Let me open with this. I have always admired Hird, a great player, decent human being and wished we had such a champion at our club. My gut instinct tells me the Essendon Football Club tried to be cutting edge with all this supplement stuff, however my gut instinct also tells me that The Essendon falls within the Too Big To Fail scenario. The Evans family are powerful in AFL circles, so is the Hird family. The current AFL CEO was appointed by the AFL Commission - Evans Snr was on the Commission. Current AFL Commissioner Kelty is very close to Hird and Evans and gave counsel to Hird in recent days. My gut instinct tells me a deal has been done and the EFC will get a slap over the wrist. Hird is a demigod in AFL circles and nothing will happen to him and he knows this. Forgive me for been a tad cynical about all this. Hird and the EFC are not bigger than the game itself but the outcome will show the opposite. Finally I reckon I am not the only one who thinks that this EFC group of players are surprising many with their amazing fitness levels over the past 2 years. Make what you will of that. I smell rats everywhere at this club.

Part of his problem is he is not the sharpest tool in the shed....and he can't make decisions easily. Lets stop pussyfooting around here. He needs to get on his bike and earn his money

I think we need to lay off young Jimmy, it is just stupid crap by any poster to have a go. I think Jimmy will be a great player. NOW HERE IS THE RUB I have zero confidence that the Melbourne Football Club is capable of developing young Jimmy. This club will [censored] up any young player who comes into the club, That's the real deal and that's why I have had a gut full -
Demonique - I refer to your strange logic stating Frawley should leave if he has had a gut full. Bloody amazing isn't it ? He is probably on 300 grand a year.... Frawley is part of the problem and that does not entitle him to coast and just pick up his healthy paycheck at the dees then [censored] off when he is ready. I am sick of this mentality. These guys are paid a shyte load of cash yet still cannot perform to a reasonable standard. His attitude stinks...did you watch him on the weekend?

Convene a review of our football development process. It is obvious now that e erroneous at this club has failed in developing our young players. A thorough review must get into the weeds to find out why this has happened.

When was the last time Frawley and Garland played top football for the MFC and I wish those Frawley supporters shut up about his injury last year. If he runs out onto the ground then IMO he is ready to play. Get your confidence back chipper and start earning your pay packet.
-
He is showing just as much leadership in the back line as any others who have been there for years. The lack of composure is no worse than Frawley or garland
-
If Frawley wants to go then he can [censored] off.

If we lose to GWS I will officially lose any interest in this club for the remainder of 2013

Well Don and Mark, I reckon thousands are thinking this. Absolute gut full of poor management at this club resulting in bad recruiting. Gut full of watching our team thrashed so often. Gut full of high draft picks being ruined at this club. Gut full of been told to wait through another re-build Gut full of watching coaches killed at this club. Gut full of very bad culture at this club............that's what I reckon most are thinking.

I wish people would stop making excuses for our back line. Yes our midfield is crap but so are Frawley and Garland In the third quarter (the truly problematic one), the West Coast midfield was able to deliver the ball inside 50 at ease, with no pressure. Many of their kicks weren't able to be spoiled as they were purely to the West Coast player's advantage. It's so easy to blame it all on Garland and Frawley, when, truth be told, they got no support from anyone, and had to deal with the ball constantly coming inside 50 with speed and precision. Having said all that, of course it's also not fair to not note their poor games today. Frawley is just nothing like he used to be, whilst Garland is a third tall, nothing more. Problem for us is that West Coast had two or three legitimate forwards at any given time, making Garland have to play KPD, which he's just not good enough at. I'm fairly sure Gillies was recruited to help in this area. That hasn't worked, as yet, and may not work. But Garland and Frawley do need to improve their one-on-one work regardless.

At what point does this become unacceptable?

Neelds diamonds - Sellar, Byrnes, Pederson, Rodan. All absolute shockers in 2013 -
If we lose to GWS at the G then it will get very ugly for the club. Supporters only have so much left in the tank.....50 years constant mistakes, poor recruiting , poor selection of coaches and so on, messy messy and very ugly. Ticking time bomb!

This bloke was appointed because his reputation was solid at Collingwood. Somehow for reasons we are not privy to it has all come apart for him. Surely he is better than this....surely!! We have to give this man time and show some faith.

1. Ensure all our best recruits are re-signed. 2. Go out and find a marquee midfielder plus 2 other star players. Has to be done, club has to spend the money. 3. If Neeld does not stay, get a Paul Roos or someone with like credentials.

Don has given his all and is a vey capable and decent man however, the board must act now and find a new president to take us forward without the baggage Don carries. Don has endured a lot over the past three years and needs a mental break. The decisions the board now makes is crucial in every which way. It is paramount that our leadership changes at all Levels.

If I could ask him one question it would be...... Can you explain why Frawley, Jamar, Garland, and many others have gone backwards in their careers since 2011?
-
Watts and Sylvia to Casey. Kent and Tappy into the side. Hard competitive players required.
-
Great stuff Mitch. I am over 50 and have watched a lot of bad footy by this club but will be a solid member until my dying day. We need young people to get behind the club...get involved mate.
-
Jones bag - do yourself a huge favour.....delete Facebook, go out for dinner with some real friends not Imaginary ones.
-
To repeat the mistakes of the past will mean death. Play the young guys and wrk in the background to build a stronger club. Forget about wins losses. The club should harness every member and supporter to get involved in some way.

Sad but very true
