  1. I'm in as well. My girlfriend and I leaving the ground tonight got in the lift on level 3, doors opened on Level 2 and Don McLardy stepped in to the lift, he look devastated. His face was white as ghost and was just looking at the top of lift. I was feeling so bad after the 2nd week of watching this rubbish but when I saw his face he just looked so upset himself. I told him on the way out of the lift that we will be here(at MCG) next week supporting the club. He thanked me and went to the rooms. We need to stay strong as a club. I hate seeing all these people saying they will give up on the club. It's not going well at the moment, which is an understatement, if the supporters stick with the club that is the only way things will turn around. We need passionate supporters who will stand by the club not leave when things get tough.
  2. Just listening to SEN and they are saying about suppliments taken in pre season 2012 This explains why they were so good in the first half of the season then dropped off in the 2nd half
  3. Great work William. You are spot on with what you have written. Paul Johnson was very fast for his size and even last season if you listen to MMM during a game Spud frawley always says he can't understand why melbourne don't push Chip forward more. The one time we try it we get called for tanking. I'm also pretty sure that we had 2 injuries in the first half of the game as well but that is glossed over.
  4. Personally I like the idea of the song before the game starts. I think it has been reported incorrectly about an entrance song or theme song that every club is going to have. I go to a lot of games at the G and have heard Richmond play Welcome to the Jungle by guns ‘n’roses as their song last year. They still play “Yellow & Black” as they run out and the away team still has their song played as they run out. The song is played between the captains tossing the coin and the first bounce and is only for about 45-60seconds. Essendon have the big air raid siren and I think that works as well. I don’t know if it was a good choice of song or a good idea but I think it worked, people got a little more excited as the ball bounced compared to other games I’ve been to and that’s what is all about, getting people involved in the game, a little bit more entertainment and people having fun. Who knows, we might get more than 20,000 to a game if they are having fun….a win or two would probably help that as well. If you don’t like the song then just time your beer or pie run so you miss it, that’s what I do with the guy and his trumpet. I can’t stand it but I’m sure there are people that love the trumpeter and good luck to them, they are enjoying the experience of going to the footy. I don't mind a bit of metallica to get fired up before a game maybe For whom the bell tolls or Seek and Destory
  5. Good to get another Big body and I hope we get the Dawes from 2011 and not 2012 otherwise we have probably paid overs for him Still it's exciting times to be a Dees fan.
  6. I went to the game, sat on level 4 on the wing in the MCC. Went along with my borther and his wife and kids(all essendon), my girlfriend came along who was formally Fitzroy supporter and has not followed a team since, but she has come with me to 3 dees games this year, so went to the Demon Shop before the game to get her a dees scarf. My nephew kept on showing us the ladder and the dees at the bottom with no wins, I just sat there quietly until Garland kicked that goal in the last and I lost it, gave a few good fist pumps in the air. When the siren went I just jump up and screamed...9 weeks of frustration gone. Took a photo of the girlfriend with the dees scraf to send to her dad who is also a essendon supporter and we went home and watched the reply on foxtel til 1am.....great night.
  7. I went to the game this afternoon, my thoughts:- Davey I think played well. Looked a little like his old self, selling some candy in traffic also a bit of dodging and weaving, had a really good second half I thought. He chased and laid a few tackles, Maybe bring him in for Blease I was also impressed with Cook. Took a couple of nice marks but didn't kick straight, i might be wrong but i think he kicked 3 or 4 behinds, most were kickable, he probably should have had 5 or 6. Still a little skinny but he did keep on presenting Couch I didn't notice get too many touches. J. Tynan got crunched in a tackle at one stage but got right back up, so good to see he is a little tough nut. again I didn't think he got much of the ball but he is listed in the best players so I might be wrong. I thought his brother was better. Petterd I saw him running around but didn't really notice him do too much. J Sheahan was good. I think he played mainly down back but he had a few touches in the middle of the ground in the last qtr. Looks pretty composed when got the ball and he has some good size. Fitzpatrick - he was servicable. Had flashes where he showed his pace which is good for a big man and a couple of good hitouts when backup in the ruck. Bate - Seemed to always be around the play and had many touches, did the team things, liked his game. I'm no footy expert so others may have a different opinion to what i saw but when you win by almost 10 goals there isn't too many bad players
  8. I think most of us lost some respect for Matthews when he had a go at Jack Watts after his second game. Having a crack at an 18yr old in his 2nd game when he kicks a couple of goals and takes some handy marks. Now he is saying that Clark will not be as good a recruit as Hudson is just ridiculous. Hudson will be lucky to play 10 games for the lions before he retires for a second time and Mitch will be with us for the next 6-8 years. Sometimes these old commentators make stupid comments to seem relivent...you can say the same thing about Malthouse.
  9. I think we need to keep in mind that alot of people buy their memberships at the first game and during the last week before the 1st game. When compared to last year the 22nd March was on only 5 days before our first home game, this season it is 9 days away( with a weekend inbetween). I think we would be better comparing what it is the monday after our first home game.
  10. As I understand it, if a team bids of Jack we have to select him with our next pick after their bid. Therefore in your scenario if #1 & #2 do not bid and we have pick#3 and pick #4 is bid, we can pick whoever with Pick #3 and he would have to be selected with our next pick, in your example Pick#21
  11. Jurrah - 48 Goals Howe, Green, Clark - 35 goals each would be nice. The good sides spread the goals around
