I wached the Casey game and I didn't really see any stand-out performers that warrant a call up . I loved that Dunn ,Bate ,Davey ,Rivers ,Garland had good games and Sellar was solid .All these guys are blue collar and earned their pay. Gysbert ,Struass ,Martin and Petterd stood out in the twos as AFL ready but Bennell couldn't get involved in it . The Tynans looked good but not special .As did Couch .Spencer looks unco . The only guy who I think needs more opportunity is Jetta when fit . Players that are needing a break or a game in the twos are clearly Beamer ,Morton ,Jamar ,and J.MacDonald. Bail ,Martin ,Ricky P and Gysberts are the only serious contenders for a call up . I dont believe we need to debut these kids until they earn it . Tynans ,Couch Matthews ,Cook ,Spencer,Lawrence etc need to really earn the honour by dominatinating the VFL . Edit JMac.

I'd keep him kicking out with those torps every time!That was nearly a 6 second goal to us . Bate and Dunn are good honest players and there is not much coming through to replace them . Gysberts and Viney look more like pushing out Beamer at this stage I reckon. I love Beamer but yesterday I could see that he only really paddles along and has no real pace. We looked good yeasterday because we had zip with Blease and Nicho going well . Tom Mc is a top notch player despite some ugly looking disposal at times-but he was extremely effective rebounding with JW. The only sad part yesterday was seeing Beamer having lost all pace .

The hook across the body is becoming more preferrred as a method because they can get more foot behind the ball and there is less chance of error than with a drop punt(an inch left or right can be a big difference) .I dont care as long as they go through . Mitch can do them the old way for you .

We dont need any more mentals at Melbourne but I'm happy the AFL invented a bogus team for kids and retirees up in West Sydney . I've met Sheedy a couple of times and he was never in posseeion of his marbles . Having said that-it's a simple game-and Sheedy is a performer as much as" brains trust" .
