The AFL is well aware of their tactics. At the start of the year Caroline Wilson reported the AFL were filthy with Hawthorn for exiting all their experience last year. To name a few: O'Meara, Mitchell, McElvoy, Dunstan etc thousands of games experience. She even mentioned that evil word: priority pick. She said no chance they will get one given their deliberate list decimation. Not long after, one of the co-hosts of a Dunstall program mentioned that evil word. He grinned. It isn't just pick 1 they want, a priority pick is their end game, if not this year then next. They have learnt nothing from the wasted years and culture destruction at the dees and blues 10 years ago from tanking. Regardless of what Hawks do we will still end up with pick 5-7 from Freo or if we are very lucky #4. And whatever pick we get I'm confident we will get the player we want at the top of the draft.

The mod received enough pm's from other DL's complaing, that he deleted Opps Watch thread. So, WTAS thread lives on to entertain!! Our accuracy will come down when good teams force us wide with shallow kicks i50 or to the pockets. But it is unlikely that will happen to the same degree as last year. We have a better system this year to center the ball deep i50. It won't work all the time but it looks sustainable.

Somewhat surprisingly Joyce resigned today. Will depart after a 6 month handover to new CEO.

A reason for our accuracy is, like 2021 we are centering the ball deep i50 which is great for our small/medium players or anyone who marks. It certainly beats the wide boundary or the 45-50 mtr shots from last year

Correct. After 8 years. Jordon has only been around 4-5 years but because we 'delisted' then rookied him to accommodate covid list sizes, that delisting made him a UFA whenever he is OOC at mfc.

Yes, I guessed their possible salary ranking. I'm thinking of just making them all 'FA'. Quite a swathe of 10 year UFA's! Unfortunately, players OOC in the second half of this decade will mostly retire or are UFA's so we will lose about half of our 2021 premiership team; a real talent drain. Young players will come through but it will be tough replacing those that go.

Not sure it was Oliver that killed the game. It was a real team result for all four quarters. He had a lot of possessions but how effective were they? I don't have the quarter by quarter figures but overall he wasn't in the top 4 for any of: tackles, i50's, goal assists, meters gained. His 7 votes are very well deserved but it annoys me when people just look at his possession count to assess his (or anyone's) contribution to a result. And it annoys me when someone takes a cheap 'drive by' shot at one of our players: Bloody Trac is why Clarry won’t win a Brownlow by the way. Like @DemonlandI'll take premierships and NSM over Brownlow every day of the week.
