  1. Classic QB. I was going to ask if he was related to Harvey.
  2. "More than serviceable" no he was not up to it although he played as a defender back then. Probably not a bad idea but can't see clubs drafting 28 year old on ballers. Maybe if key fwd or a ruckman.
  3. 6. Gawn 5. Viney 4. TMac 3. Langdon 2. Salem 1. ANB
  4. I had written him off too & happy to be proved wrong but let's keep it in perspective. After a season & a half that's probably the 2nd time he's been named in Casey's best. He needs a few consecutive performances like yesterday before being considered for promotion.
  5. "lacked the defensive positioning" - what sort of nonsense is that !! We were beaten 'cause WC were more desperate & aggressive, spanked us at centre bounces & we were innafective in attack & Darling & Waterman pantsed our defence. We had maybe 3 or 4 good players all game.
  6. Maybe you should change your moniker to Hunter's Mate 🤣🤣🤣. Seriously AMW got 95 DT points last game to Hunter's 46. Hunter was terrible & doesn't deserve a promotion on last week's effort unless he was unwell or injured.
  7. Moniz Wakefield has been a mile ahead of Hunter in the last few Casey games.
  8. RDB clearly the winner. Warne Smith - Captain, 2 Brown lows & a Premiership has to be 2nd. Robbie the best I've seen followed by Lyon.
  9. I don't mean to whine but what happened to dog diversity ? There are hundreds of breeds of dogs yet these days people only seem to have 3 or 4 types !!
  10. Struggling to impose himself at Casey so promote him up to the next level - sounds logical to me.
  11. Yep you were right & I end up looking like a goose Mind you his selection totally contradicts Goody's earlier comments that McAdam would not play until he had several Casey games under his belt. Let's hope this works out better than the Petty or Bowey returns when they were clearly underdone.
  12. Do posters actually ever inform themselves of the facts ??? Stop posting innacuate, dumb stuff. Schache is injured, didn't play the last game & is not available. Posters still calling for McAdams inclusion despite Goodwin & the Club insisting he needed to play several games at Casey.
  13. Are you referring to Turners, Van Rooyens, Salem's & BBB's as well as to McAdams ?
  14. More American Imperialist carp. Just like that stupid hall of fame. Surely we can come up with something original. Premiership stubby cooler !!!
  15. Ruck rover - what a quaint old fashioned term.
  16. Well the selectors have put him on the bench. Middle of last year I said he was looking like Lucas Cook & have seen nothing to change my mind.
  17. Jeez that both depressing and alarming. It opens the question on Tarryn Thomas. In my view any player suspended for DV or related matters would need to demonstrate with testable evidence that they have changed. And not just issuing statements of cliched PR weasel words. Something like volunteering for a year with a DV organisation would be a start.
  18. Good point 1858. In my 38 years in the workforce the only certain DV that I knew about was a bloke called PG. He was jockey sized & an alcoholic. His much larger wife would come in at lunchtime on payday to grab his cheque. PG would often come in with black eyes & mumble about walking into doors.
  19. Hear hear Kev. I agree we have a long way to go to stamp out domestic violence but I'd like to put in a slightly different perspective. As Crikey has pointed out the rates of domestic spouse homicide are about half of what they were on the mid 80's. You can look this up on the Australian Institute of Criminology statistics. There has been a definite spike this year but the stats are trending in the right direction. We now have women's refuges, AVO's and police take domestic violence more seriously. The AFL & NRL now take action on players charged with DV and society rightly shuns them whereas previously it was ignored. We have a long way to go but things are moving in the right direction. And finally don't forget that while the vast majority of victims of DV are women & children around 10-15 % of the victims are men.
  20. Yes but it's only become popular in the West because Jewish idioms have become standard on American sitcoms like Seinfeld.
  21. Mensch is just more US cultural Imperialism stolen from Israel. How about Clarry is a good bloke. Or a bonza fellah.
  22. Agree and do those calling for McAdam understand he is nowhere near match fit ? Only came on for 10 minute bursts then rested at 3/4 time
  23. 6 Langdon 5 Gawn 4 Rivers 3 Turner 2 Pickett 1 Lever
  24. Joel McDonald was arguably the biggest "howler" we made in recent history. For some reason bizarre PR reason the club was telling its members what a coup it was recruiting Joel when in fact he was a plodding journeyman. Anyway we took him & next pick Tigers picked Dylan Grimes (whose brother Jack was already at the Dees). Probably the crime of the century.
  25. You should get some award for reminding older supporters of Barry Ough. Picked for 1 match, sat on the bench, wasn't used then left the Club shortly after.
