Always such a downer stuie. I genuinely enjoyed watching the game today, drunk as I was. Feel like we've become the mighty ducks and neeld is our emilio estevez. Still, what was enjoyable was I felt like we were better than last week. Neeld & co are moulding us into something and I think what some people are missing is that we're a rubbish team and you can't just get angry to solve the problem. It's rough but the bailey/prendegast era has quietly [censored] us, this is rough, feel free to have your whinge about that, BUT right now we have possibly the best coaching structure in the league and finally have some decent facilities to go with it. So if there was ever a time to jump on the bandwagon and place your blind dumb undeserving faith in this team, it's now. You can see now why so much of preseason was spent on fitness cos we can be competitve for a quarter and then we have nothing left. The [censored] that this coaching group has inherited very sadly needs to be rebuilt from the foundations up, I'd hope everyone can see that. Maybe going in and tweaking or whatever, getting something simpler happening would get us to 9th for a few years but what they're trying to do is get us to finally win that premiership asap and so we're dealing with the garbage now for the diamonds later. For whatever reason, I'm more optimistic about this team than ever and will keep going along to each game to watch us get hammered because I believe we're finally headed in the right direction. So whinge all you like, whatever floats your boat. See you on the other side. TL:DR Ride the wave, cos a premiership's comin. Also... so drunk.

Agree with ol mate jumping jack, not heaps happy with the big russian who's somehow become the most predictable ruckman in the league. Starting to make me physically angry everytime he handpasses it to someone under pressure after every mark or free kick and after every bloody tapout that goes straight down to his feet. Two things you have to do as an opposition team: send one player to your ruckman's advantage and one straight under jamar, then everytime he has a free kick run around behind him cos that's where he's gonna be handpassing it.

It was the only decision in the end, really solid presser from Cam Schwab today. Totally rapt and proud to be a demon. Gonna have to pick up some gaffa tape for my now even more limited edition Reach guernsey.

Loved the press conference from Jack after the attacks on Neeld. Definitely something about this guy, he just oozes leadership. Gives me some hope for the future.

I don't think the idea is just swapping out the underperformers, it's cutting out the guys with no heart or a mad desire to be the best AFL player they can be. So you cut away Blease, Davey, whoever else lacks that heart, and bring in people like Couch, McDonald and maybe Dunn, not because they'll perform better and maybe they won't, but because they'll give their all and so they deserve to be there. No, 'guys with heart' won't win us games in the short-term, but it's where we need to start considering our previous player development strategy apparently consisted of singalongs around a campfire and pats on the back for getting on an AFL list. And I think this has been glossed over a lot when demonlanders have criticised Neeld. He's said in interviews that he's barely even gone into the details of his game-plan yet because the coaching staff have had to start with trying to instill individual players with that desire to work their arse off and push past their limits that so many of them seem to be missing. That whatever it is that makes a player want to push themselves to go from B/C grader to an elite player. This won't happen overnight and unfortunately for some of them, it never will. More words, whatever, that's all this is. Anyway, I think our coaching staff is on the right track. See what happens.

Chris Judd said in an interview a few weeks back that one of his biggest motivators was 'fear' and considered it a positive thing. That video of Bailey patting everyone on the head and going spare because they won a match just makes me feel weird. Much prefer the hardass whose respect you have to earn approach, like James Earl Jones in Best of the Best. It's like that moment in the movie where it goes black and white and baby Tommy drops his ice cream. Do you want that? Do you want one of our players to take a back-kick to the head from a Korean who doesn't care if they live or die? No! They must be ready! Neeld will make them ready.

All I can say about this loss is that I am fkn shattered.

We wouldn't have been able to have both in the team because we wouldn't have had the money to throw Mitch Clark's way if we'd already spent it trying to keep Scully. Much happier seeing Mitch Clark in the team than I'm disappointed that ol mate did a bolter.

Whatevs, I am fkn loving Mitch Clark.
