  1. Calm down. He often gets the ball in some tough spots to kick from. Having another leading forward will really help him in terms of where he gets the ball. He has to go wide often as he can’t compete with the big guys in the air.
  2. Well Demons fans we have been praying for years for our players to shift momentum in a quarter. That was great to watch.
  3. 100% we tried something else around the ball and it worked
  4. How is that not chopping the arm against Gawn but is for Mckernan? we are getting a bad run with the umpires!
  5. Ask the blokes that gave their full forward 2 free kicks that resulted in 2 goals. That’s the difference.
  6. Weak freak kick. Umpires being sucked in by crowd. I honestly think they are lucky to be this close.
  7. Am I the only one who think the jury is still a long way out on Sparrow? He seems an almost footballer to me.
  8. I forgot how much I dislike Eagles supporters. It’s was one of the only upsides to COVID not having to hear them clap in unison.
  9. It’s very interesting looking at North’s forward line that they let Brown go for not very much at all. ?
  10. The other clubs spend no time thinking about us. All I was trying to say is that isn’t the supporters fault, it’s the clubs. They are different things. One has shown up for a very long time with little to no reward, while the other one at the very least draws an income. I don’t think it’s ok to blame supporters. My old man is in his 70’s and he’s not going to be bothered to show up, because he had to sit through crap losses for most of his life. If you think of it like a relationship - at a certain point if you don’t feel like you’re getting much from it, you stop giving much to it. I appreciate your passion Dr. I agree it’s super disappointing, but I just also completely understand and emphasise with other Melbourne supporters who feel somewhat disenfranchised. ?
  11. While I was just posing the question I think it’s a bit rich to blame supporters for the clubs on field struggles. Most Melbourne supporters have lived their entire life without a premiership, and have realistically seen their team play finals no more than a half dozen times. If they aren’t showing up it’s probably because they are pessimistic given what they’ve endured.
  12. Are Melbourne supporters fickle, or are they just responding to the fickleness of the team? ?‍♂️
  13. Might want to watch the mid section of the last quarter. We had some shockers.
  14. Lever, May and TMac’s agility all positives. Our defensive unit are tight. The win is the biggest positive given we didn’t gel for large parts of the game. My biggest concerns: - the last kick into the forward line. We really butchered it a lot. We’ve had 4 years to work on it and it’s still deplorable. Watch the last quarter and we had 4 absolute shockers. - Our clearance work. We are making a habit of getting overworked in there, which is concerning given our list profile includes virtually no outside mids. - Harmes, Jones and Sparrow are concerns for different reasons.
  15. Exactly. Last years problems are this years problems - one outside runner, and no forward line. I’m still furious we didn’t try and bring in another winger. It’s been an issue for 4 years.
  16. The only thing I like about these articles is that I hope it makes Clayton furious that he’s been overtaken. I love him when he gets fired up.
  17. The pole statue reminded me of something out of The Office. I thought the players were going to burst out laughing when it was introduced. There’s such an emphasis on seasons have ‘themes’ now because of Phil Jackson, but the reality is that no amount of theming could be a stronger influence than Jordan. Good players and a good system always wins, I guess the other stuff is just designed to keep things feeling fresh.
