  1. http://www.blayneychronicle.com.au/news/national/national/sport/davey-at-centre-of-storm/2510952.aspx Caroline Wilson still claiming Davey is the source even after his statement, Cam Schwab disagrees. Unusual how she glosses over how she new about the story in advance. Never a dull moment as a Dees supporter.
  2. Strange timing for this.
  3. Edit: @stuie Why? You think he should just give us the cliches? Tell us everything's peachy keen and the weekend was one step on the path to prosperity? Like I need more of that in my life. I thought his presser was fkn excellent and told me exactly what I wanted to here. That he was as shattered by it as I was and he was going to make some serious changes to rectify the situation.
  4. Thanks for the flood stuie. Agree with the range rover. Totally behind this guy.
  5. Loved the press conference from Jack after the attacks on Neeld. Definitely something about this guy, he just oozes leadership. Gives me some hope for the future.
  6. Once again, left wishing there was a dislike button.
  7. I don't think the idea is just swapping out the underperformers, it's cutting out the guys with no heart or a mad desire to be the best AFL player they can be. So you cut away Blease, Davey, whoever else lacks that heart, and bring in people like Couch, McDonald and maybe Dunn, not because they'll perform better and maybe they won't, but because they'll give their all and so they deserve to be there. No, 'guys with heart' won't win us games in the short-term, but it's where we need to start considering our previous player development strategy apparently consisted of singalongs around a campfire and pats on the back for getting on an AFL list. And I think this has been glossed over a lot when demonlanders have criticised Neeld. He's said in interviews that he's barely even gone into the details of his game-plan yet because the coaching staff have had to start with trying to instill individual players with that desire to work their arse off and push past their limits that so many of them seem to be missing. That whatever it is that makes a player want to push themselves to go from B/C grader to an elite player. This won't happen overnight and unfortunately for some of them, it never will. More words, whatever, that's all this is. Anyway, I think our coaching staff is on the right track. See what happens.
  8. Chris Judd said in an interview a few weeks back that one of his biggest motivators was 'fear' and considered it a positive thing. That video of Bailey patting everyone on the head and going spare because they won a match just makes me feel weird. Much prefer the hardass whose respect you have to earn approach, like James Earl Jones in Best of the Best. It's like that moment in the movie where it goes black and white and baby Tommy drops his ice cream. Do you want that? Do you want one of our players to take a back-kick to the head from a Korean who doesn't care if they live or die? No! They must be ready! Neeld will make them ready.
  9. All I can say about this loss is that I am fkn shattered.
  10. We wouldn't have been able to have both in the team because we wouldn't have had the money to throw Mitch Clark's way if we'd already spent it trying to keep Scully. Much happier seeing Mitch Clark in the team than I'm disappointed that ol mate did a bolter.
  11. Whatevs, I am fkn loving Mitch Clark.
  12. Well I feel sheepish.
  13. Would prefer to pull back the banjo a touch.
  14. Ya'll gather round now and I'll tell ye's a story 'bout the Meeyylbon Deeemons! Hot diggity dawg!
  15. Just happy round 1 has started.
  16. Hope you gave him [censored] for tripping over his own feet and still taking that mark. So good.
  17. Thinking I'll start training and take on this role. Soon as I can get these bloody robot legs working.
  18. Agree with the posters above, you've summed that up really well Nasher. In response to you rpfc, I think Tassie'd be able to get the funds together, even if not comfortably and I think it'd be great exposure for a state that I'd agree is struggling. I also reckon Taswegians would happily get behind our probably rubbish footy team. But yeh, there's never going to be enough insentive for the AFL to take a punt on a Tassie footy team and I'm not heaps disappointed, at least it means we can support anyone we want and I can rag on my younger brother whenever the Dees destroy the Bombers. Which hopefully keeps happening. The Launceston Hawks vs the Hobart Roos'll be a great thing. Re: Paula Wreidt, she's probably in a better place to speak up now she's out of the government. She gets to run rampant without worrying about political correctness or making enemies with anyone. The Tassie government'll want to stay on the good side of the AFL whether we get our own team or not.
  19. Funding was never an issue. They had a $5 million sponsorship with Mars even before the bid went through. On top of that the facilities are already set up both in Hobart and Launceston. I can see where expanding markets would come into play, as Tassie is already getting steady crowds of 17k and GWS have plenty to expand on considering the 751 that rocked up to the NAB Cup at Manuka.
  20. Rest in peace big man. You're a true inspiration.
  21. I'm thinking 12th-14th, but it's great seeing that 1st up there.
