I would have thought it was ‘lack of duty of care’ by not looking at who is in front of you. Who knows what sort of damage you could do without assessing all factors when confronting contact. its like saying keep your eyes on the road when crossing a country railway intersection knowing the train is coming 🫣

I agree THBT, There is more to forward craft than goal kicking. If the club is talking about the ‘Collective’, the forward line collective performs better with a tall, mobile, strong player in Petty. To the naysayers, Go back and look JVR first quarter goal last week. JVR would not have taken that mark and kick the goal without Petty blocking GC players behind. Pre season training reports had Petty training as a KB. Give him time as his defensive forward work is very good.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Demonsterative replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Using Freeo’s second round pick (along with other picks) to move into another 10 pick would be icing on the cake with the LJ trade. -

Any update on Kozzie today??? 🧐🥸😎🤓 -
I wasn’t able to watch today. How did Durssma go today? He could be within range with Freeo’s pick.

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache

The low expectations could surprise a few. I’m glad he doesn’t have his No 2 draft pick over hanging him. I hope he does well. -

Factually correct. If this is the case in 10 years time, who knows? LJ has a lot to achieve to reach the impact Grundy has had at AFL level (premierships aside… I could name many premiership players…). Kane’s desire for click bait clouds his words. -

Not sure how Marxism is relatable to the MFC/AFL? An over used term on this site is Revisionism… -
I celebrate your family’s, and all servicemen for their sacrifice Chook. Celebration is not just a term for birthdays, NYE etc.

We are not celebrating a day of defeat, we are celebrating the ANZAC ‘digger’ mentality and spirit ‘Against all odds’

Weid is looking good. Good on him!

Our whole forward line in the bottom 8. 😬

Schache has kicked almost 40 goals in his last 10 games at VFL level. He provides better value as a second ruck than TMac or JVR. He is performing at VFL and he has not been the icing on top of the cake in these games. I have my doubts too, but I would like him to get a good run at it to prove his worth when TMac is struggling.

I like the idea of Schache playing. He can play in defence, the ruck and has great upside in the forward line. What worries me is he is great on paper, but has yet to put his potential at AFL level on a consistent level. TMac was given a game on the back of 2 goals, Schache has kicked 4 goals today at Casey. Was he given a real opportunity at the Bullies given he was behind some good forwards? Everything we dislike about BBB, not a contested aerialist, not good at ground level (although has kicked many this year), too easily out muscled, is exactly what is said about Schache. BBB kicks goals and I can’t argue with that. Schache would have been handy given how we were outplayed by the bombers. He could have been the swing man we needed to stem the play. Can BBB, Schache and JVR play in the same forward line with Schache being the 2nd ruck/swing man. TMac should be dropped and Gawn is too important to risk at this stage.
