Farewell Luke Jackson
Says he whose 24,739 post 'Likes' would be at least 70% 'HaHa' emojis!! ET, aka #tradewhisper: I've been very well, thanks for asking.

AFLW: 2022 Fixture (Season 7)
Port Melb seems to be where Ess are playing their Home games. Our North game is either it is an error or Casey isn't available that day. If that was the case they could schedule the game on another day... We play Crows and Dockers on their Home turf. Again.

Farewell Luke Jackson
ET, its great having you post again but I still can't tell when you are joking...is the 'copper bench top' a clue? Otherwise a 'rolling eyes' or 'raised eyebrow' emojis will do fine if you are joking! TIA.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Thanks guys. None were on the club's injury report to the AFL so hopefully that means they will be fine. We can't have too many 'injured' players in a crunch game like this.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Report on Fox. Team Tips: It comes as the Dees copped several setbacks against Adelaide including Jake Lever (corked thigh), Ben Brown (knee) and Michael Hibberd (leg/hamstring), although the severity of their issues are unclear. Anyone heard anything about these? A bit worrying if any of those are correct.

Petty up forward?
Ess or Saints perhaps. Neither well stocked for defenders.

Petty up forward?
Tomlinson really blotted his copy book on Reid vs Sydney. Was all at sea. Sulked each time Reid beat him. Hasn't stood out at Casey since. He will only be depth. I wouldn't be surprised if he (OOC 2023) gets a chat along the lines of: 'we are not sure what the future holds re senior games so you might like to look for new opportunities this year'. iirc he came on a very good $ package so it would free up cap space for next year's contract renewals. On Petty: He is a defender. He is May's understudy. Leave him there.

What They Are Saying at Moorabool Street
Lately, Cameron is playing as a part time midfielder as well as kicking goals. He had 30 possessions and 10 coaches votes, albeit against North. He has 64 coaches votes for the year so is doing something right. A dangerous player than can catch teams by surprise, partly because his opp doesn't know whether to follow him to the midfield or to stay back. Will be an interesting watch.

2022 Injury List
It is weird that TMc is still 8-10. Goodwin said last week he didn't know why it was listed as 8-10 when he said 6-7. Maybe he is now 5-6 weeks.

COACHES VOTES: Round 16, 2022
Hopefully, the umpires are switched on and give Oliver the Brownlow votes he deserves. I still find it baffling that footy fans rate/like players not from their team eg Cripps, Danger, Dusty, Bontempelli, Neale etc etc but don't rate or like Oliver.

COACHES VOTES: Round 16, 2022
Nealy A clean sweep! 10 Christian Petracca (MELB) 7 Clayton Oliver (MELB) 7 Steven May (MELB) 2 Jordan Dawson (ADEL) 2 Jake Lever (MELB) 1 Ed Langdon (MELB) 1 Angus Brayshaw (MELB) A fairly similar coach vote for top 3 honours. Interesting that 3 of our defenders got votes. They deserve it - a record number of intercept marks. Split 5/5 Petracca 4/3 Oliver and May 2/0 Dawson and Lever 1/0 Langdon and Brayshaw Leader Board Oliver now has a big lead. Will be interested to see how many Brownlow votes he has after round 16. CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Geelong
They rested Selwood this weekend and he was rested about a month ago plus they had a bye. Dangerfield played little more than half a game after many weeks out. They will both play.

Farewell Luke Jackson
WCE does not need to split their 2022 first for two 2022 firsts to the same team! There are any number of combos of 2022 and 2023 picks with one or more clubs to get WCE two 2022 first so they can trade one and use one.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Yes they can! We went down this road last week and I'm not going through all the permutations again. Suffice to say they can split their first round pick for two first round picks; trade one and use one.

What They Are Saying at Moorabool Street
While Dangerfield is rated as a champion he has performed poorly in finals. He is a H & A specialist. He is no Mr September!

What They Are Saying at Moorabool Street
They might if they play an i/state team. But with a chunk of KP being rebuilt I doubt it, especially as Lions and Swans have a decent following in Melbourne who turn up to their Vic games. More likely to play at Marvel. Other Vic teams will all be at the G which means not many teams will get a Home ground advantage.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Not sure either will be selected this week but I just don't see Brown's 'superiority': A few of the Crow's goals came while Brown was in the ruck and they got some quick CB clearances and his field work wasn't as good.

