  1. AFL website has Hunt as 'Test'. Marty Hore Knee Season Jayden Hunt Ankle Test Aaron Nietschke Knee Season Adam Tomlinson Knee Season Updated: Tuesday, August 31 He should be fine for the Prelim.
  2. The AFL appealed the Houli 2 week ban because they thought it was 'manifestly inadequate'. The ban was increased to 4 weeks on appeal. Not sure how the appeal rules work but it looks like they were able to challenge the sentence without risk of overturning the guilty verdict.
  3. I'm wondering if a reason for taking the whole list is so that the team can play practice matches in the bye weeks. Of course, giving the whole list the chance to participate in a finals campaign atmosphere will be invaluable and rewarding for them. I reckon Burgess will have the team cherry ripe whenever they play. 🤞🙏
  4. I think the AFL is planning a GF parade so that all teams in the GF will be out of quarantine in time for the parade. Of course if Port and Demons win the prelims then exiting quarantine isn't relevant. But after the Prelims it will be too late to cancel the bye and bring everything fwd a week. Tbh, I'm really pleased for the players to have a GF parade and for it to be a bit more normal and a bit more special for them, especially if ours are in it. But for us fans it extends the tortuous wait.
  5. If Geelong is the beneficiary it won't matter to us as it means they beat us in the Prelim.
  6. I'm trying to remember how 2018 worked. I think it went like this: Priority 1. Memberships that had a GFG: Redlegs, Legends, and GFG add ons. I think there were some types also in this category. Priority 2. Regular Home, Home and Away memberships, of which there are various categories. Plus some others. Priority 3. All other memberships eg 3 game memberships, Country memberships etc. I can't recall if we had 'Access Memberships' back then. There were fixed time slots for each priority group to purchase. But this could well have changed especially as the GF is not at the G and ticketing could be very different. So best to contact the club. I've found they are responding to emails within 24 hours. As an aside, In 2018 my niece had a 3-game membership and I, a Redlegs membership. The only way we could sit together was if I dropped down to Priority 3 and booked it with hers. While we didn't make it to the GF I wanted to ensure that if we ever did she could go too so since then I've bought her a Redlegs. Little did I know that even if we made the GF covid would upset that little plan. Murphy's Law. Edit: Just saw @grazmanpost. Now I'm really doubting my memory. Best to check the club.
  7. The last one with Heppell happened on Sunday. It was in play, he took several steps toward the umpire and must have seen him yet pushed him in the chest and upper arm which were forceful enough to force him back. Went round him only after the umpire had been pushed out of Heppell's path. Didn't try to pull up. Didn't look back. Didn't apologise. Not even cited by MRO. And before folks pile on, I fully recognise the difference with the Toby incident. Just surprised the MRO didn't even have it in the 'events reviewed' category and explain why no penalty was appropriate.
  8. Collective sigh of relief at Geelong!
  9. The quote was from the AFL website and it seems like it was poor reporting. Poor reporting aside. They could hold the plane for 30 minutes and be there when sentenced. imv it would be the smart and brave thing to do.
  10. GREENE DEPARTS TRIBUNAL 12.56pm: Toby Greene has been forced to leave the AFL Tribunal, as Greater Western Sydney has a flight to catch to Western Australia for Friday night's semi-final against Geelong. The Tribunal has been informed that he will phone in on his way to the airport. Anyone else think this is disrespectful to the Tribunal. Like he has assumed he will get off with a fine. They fly on Chartered flights, surely they could hold the plane for another 30 minutes. One would hope that is poor reporting and he asked to 'take leave of proceedings' rather than just up and go.
  11. True, but why would he say being closer to Collingwood FC. Can't see its relevance.
  12. Can't imagine why we would want to be "closer to Collingwood FC"? Baffling.
  13. I would say so but check the club. The Access Membership is Priority 3 so it may differ to that of an existing membership. My recollection of 2018 finals is that lower priority tickets could not be bought simultaneously with higher priorities so seating may not be together (if both are successful in getting a ticket).
  14. I changed the heading to make it more obvious it is for i/state fans.
  15. This is for interstate fans that can get into WA for the GF. I contacted the club re member ticketing priorities. They advised people can still buy an 'Access Membership' for $49 which gives Priority 3 opportunity to GF tickets. One of our posters here mentioned that GF participating teams are allocated 10 to 15K tickets. I would be surprised if we have that many i/state members to use up the Priority 1, 2 and 3 allocations. We may not make the GF but a $49 'Access Membership' may be the best chance to buy a ticket. As an aside, the 'Access Membership' gives member priority to buy a ticket during the 'pre-sales' period for the Preliminary final ie before tickets at Optus are available for public purchase. So Tassie, NT, SA and WA folk, buy the $49 membership this week and go to both games! I wasn't able to find a link to Membership packages so it may be best to call/email the club if i/state fans are interested.
  16. If needed, I would be surprised if Freo and Eagles staff don't offer to help. When the northern states had to leave their state this year various clubs lent them equipment, physios etc.
  17. I'm not putting up any red and blue decor inside or outside until I know we are in the GF. MFCSS or superstition? Either way, don't want to jinx us.
  18. Thanks for the extra info. He is gone! Without Toby Cats win. We have and can beat the Cats in the Prelim especially after a rest for us and no rest for them.
  19. I certainly wouldn't be happy if it was Oliver for him to miss the Prelim and maybe the GF based on what so far, is inconclusive video. Lets wait for the facts before we hang Toby.
  20. I'm not fussed who wins. They are in the Lions/Port side of the finals draw. We can only play them if one of them get past the Lions and Port in the next few weeks and we make the GF. Doubt they will.
  21. The 'litmus test': What would people on here be saying if it was Oliver? I rest my case.
  22. Not flawed at all. If he had thrown a punch there is clear evidence of threatening behaviour. I have yet to see clear evidence that Toby's behaviour was verbally of physically threatening. Anyway, I've said my piece and will now bow out of the discussion and wait and see what happens.
  23. Love your optimism, od. Agree with your assessment. PF is ours to lose and I don't think we will.
  24. If the umpire hadn't stepped aside there would have been body to body contact. But he did. To me it looks like no body to body contact was made. Brushing of arms is about it. Toby wasn't in his face yelling and screaming like Neale was. Neale showed clear disrespect verbally and physically and got a fine. Toby's 'incident' looks much more tame than Neale's and should get the same or a lesser penalty.
  25. Close inspection of the vision shows Toby's hand (and therefore his arm/shoulder) moving away from the umpire and it looks like the umpire voluntarily moves the angle of his body slightly backwards to let Toby pass. At worst Toby's forearm or upper arm brushed that of the umpire. Unless there is conclusive vision from the other side showing contact Toby should play on. Crikey, Neale got off with a fine a few weeks ago for angrily yelling at and slapping the umpires upper arm. Where was the hue and cry from the commentators then. Crickets.
