night. Hawks still using their tactic of having a non kicking player bump the man on the mark. Allows the kicker an extra ten metre of run and also allows the kicker to clear the receiving pack. Because the man on the mark must stand still the tactic is even more easily employed than in previous years.
  13. straight out of the MFCSS playbook... It has taken me three years to develop an evolutionary defense mechanism to these classic Essington antics. I no longer feel anything
  14. Viney if fit presumably for Sparrow I suspect Hibberd needs another run at Casey
  15. The club also has to realise that it is competing with the TV product of other clubs. If you watch say 2 or 3 TV games your desire to physically attend is impacted if you think it's going to be a lacklustre game. Many of us have just got tired of MFC mediocrity (often worse than mediocre)
  16. May Lever Petracca Spargo Oliver T Mac
  17. Couldn't agree more. Having no one on the top decks was madness. If people had been allowed to find their own seat (take a note of the seat number for tracing if necessary) life would have been fine. Seemed that they deliberately put people into 100 person pods and then a break.
  18. The overwhelming positive out of today's match was the performance of TMac. His performance over the next four weeks is vital to our season and today he delivered in spades. The tactic of sitting off our midfielders is becoming like the out the back of 2017/2018. Why does everyone else see it but the great Goodwin persists with Max and his Jarmanesque taps. Let's see what happens next week with the Saints.
  19. yes.. just select the play from start option (if the live/from start options are given) and you're away the replays have the pregame comments cut out of them also
  20. it's the easy Gawn counter and we have fallen for it for years..
  21. Gawn with 3 possessions and Jackson with two
  22. it stays there for months. The diff is that after a day or so it goes into replay mode which is lower quality video than the 1080 of match day
  23. Oliver hasn't got a touch
  24. I used the term CEO in the business sense. Goodwin is the CEO of football and therefore the most powerful person int he club. Pert is an administrator Strange beasts..footy clubs
  25. Yze and Williams are a message for Goodwin... In that sense the group is not cohesive No CEO would put up with it which shows how tenuous Goodwin's position is. Anyway as you say early days and he may surprise