What They Are Saying at Moorabool Street
I'm tipping Cats and Dees as top two regardless of the outcome of this match. But a win for either is a massive mental victory: Cats will be playing for revenge; Dees for mental dominance. A good win for them and they will feel vindicated and go into a Final with a swagger. A good win for us and the mental scarring will be complete. Dees to win by 1 point after being 4 goals down. That should finish off their mental scarring!! On second thoughts not sure I could cope with such a close game so perhaps: Dees to win by 2 goals after being 4 goals down...

What They Are Saying at Moorabool Street
A mixed bag from bigfooty: Expecting to win this. Go cats. This is the game. Without Stewart, potentially without Stanley. I’m for once, not confident at all. Can't show our full hand but Scott needs to do something different. This team has our number in recent years. We will also see how some of the inexperienced players hold up to the pressure. Z. Guthrie, Holmes, De Koning, Close, Stengle . Demons are going ok but not as formidable as the back end of last year. I reckon we are in this up to our ears on current form. If we spend half the game kicking it down lever and May’s throats like we did against Richmond we are going to be in all sorts of trouble I can’t forget the nightmares of last year. Both games V Melbourne. I can see us getting to a decent lead early and them then reeling us back in. Melbourne by 25 points. We are due for a loss and they are too good. Would like to win but quite happy to lose and take some learnings out, hopefully we can be better come finals. While a lot of the names are the same I think we are better placed to face Melbourne than last year. We could have played a couple of kids last night and still won the game. Now Dad's Army will have to front up again on Thursday night. Not expecting a win here. I just want to see if our midfield is any chance of holding it together later in the year. They should smack us in the middle. We are a good chance, but so are they, and they will almost certainly bring their best footy and they play K.Park pretty well. Ii would love this upcoming game against Melb to be at the MCG - to see how Geel would measure up against the reignining premiers on the All those years of handing them out a hiding. They will never forget it. They rested Jackson for a reason. This is the game they want. I don't see us beating them for a while yet. I wouldn't care if we lose but if we could possibility unearth 1 or 2 flaws in their game so that if we meet again in the finals, we can try to expose that weakness. Melbourne are beatable. Put pressure on and get good ball to our forwards. Big game to show we are not just a top contender but we are here for the main course. Yep. That round 23 defeat imo gave them the belief to win the flag. Massive sliding doors moment. My favourites: I knew i shouldnt have tried to have a proper discussion with you. Because honestly it is like dancing with a Cobra snake Memo to players and coaches: if the game is close in the final minute and we have possession of the ball, DO NOT : Kick out on the full Punch the ball into the stand giving away a 50m penalty Fail to man up on Max Gawn at the top of the goal square

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Looks like Geelong have a few outs: Stewart, Kolodjashnij and possibly Stanley.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Geelong are also on a 5 day break. If we flew back after the Crows game dees players would be home about the same time as Geelong's. All equal there. Dangerfield played only 62% game time so it was just a training session for him. They have rested a lot of players but we have had multiple back to back 8/9 day breaks should be equally fresh. Other than the obvious changes one I would consider is who takes Stengle. Is it Hibberd, Salem, Gus or bring in Hunt who has an outstanding record on small forwards this year?

2022 Free Kick Differential
But first, the Cats at KP. As one sided as a crowd can get! Be ready for 'frees from crowd affirmation.' No crowds helped us with the umpiring in rnd 23 last year. And Max had the Prelim crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. Hostile territory this time.

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
I think Lever was facing Fogarty but it was still unwarranted away from the field of play.

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
I'm not sure if it is across the board but I reckon Clarrie gets a raw deal from the umps. Won the coaches award last year is well ahead so far this year. Will be interesting how he fares this year in the Brownlow.

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
My assessment: Kozzie's by far the lesser of the three: was in play, careless, low force = Fine. Fogarty: behind play, deliberate, medium force (I think Lever went off after it) = one match but it won't be rated as that, More likely low impact so just a fine. The forearm to Clarrie's head: High contact , low/medium force = one match but mist likely a fine if at all. No discussion on it in the media so MRO may just overlook it.
