2018 All-Australian Thread
He's had a really good season as a KPD...well deserved. Should probably make the AA 22... Take off the red & blue glasses '11'.

Salem ready to make his mark
Roos likened him to McVeigh from the Swans the other night. I get that, he's becoming a really smart player, setting up play & cutting the lines (opposition attacking moves). He's maturing nicely and tough as nails.

Sam Murray under ASADA Investigation
I wouldn't be casting too many stones on this one 'brendan'... It's a problem in all clubs from what I hear, big problem. From an article in 2002... https://www.smh.com.au/sport/lewis-drug-accusation-isnt-that-far-off-the-mark-lyon-20020309-gdf52z.html You would have to be mad to think it has improved... "Things go Better", seems to be the choice these days. Young men, risk takers, time and money...plenty of hangers on.

Hagdorn and Hardy 'Pennant'... To be honest the only solid news I believe out of WA comes either from you or one of the other posters who's name slips my mind at the mo...edit: 'Chook in Perth' (thanks 'Clint') ...and of course the news breaker ' @Ethan Tremblay'

Shades of '87, albeit 31 years on
Remember it well 'bingers'... The feeling in the outer at Western Oval and the many beers after at a local pub...

Hodge and Christian
Agree 'Bob'. I always thought it amusing the experts view at the start of the season that having one man do the job would solve all the problems and provide consistency. It's never going to happen. Each new footy boss put's his spin on it and comes up short as Hocking has. It's human nature...

Was the win against West Coast rigged?
In all honesty 'joeboy', I think the AFL put in a senior panel that was less inclined to be influenced by the home crowd. A smart move as it was an important game for both clubs as well as shaping the 8. The decisions you talk about could easily have gone against us but there were many others that could have gone our way. The crowd were angry at the performance of their 23rd man though, they didn't get a clear run at it. Rigged? no... but I think it was either a smart move or luck that the AFL seemed to address the home town decisions with the selection of the umpires.

Was the win against West Coast rigged?
Agree 'Macca'...but you're making too much sense. I prefer the narrative that Nichols has it in for us, it's much easier to yell at the tele.

As most will know I haven't been a Frost fan but I acknowledge what he brings to the team and he's been a real plus. Something that I also noticed was how teammates are using/not using him. He's obviously been instructed to play to his abilities and I think his teammates have also been instructed not to call him to switch. Either that or they know not it's not a good percentage play. One in particular against WC I noticed Tyson almost start to call for a ball in the corridor then decided against it. He's still going to make mistakes and be caught out in the wrong positions but they can be limited if he sticks to basics and teammates understand his limitations.

CH-7 footy telecasts
No, if it's the 7 feed unfortunately you always get the 7 commentary...like yesterday's game. Can't remember going back to the early days of Fox but that's what happens now. Fox don't overlay their commentary the only thing they will do is on Friday night run their analysis pre game, post game and at half time.

Changes v GWS Giants
With that massive home crowd they will draw...only joking 'Red'.. It would be justice to knock the Cats out of the finals.

Petracca in a rut?
He's nothing like Sylvia. Some of his field kicking is sublime...Col wouldn't have even seen the teammate let alone hit him up. The kid is 22yo, missed a full season with a knee & is playing a position that by it's nature means he's going to have quiet patches. He had a significant impact on the result today.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 22
Last play of the day Nev buried LeCras & I think he had a good sook about it & tried it on with Nev. Picked the wrong man...

Wallace Calls Out Goody
No 'Lucifer', you changed the goal posts. Lets not quibble about a year or so...we don't have the quality of other clubs in that age bracket, the prime years for an AFL footballer. Only a fan with rose coloured glasses would say different. ...and that added to games played (lack of experience) is the major reason we struggle to put away quality opposition.
