  1. A great line that one, I just hope our recruiting team haven't gone about interviewing players under the same influence that Jock did.
  2. Not playing anyone unless he has a good reason and they deserve their spot. Not sure what you're meaning here 'rpfc' but if they went head to head McCartin wouldn't be a play thing, that bit I can guarantee you.
  3. Maybe apart from Hogan, he is better. Gawn is a ruck, Pedersen & Fitzpatrick depth. Now for one thing we might not even have McCartin and if we do I wouldn't be ruling a line through him just yet. I wouldn't be gifting games to Pedersen, Gawn or Fitzpatrick because they've been around a while. I am sick of gifting games to players who don't deserve it be they kids or experienced campaigners. That's right, he doesn't expect them to be saviours but he doesn't rule them out of developing at senior level either. Roos has been quoted as saying a lot of things and then it's 'Demonland' law that Roos does this or Roos does that. I judge him more on his actions. Roos does play first year players, first game in the AFL. It doesn't mean McCartin will or McCartin won't. If we go on 'Demonland' law we won't take McCartin and at least 3 of our picks will be used for senior players not kids.
  4. Why do you say this, Roos actions don't necessarily show that to be right. JKH played the first game last year. If we take McCartin and he shows plenty in preseason then there is no reason he won't play first game.
  5. Of course you can but the really good ones make an impact early in their careers. Brown, Brereton, Lockett for example made an impact early. The good thing about Hogan and McCartin is they are hard at it competitors (mongrels), a thing they share in common with the above players. I reckon it's these types that make it early. Jeremy Cameron is another that made an early impact but I wouldn't put him in the mongrel category although he is no shrinking violet when it comes to standing his ground.
  6. I would think more if we pick him up. McCartin is already better in the air and his leading patterns are better than Dawes. Dawes has a mature AFL body but it does seem to let him down a bit.
  7. ...but he was playing better footy without injury last year against the older kids 'Bob' so I don't think it will be a problem for him.
  8. ...but the draft is not today.
  9. Might be, who are you missing or who will be missing?
  10. A consultant with more than a lot of influence.
  11. Might have been his press conference but I heard the same thing. Seems like they are going to use pick 40.
  12. Spot on 'good oil', Gore is the more natural mid, particularly in the stoppages where he reads and distributes well.
  13. Garlett is the only one with runs (goals) on the board though.
  14. So do I, the comment is more about those who keep talking about our poor midfield but I would suggest our forward line may now be worse. Of course Hogan and Garlett will add a lot and Howe being able to roam the forward half rather than being a key target will also help. On current performance our forward line in very, very poor on future outlook it looks better but we still have a very long way to go before we start discounting KPF's in the draft.
  15. Only one proven quality forward in that lot 'Redleg', and he's coming off a bad season.
  16. Rather than our 'F' troop forward line?
  17. Wouldn't make as good a story though 'Jack'.
  18. I think so too 'Jack', a Hogan, McCartin forward line would strike fear into defenders in years to come. They both have a take no prisoners attitude to the game.
  19. Absolutely he is but the point is he got traded for pick 46 not pick 2 and I did say at best, he's miles from that level.
  20. No way, Hrovat is a good hard worker & a handy player but nowhere near a pick 2 even with pick 5 coming back. At his best he will be a McGlynn type and he was traded for pick 46 & 70 tied up in the Kennedy deal. Surely we can do much better than this.
  21. That is not smart. The Dogs are desperate for a KPF, we would want one of their best mids for that trade.
  22. Hasn't been as good this year as last but I think we could. He can play and is hard at it like Hogan.
  23. It's really not that important anyway, we should be well over the one player will help us thing and the great white hope number one selection. FWIW the 2 best up and coming mids in the game are Fyfe pick 20 and Parker pick 40. I still think Dean Gore will be a steal at anywhere from 20 to rookie.
  24. Well there it is. That's the final straw that tells me we shouldn't get Petracca. If Garry says yes then no it is. Garry who picked our last 2 coaches, Garry "Scully is Judd" Lyon. Gary has no more idea of who the best junior talent in the land is than most on demonland and his track record is in the red to say the least.
