Is this draft abnormally slow?

Talented as all of Parish, Oliver and Milera seem to be, it would be pretty disappointing to not come out of this draft with a key fwd.

I see it as making us marketable. The colours especially make us stand out, the logo is simple and recognisable and the most important thing is associating the football club with the city. Do that and we'll attract a lot more people to the club. You don't need to bleed red & blue to be a fan of coffee and live music. I really like we're there going with this. It's bigger than a new logo or coming 9th rather than 13th and expect it will pay dividends.

Yeah, I agree with all this. Thanks. Playing VFL as an AFL listed player still seems a better life to me, even if your ceiling has already been reached, but hopefully he'd see it as the greater good for the team to be paid out. Pedersen was told he probably wouldn't get a game if he played like he did last year and then came good, despite injury. I don't see it as a foregone conclusion that Terlich is paid out, even if I hope it is.

Carlisle was never worth pick 5. Essendon are still heavily overrating their players, just lucky for them we were happy to pay the overrated price. Dodoro coming out later and saying he probably could've pushed us for something better shows the sort of trade negotiators they are.
