  1. Not sure how our guys rate but last week with the Coca Cola incident they revealed that Ronaldo makes more off social media than he does from playing football. In the influencer world you need around 100k followers before you're at first base. Even then you are not a great earner. Of course this can change if you have a specialist following (highest paid youtube ads for example are for financial products). Then there's personal merchandising and cash donations such as Patreon. It's certainly a space to watch. If you were a star player for say the Crows or the Eagles it could be a goer. In Melbourne I would think it much tougher. Perhaps 4 or 5 star players from different clubs doing a Front Bar type show on youtube might sell.
  2. Assuming there's a Casey game you might be right. Playing Mitch Brown is the conservative play or even Bedford. On the other hand Brown has now "been building" for 11-12 weeks so you wonder whether another week makes much difference.
  3. not exactly T Mac, Wedemand and Ben Brown groupings Most if not all of those groupings include a Fritsch like player who we also have.
  4. The issue has always been that you can't have three highly paid forwards on your list. Long term I would prefer Weideman to stay but increasingly it seems he is the one to go. That he is out of contract at year's end makes it relatively easy. He may elect to take a one year deal with us or somewhere else in the hope that he can show his wares and demand the big mid career contract. Doubt that any club would offer him more than $400k per year on his present form. We're probably going to need some spare money to keep Jackson at the club at the end of 2022.
  5. Sorry Kev the earliest for no quarantine from Thailand is April and even that is optimistic. The zero crowd would metaphorically lynch any politician who got in front of the herd. International students in January under some hybrid Hotel quarantine scheme is the best we can hope for. Good luck in the land of smiles. I see the vaccines have just started to be rolled out. Slow I know but at least they have started. Interesting to see how long the Phuket sandbox lasts. (India jabbed 8.5M on Monday... their previous reord was 4.5M. If they can maintain 10M plus per day thorugh July and August that would be great.)
  6. was happy for a moment there when I read because of Sydney covid issues, GWS may have to play their game against us in Melboune. Then I realised it was our home game anyway ?
  7. Is there a Casey game at Windy Hill this weekend. Could be a pleasant diversion
  8. Of course... very similar to herding cattle or sheep Perhaps a few kelpies to keep us all in our places may not go astray
  9. Game is on the Sunshine Coast. They have really embraced the Storm. Understandable as Broncos have barely won a game. Mind you it's only around a 10k stadium
  10. Kappa man aka Woolert was from Adelaide and he kicked us off the Delta strain was all ours OD and surprise sursprise they lost the HQ CCTV footage Don't worry mate by the time the Feds ever let us out of this country you will have had a booster and maybe even two. Some States in Canada have also scrapped AZ for the second dose but mainly because they have so much Moderna etc Reading the other day that many of the older Singaporeans were queing up to get the China vax instead of Pfizer because they trusted Chinese traditional medicines. My mates in Thailand are pushing for AZ in front of Sinovac and in Malaysia people are taking anything they can get their hands on. China hits a billion doses in the local arms in the next day or so
  11. that and the China fiasco could do with some scrutiny
  12. North v The Lions Twilight game in Hobart Max 13 with light winds and perhaps some light rain. An upset would be nice
  13. Nothing like rolling outbreaks. Melbourne almost has theirs under control and Sydney starts up. Adelaide or Brisbane next.
  14. Bulldogs lucky to be still in it. Geelong the cleaner team but not quite clicking in the last 70 metres Rowan showing the advantage of a third forward. Why is Hawkins being allowed to ruck against the lesser ruck in the forward line.. just a matter of time
  15. Who'd have thought it 11-2 going into the bye. What a performance For me the highlight has been the overall team performance. A few stand out performances in some games but on balance everyone doing their job and in the main doing it well week in and week out. The Brisbane win was my highlight. It was against a full strength team who were on a winning streak. Bulldogs win was good but I thought their tactics of going wide almost gave us the win. Individually the two players who have impressed me are Jordon and Spargo. Not the best on ground but two relative fringe players who have established themselves firmly within the best 22. So 9 rounds to go..7-2 would be nice guaranteeing top two Would like to see another goal avenue emerging who delivers 20 goals over the remaining rounds. Could it be Bedford or perhaps the great man Spargo. Anyway let's enjoy it because these times may not come again. After all it is an Olympics year and the last time it was in Japan we know what happened.
  16. comes down to where you think Brisbane is going to finish and whether a Geelong win provides an additional buffer allowing Geelong to finish one or two. If you don't think Brisbane can finish 1 or 2 then it's not that important. Similarly if you think Geelong can't finish top 2 then a Dogs win might be better. The Adelaide and Collingwood losses could come back to bite us at seasons end but who knows. If Brisbane finishes 2nd it might be better to finish fourth than third
  17. I assume it will start again the weekend after this coming one perhaps with crowd limits. Would hate to think of living under major restrictions into July ?
  18. I'd play Weid down back for Casey for the next three games and get him involved.
  19. when he plays in front he's easily pushed under the ball
  20. It could have been worse... seriously Imagine if you were at the MCG surrounded by Collingwood supporters watching that game
  21. Darcy Cameron is certainly not a known goalkicker ?
  22. Collingwood footy manager (I think) just on 3AW saying the rebuild is a 3-5 year process. Interesting timeline and you wonder if fans will buy in not to mention players at say age 25.
  23. Chook That quote is "straight to the pool room"
  24. Have always wondered about people who spend so much of their time videoing the game. Went to the Soccer World cup in Russia in 2018. People would video games from start to finish. Sure a minute here and there but whole matches. Whoever would watch them?
  25. Must say I thought that at first but I think he had his forearm between the ball and the ground. It was certainly close
