  1. Sylvia needs to put in a decent season from start to finish. I think he is just another top draft pick who has not delivered to the MFC on expectations. Sometimes he turns up to play and mostly he does not. I am sick of cameos by MFC experienced players. The club will never get off the bottom unless players like Sylvia step up.
  2. For mine - Northey best coach since our last flag. He got together a list who on most occasions turned up to play. He instilled a culture among the players I've yet to witness since. Since Northey, our administrators, coaches and playing list have contributed in one way or another to the bad culture at this club. Enter Mark Neeld. Everything I have seen so far gives me confidence he is the man to hang tough with. We need to change the insipid culture and we need to give him time. It's up to the players each week to do their bit because Neeld is working his arse off to get us up and about. His test yet will be to see if he can coach on match day. My scrutiny will mostly be on the playing group during the first few games NOT NEELD. It's the players who must perform and change the culture from insipid to winning. That's who I will critique. We can't keep changing coaches...that much I do know!
  3. Robbo is the most difficult person to listen to on television. His speaking manner is a total put off, all over the place and often incoherent.
  4. It would seem from the outside that the AFL and former AFL identities in the media are putting a ring fence around Essendon regarding the drug allegations. Media, journalists and footy insiders continue to assert the bombers will come out clean. Where is the evidence of that? I get the feeling the insiders of AFL and AFL journos are on the defensive about all this and want it to go away. Can't have our precious dream coaching team at the bombers go under. If this was one of the lesser clubs, bricks would come from all directions. Do the AFL think they are too big to fail? The smell is rotten in Denmark!
  5. I've written Sylvia off. Never lived up to expectations and will always be remembered as an under achiever. Howe needs to kick goals....speccys don't win games. When was the last time we had a true champion who bled for the MFC....we need a Lenny Hayes type.
  6. There are heaps of reasons why we rarely play 4 good quarters of footy including this last game against St Kilda. Talking up a list for future flags is one thing, talking up a list who cannot play 4 qters of good hard footy at the highest level is another. THere is no excuses anymore for fade outs in games........I don't want to hear Neeld mention this again as to where they are as a list. It's AFL at the elite level, they train to play 120 minutes. That's what I want to see in 2013.
  7. Fan bloody tastic. You made my day.
  8. Hmmmmm! There are 6 billion people on this planet and actually every one of them has a basic right to an opinion. Pity some on this site don't get that!
  9. Of course he is a valuable player and our back line often suffers from a B grade midfield, however I want Frawley to show nerves of steel at his stage of his career. His decision making is not as good as some posters here suggest. Frawley is capable of becoming one of the competitions best backs... The MFC back line has Frawley, and Garland, both have been in the system now for long enough yet both still have brain fades every game. I'm just a bit over MFC experienced players making dumb basic mistakes. It's about time Frawley took his game to a higher level. If some posters here take issue with my view, then so be it.
  10. He has physical presence, he has speed, but nothing above the shoulders.
  11. We stuff up so much in the free kicks.. The bloody coaches need to fix this
  12. Was not impressed with him today
  13. Our credibility as an AFL Club has been beaten to a pulp over recent years. Every single day I hear and see the media and those influential footy people slag off about this club. Lets face it, we shoot ourselves most times. There is only one way out of this.....win bloody games.
  14. I am ambivalent about the upcoming footy season. In the past I have got myself up for the new season with always a touch of optimism however, the lack of success is finally eating away at this supporter. We have lots of young talent...and the best of luck to them, however the club still reeks of sustained on field failures and off field dramas. The MFC is still a joke amongst the media and those informed in the industry....this makes me ill with contempt, but where is the success going to come from? The late great Jimmy Stynes was our saviour......is there a hero or 2 ready to bring home the bacon for the MFC or are we totally irrelevant in this competition. I truly hope I am proved wrong.
  15. While tonite was positive for our young players it was the likes of nervous Nellie Garland who again slaughtered the pill. He does it too often for a player who has been in the system for years. For Christ sake Colin - sharpen up this year and play some consistent good football.
  16. Caroline Wilson is one sad and done sports journalist. I have watched her appearances on TV and read her stories over the past months. It is evident to a reasonable thinking person that she gets so much wrong, contradicts herself and has a memory issue. She is now in defensive mode and showing signs of siege mentality. Only those who are her friends will continue to defend her journalism. Her irrational sensationalist style is all she has left.
  17. Autocol....you are as much a pro drug zealot as those who are against this in AFL clubs. Fill ya boots for all I care if you are an adult, smoke as much weed as you wish, I don't give a toss, however if you choose to play AFL and are lucky enough to be drafted then you choose this over taking illicit drugs...it's a no brainer! It's all about choice in life and if you screw up then take responsibility for it.
  18. DPositive - are you really sure you have not eaten horsemeat? I would not put my house on it, don't think for one minute Australia is immune from this stuff.
  19. Yes Illicit drugs is part of society and yes it has been since before the opium wars in China, however I don't think it's too much to ask of an elite footballer at the highest level on 200,000 plus a year to stay away from this [censored]. There will always be a minority who will do as they please....catch them and show them the door! If I get caught using illicit drugs I lose my job....I know the consequences. Footballers know the consequences unless they live under a rock. Everybody is a victim these days....excuses excuses!!
  20. Lets cut to the chase here - this is the biggest problem for the AFL NOT performance enhancing drugs. I am emphatically against the AFL 3 strike policy. This policy is flawed and is not in line with public expectations of what should happen at your football club. My view is kick any player out of the club who uses illicit drugs. Lets not nancy around with 3 chances, what sort of a message is this sending to young men who want to be elite footballers. Illicit drugs is a broader society issue however, I will be telling the MFC in the strongest possible terms that they need to stay on top of this issue within the club. There is only one policy for illicit drug use in the AFL- Zero Tolerance! if you are caught using illicit drugs and you are on a AFL list - your gone. Get to hell out of this game. I pay to support my club and I expect my club to get rid of drug users no matter who they are.
  21. Wilson is running a public campaign against the MFC, as a current member I have had a gut full of her rage against our club. Her stories have a hate tone and I am finding this offensive. I implore the MFC to fight damn hard against this on behalf of its supporter base. I want this gutter journalist to be held accountable for her public campaign against this club. This daily rant has to stop.
  22. If the AFL we're serious years ago it would have looked at the West Coast Roidsters. You would have been living in a bat cave not to know what they were up to. Cousins links to organised crime as well as others. the AFL just washed its hands of all that stuff. Now the Roidsters, West Coast Coke have the nerve to say their model should be used by other clubs. Bloody hilarious mob.......West Coast cheated their way to at least 2 flags. Disgraceful
