Yeh, I respect what you have to say even if it comes across as somewhat jaded a lot of the time. Just find it interesting the different positions we come from.

I dunno, it's a good question. I started barracking for Melbourne when I was in school because Woewodin was my favourite player and have stuck with the Dees ever since. I don't mind that we're no good now because this is my team and I'll stick with them through whatever. The longer the dark patches go, the better it'll be when we finally come good. Just one of those tragic Dees supporters who loves them without anything rational behind I think. My family was big on sticking with your team regardless. So, catch em young enough, convince em you can't switch teams once you've decided and you've got supporters for life.

The difference between you and me and is that you see a team that was once great and has been shite for the last 47 years. I barrack for a team that has always been shite as long as I can remember and will one day rise from the ashes. But then, I have another 47 years to wait around for a premiership. Hopefully neither of us have to wait that long.

WYL, mate... you're not speaking on behalf of the rest of us. I'm facepalming so hard I think I cracked my skull.

I brought in a few Chinese mates. Only bought membership for one of them though, the other ones just tell people they barrack for Melbourne and would like the Dees on Facebook if it wasn't banned. I'll start spreading the word if we end up getting a presence over there. Only basing it on my trips to watch games at the pub in Canberra, it's pretty obvious our membership is aging. Always me and a bunch of old blokes barracking for Melbourne and any young folk in there always end up barracking for the other team. Freo, Adelaide, Geelong, whoever. Think me and a mate are the only people under 30 in Canberra that go for the Dees. (I can't back that up)

Glad someone's with me on this. Drives me nuts.

Check out the video for the interview, it comes across much better than the article does. I've got no problem with what Jack had to say. I have stopped reading Matt Burgan articles though. Cliched, over-emotional crap that makes me want to punch through a wall.

I remember his first game back after his first lay-off and he played the best game he has for the year, drifting around the half forward line and it's slowly dropped away again as the rest of the season's gone on. Think there were plenty of people behind him after that one, including myself. Right now, I'd be happy for him to stay another season but wouldn't be shattered if he doesn't. One thing I am happy with, is that he's no longer gifted games. Shame it's come so late in the season as it may be too late for the hard lessons to sink in. Think he would thrive with another Neeld/Misson pre-season under his belt and being able to further adjust to playing his part under a new, much younger leadership group.

Did you notice we lost today? Think Sylvia got enough crap for that already. Sounded to me like he's happy where he is and plans to be part of this team moving forward.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Yossarian replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jack's listed for Casey this week though there's an unexplained asterix next to his name. Anyone heard any word on this? He'll be playing in just his second VFL match and lining up against Wojinski again if it happens. -
POLL: Do you want Mark Neeld to remain coach in 2013?
Yossarian replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Should start a poll asking if there's anyone left who hasn't blocked thaipantsman yet. -
POLL: Who Needs To Go? ... The Fans Decide

Where's that ignore button? -
Not for mine. We don't have the culture to turn this kind of guy around at the moment, though I feel for him. We need guys who can come in and give it their all and bring the rest of the boys up with them.

POLL: Who Needs To Go? ... The Fans Decide
Yossarian replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Alright, so if you come into a hundred year old company on a 3 year contract and told to sort out a group of 40 men that have been consistently horrendous for the last 5 years, how long should you be given to turn the place around? 6 months? -
POLL: Who Needs To Go? ... The Fans Decide

What's that even mean? What would you be doing that'd have us all wanting to bail? -
Ssshhhhhhh

Meh, just let it play out kids. Save your soapbox for if we're rubbish this time next year.
-
Ah my bad, must've been carried away with the song. Awesome stuff.

He's rated 2-3 in the draft, has been touted as a natural leader and one of the hardest players to ever come through the system, we've already been training him for a year so almost comes in as a 2nd year prospect, and he loves the MFC so in all likelihood is gonna stick around. We're probably taking him at number 3. I think we'll survive.

Mitch Clark good to go.

http://m.heraldsun.c...f-1226410495726 Matthew Richardson offering to help Mitch recover. The offer's cool but the way he explains it has me worried, I was hoping to think of Mitch's injury as a 'wait out until pre-season 2013 and he'll be good as new' but it's looking like a messed up injury. Richo's saying he had to wear orthotics the rest of his career and the change in his running style contributed to frequent hamstring injuries. Really don't want to a see situation with Mitch where he can only string a limited number of games together before he's down again. Wtf footy gods? ACL wouldn't suffice? Had to snap that damn tendon in the middle of his foot. Wish him all the best in his recovery and hope that he can be back to his old self in 2013. Minus any ongoing hamstring issues or whatever.

I'll be surprised if he's not moved on on once his contract runs out at season's end. I like Garland in the forward line but I think we need him down back negating the smalls now that Bartram's out for the season. I don't think we have anyone else who can do a decent job at it for the moment. Maybe MacDonald on a good day.
