  1. Drops a lot of easy ones though, if he starts taking those then he will be a lot more value to us.
  2. How about that tackle on Wines, just dumped him like a bag of.....
  3. No it wasn't, it was an effort from a player who has no idea in a contested situation. He needed to clean Grey up, not the other way around.
  4. Needs a good steak on the plate.
  5. Yep, a lot of love for Kent but he hasn't established himself as an AFL player yet.
  6. Don't agree with you on Gibbs, he is definitely an A grader and despite what some Carlton & football supporters have believed he has been for a fair while. Would love him at Melbourne.
  7. I watched it and thought it was more in the mental side of the game, they were thinking of the break. They just weren't ready for what St Kilda dished up, there was no spark at all from Freo. They didn't want to be there. A good example was when Moribito kicked his first goal since coming back early in the game and no one went to him. I think St Kilda felt they were treated with contempt last year when Lyon sent over a reserves side and again this game with Sandy being rested. Whatever the reason they had a good win.
  8. Trouble is it hasn't changed. If you lose a player early you're still at a disadvantage as the opposition has a fresh player they can bring into the game any time they like. I know there have been results going the other way the last 2 weeks but it is not the norm. The argument for the sub just doesn't hold water, I think it's a dumb rule and agree with Roos on this. I believe restricted interchange to say 10 a Q with 4 on the bench is the way to go. It would take the ability to have 36 players on the ball for 4 Q's and it would be easier to cover one man down with fewer rotations.
  9. Lyon said they had a light week (source: in his press conference).
  10. Not sure 'Mike'...he has some really good physical attributes but I don't think they have settled him in a position yet. I'm in the undecided camp at the moment, his first half tonight was good but watching the 3rd Q he really hasn't worked hard enough.
  11. Has he played his last AFL game? I would think at least for this year he has... 7 very uninspiring Col possessions. "X" Factor written all over them...
  12. Tomlinson playing a good game tonight, wants to come back to Melbourne.
  13. Talking about a lot earlier than that 'Earl' when Mick was in charge. They miraculously bulked up over one pre season, had the best fitness and weights coach in the land obviously since no one had or has since seen that sort of change in body shape across the board. Not with legit methods anyway.
  14. Had a wonderful Silvia moment, like I've been saying for ages he is just not that good. Forget potential, he played to it. No footy smarts, no peripheral vision. Blazed away at goal...reminded me of the good old days of Silvia and Maloney... ping the ball in to no one. ha... Roos pulled a good one on Rossy offloading Silvia.
  15. Masters of a few arts and one of them is not getting caught. Were well ahead of the game in building strong bodies.
  16. I think Buckley is doing a really good job and that the Pies are set up well for the coming years. Malthouse screwed himself over in his last year when a flag was there for them, Buckley is now building a stronger list to move forward. I wouldn't mind him at Melbourne.
  17. Not the same as for a 30 year old with knee problems.
  18. The young gun we missed through not having the draft pick 'Nasher'. No we don't give away a top 5 pick for Nick, if there's another way then sure but that would be a disaster if the club went down this path.
  19. Yep, that's certainly one of many. Not sure what the other many are though.
  20. I don't want Brian Taylor coaching us, what was his record like at Prahan? and wouldn't Lingy be sick of working with him after all those Saturday night games riding the boundary line?
  21. Yep, agree. We are light on for KPP and if Frawley goes it only makes the problem worse.
  22. Thanks 'P-man', just brilliant mate.
  23. Even though I understand the dilution of the talent pool argument I suspect you are quite right here. I also suspect Roos is a master media person and has deflected the question beautifully.
  24. I agree with what you say with the exception of the last bit. Yes we do have a desperate need for a KPP but not at the expense of the best available. It's trying to pick and choose on needs that is mostly responsible for where we are now.
  25. ...and neither have most of the other names thrown up as likely successors.
