  1. Great centre line... I'm probably a little bit older than you and that's why I had Hassa Mann (a hero of mine when I was a kid) instead of Wells. ...but Wells was a great player, a hard choice. Saw more of him live than Hassa.

would love to go but unfortunately working that morning...enjoy and look forward to your report back.
  3. He sure was...
  4. Why? I saw him play and the topic is about the best I've seen. He is... If you want to select by decades start another topic.
  5. Love this HB line What a great player Gary Hardeman was My centre line would be Flower Mann Alves
  6. Sad as it is 'Ethan', you are probably right. The question then is...where does it sit with the law? Could he sue the AFL for not letting him play? Interesting times ahead.

I don't think that will ever be JVR's problem. He's big enough to look after himself football wise. The best attribute he has at the moment is he will fight to bring the ball to ground if he can't mark it and we don't have anyone else who does this. Having said that, I don't think he is a lock for the season. The fight he will have is to keep his spot.

At least he isn't wrong there...
  9. ...and then they trade Jackson back for a salary cap dump.
  10. Despite the conventional wisdom on here Jackson was pretty good from what I saw of that Q...a nice tap to advantage and a couple of good grabs. Happy to see Freo getting smashed but look with both eyes people.
  11. I could think of a couple of others but they will do for now...

I don't like it. I heard someone on the radio yesterday saying something along the lines of the AFL being more mature when they bring it in. I hate this type of argument...that and the one about change and not being stuck in the past. Somethings in the past were good and in fact more mature. I think it's immature to raise these kinds of stupid arguments.
  13. What happens if Kenny gets the flick at Port?
  14. This is the game we needed to see from Howes... Now he's just got to be consistent & a spot will open up for him.
  15. A good debut... The beauty about Casey this season is that it will be the kids with a handful of veterans that are driving the team. Last season it was the vets. We may not win it but we will have a good idea on our depth and where the list sits at the end. Sestan can play. I he has the will to do it he will be a really good story. Dane Swan???
  16. The way his body has been the last number of years...he would be as good a bet as the Swans playing an injured Reid in the GF.

A question for '@DeeSpencer' and '@dazzledavey36'....over the last few seasons I've made comment on the low possession stats across the board at Casey. ....but in this game they've jumped up significantly. Is there a change in game plan? was the previous stats person visually challenged? Is there a trend here? Serious question here guys, despite the remark on the stats taker.
  18. I think we're kidding ourselves if we think we can beat the odds. We have this year and next to win a flag and then it gets a lot harder. If Freo crash this year then our chances of being a force long term lift significantly. Add some clever recruiting and father/son selections and that will hold us up. I'm concerned that we will be on the way down when Tassie come into the comp and that will hold us down longer. We can't rely on ageing champions, our contested style does not lead to longevity. We will need a lot of luck to go any longer than the current cycle.
  19. To get a reaction... There are enough of us true believers on board who love this team. I just let these sorts of comments go and feel sorry for the people who can't share the joy. ...and I'm one who was pretty ambivalent about it at the start.
  20. Tonight then after that next week then after that the next week. Sorry, but I'm one of those one game at a time people...

Stengel is a smart player. I don't think Saad was the right match up but not sure they have anyone else with leg speed in their defensive half. On that subject Doherty looks to be struggling and Weitering had a shocker... Another on the Cats side Tuohy is getting caught out a lot...33yo and might have gone one too many. edit: I notice Saad had a heap of metres gained wonder how much came back with interest...

A fair comparison 'A F', the only difference is that Sam didn't mind body contact. ...but back to Saad, he tried hard to lose them the game.

Carltons bottom 10 players are VFL standard. Some good high end talent. Geelong are looking old...without Cameron & playing a better opposition they would have been smashed.
  24. I hope they send him to Clarry again.... He won't get the same result this time. Clarry is a very competitive footballer and would be storing the last meeting at the back of his mind. Plus he's fit this time.
