We appear to be interchanging Jackson and Weid on the bench rather than one resting forward. Perhaps we will see a change

Was looking at the national TV ratings for AFL. Thursday night almost equal to Friday night at just over 900k. On Saturday night ratings drop to mid 600k. You can see why we have Thursday night games

Worst Offensive Team in the Last Month
- What They Are Saying at Springfield
2021 figures not released yet but in 2020 of the total variable distribution of $43M we got around $3M and Brisbane got $5M. All clubs got the base distribution of around $10M. All save 4 or 5 got a decent top up by way of variable distribution. We got roughly the same as Carlton, North and the Bulldogs. If we are at base distribution level for 2021 I'd be surprised and it would be a first for a very long time.- TEAMS: Rd 15 vs Brisbane
I hope that the inclusion of Bedford allows Pickett to play closer to goal. We need some movement in that forward line- What They Are Saying at Springfield
Brisbane like us rely heavily on the AFL for financial support. I wonder how they could afford a decent training facility. Is it in the same league as Essendon, West Coast, Hawthorn (if completed) etc- Farewell Luke Jackson
LJ's relative drop in form is not great for us from the contract renewal aspect. At year's opening the pitch would have been ... sign on at MFC for 2 or 3 years at a very good salary...enjoy your success and possibly some more premierships... then cross to another club on a mega deal and go from there. Now Luke might be quietly wondering...Will the mega deal still be there in 3 years? Getting it wrong might cost him around $7M so I sympathise with his uncertainty.- Could Josh Frydenberg be the new AFL CEO?
Power.... it's addictive- Farewell Luke Jackson
$10 M over seven years is possible if you think the salary cap will almost double in that period. One hell of a risk though- Tasmanian AFL Team
In reality the only advantage they get is not playing 3-4 games interstate. Perhaps you make it 2 games outside Victoria and Tasmania and then it becomes very close to a "normal" Victorian team. Playing at Docklands is not a great advantage.- CHANGES: Rd 15 vs Brisbane
If Daw is fit he has to come in just to do the simple bounce grunt. On ground time will be say 70%. The M Brown experiment has not worked. Hunt was a good forward in 2019 (?) so that's a possibility. Otherwise it's Weideman. Cannot see enough fire power in Chandler or Bedford Replacing Sparrow with Dunstan is a possibility but it doesn't excite me. Down back I'll leave the Rivers/Bowey discussion to the selectors- Farewell Luke Jackson
Not Quite Like most players he's waiting for the new salary caps It's always been that way- Soft cap to increase by $500,000 - where would you spend it?
Would be surprised if Goodwin's contract did not have an upward review clause dealing with a relaxation of the soft cap. Money wise $500k doesn't buy too many full timers. My guess is at least half will go into player welfare- POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
I have posted on this subject before. Assuming everyone was fit a player like Joel Smith is the perfect sub. Coaches seem to think of them merely as a set of fresh legs rather than how do I strategically manage the injury risk equation Going forward I can see Turner in this role. When playing VFL he should play a quarter as a forward just to get an idea Time for Picket to play closer to goal and thus be at the drop. If not try Bedford which means ANB out probably.- POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Petty should not have played We were plain dumb not to rotate some players through the Eagles/North rounds. Rivers should have been the medi-sub- POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
6 goals to one final quarter Not great... but we lost it in the first three quarters- GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
