  1. Finds the side exit locked, having to backtrack across stage again. Spies a cheese platter on a front table, snatches it. Vintage cheddar filling gob, sings Grand Old Flag, does the panning out money gesture, moves to front entrance. 'FU Buckley'
  2. Out of the Tomlinson, Elliot and Langdon, for mine, Langdon will end up the best get. I'm a little ambivalent about Tomlinson and Elliot will need to get on the park more. Happy enough if two out of the three do well. Then we aim to do well with the kids at the pointy end. I'd love MFC to take a punt on Kemp and they may if they have those three in the bag.
  3. Is he any relation to John Rantall, South?
  4. He's got Elliot staying in a multi
  5. I wasn't exactly averse to Lucas Cook
  6. Kane Cornes' musings have always been incredibly, vitally important to me.
  7. The one that will step up for us significantly (and we started to see a bit late in the year) will be Petty imo. Remember, he's very young and another pre-season should make a world of difference.
  8. The argument for keeping pick 3 is that we control our own destiny. Splitting it may mean we pick up a gem who went lower than expected but it also may mean that we end up missing out on who we're after.
  9. Look, I still like Kemp. I know the ACL impacted his season (obviously) but I think he's one that a number of clubs may end up saying 'why didn't we...'. If we were able to split the pick and somehow grab him and a Sharp or Bergman I'd be wrapped. I don't think so though. Very easy to overthink here. At least i do.
  10. Dazzle, I'm loving that you're all over this. I'm a little like you in that I'm undecided about the value of splitting pick three. You mentioned Bergman in another thread. I'm wondering whether we would look at him as the second banana if we did split the pick? I know you liked Sharp as well. Would you have Sharp ahead of him, granted they're different players.
  11. You're right of course BBO. I fleetingly imagined us as a club without direction and significant financial backing. And with players not knocking down the door to join us. That won't happen again. Nurse, my medication please.
  12. My wordy yes BBO. Do you remember when all the Carlton players (I'm talking 30 years ago) used to finish up at StKilda? Please don't let us become that.
  13. Well, it's all academic AF. Looks like he's joining us and good luck to him. Some urgency to his game could make me a convert.
  14. Why ridiculous? Both were/are seen as surplus to the needs of the GWS footy club. Whether they played most games or few games, that's the end result. Jaksch was seen as a player who could fill a gap, he was of similar size and seen by the Blues as able to play several possies. I suspect we see Tomlinson as in a similar mold but with more ability. And what bit about 'I'm a little concerned' don't you get? It means that I'm not sold on him. I have been underwhelmed by his last few games. I'm not alone. Would you prefer that I tell you he's the second coming? He's not but if he comes to the club I hope he does well and, as mentioned, I hope I'm wrong.
  15. I'm a little concerned that he may be for us what Kristian Jaksch was for Carlton. I get that he may be a role player and so forth. I just think the bloke seems to lack urgency and a bit of mongrel. Hope I'm wrong.
  16. Not denying they're a big club but I reckon Richmond now has as many faux supporters as Hawthorn when they were travelling. And that's saying something.
  17. Top 4 it is Ben E. You told me this season was an aberration and I'm willing, albeit reluctantly, to accept your wisdom on the matter. Burgess, yeah that's his name. And Inokashira Park it is.
  18. I think the same Swooper.
  19. Not sure if I've created a new topic before so forgive me if this bloke's been covered. But I do like the look of Brodie Kemp, given we will probably be bumped down one. https://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/26483254/shades-bont-brodie-kemp-continues-rise He did his knee in July? but at 192 cm and with acceleration in the contest, he appeals. In a perfect world we'd split our pick and get another inside the first round (doubt it). It's whether the club can be patient, knowing that he wouldn't make his debut until the 2020 Prelim. And besides, I can't get my head around a Caleb Serong at 178cm as a pick three. Wonder if anyone else here has him as high as me?
  20. A few things stuck out for me last night. Firstly, Fyfe is an extraordinary talent but is also just as impressive off the field. When he spoke about preparation and dedication to the 'craft' of leadership, it was hard not to reflect on where we're at as a club in respect to this. Secondly, he was number 20 in the draft. His journey was not a simple one but it reinforces that the elite of our game are not often the number one draft picks. Finally, what I wouldn't give for us to find an out and out midfield star like him....just one in my lifetime.
  21. If Anderson is available and we don't pick him we may as well shut up shop. Or re-draft Lucas Cook
  22. Max Gawn is a champion.
  23. I'm backing Stephenson to make a difference. So is he.
