Eagles may chalk up their first win of the season over the Saints.

Sharp for Viney would just about do it. Spargo probably gets a reprieve with the dees win but first half wasn't great. Fritsch to start now as long as he keeps bringing that intensity. Edit: forgot Lever, will he need another run at Casey? If not it will probably mean Turner forward and Johnson out.

Now that's a game I'll watch happily again. What an effort from the boys. Was worried about our mental capacity to see the game out given our recent history but we've pushed through and won that last quarter convincingly. 4 goals 8 vs 1 goal 1.

I would imagine it would be the same position as Kalani White is in this year. Can choose either.

Upon doing some research, it appears that U16 f/s prospects Oliver Green and Tex Robertson will be eligible to be drafted by the Tassie Devils under "father/son" rules which only require there parents to be from Tasmania and have played 100 games. Their draft year is 2028, one year after the Devils currently planned introduction.

Had a very good first half, took several marks and lead up at the ball. Took a couple shots around the 50metre arc. Didn't do much in the second half but neither did the rest of the team really.

Apologies if this has already been posted but both Amartey (3 weeks) and McInerney (1 week) have been suspended and will miss our game next week unless successful on appeal.

Too many reactive flat-footed players getting burnt on turnover and the less said about our kicking skills the better. Thought Woewodin, Brown and Adams were our best and Jefferson could have had a reasonable game if he had of converted his chances. Disappointed with Tholstrups performance after being dropped. Should probably play him through the midfield more to get him around the ball. Think we should try JvR in defence, looked good in his U18s level as a defender and has the tools to play there.

Different Oliver Green, played for Sandy dragons last year if I'm not mistaken. Brads son is only 14 or 15.

Hard not to disagree. Has been one of Casey's best everytime he plays and has watched Henderson, Sharp, Tholstrup, Melksham, Spargo all jump the queue... some warranted, some off zero form. Needs a fresh start and deserves the chance to be elevated to AFL level at a club that actually rewards form. Sounds like our club won't give it to him. Disappointing when so many of our mid/fwd players have been out of form this year.

Bench will most likely be Turner, Petty, Lindsay, Chandler Sub out of Laurie, Johnson, Howes, Fullarton My tip would be Laurie.

It's not about rating him or not. He's got deficiencies in his game, as all u18s do. Good news for him is that the season is still young and he has athletic ability most players would kill for. But there's a reason he's not mentioned as a first or even second round prospect at this stage. I've watched him live numerous times and have questions marks on parts of his game that his athleticism somewhat masks. He doesn't dominate the air like he should for his size and athleticism, his intercept marks aren't a big feature of his game, he doesn't have sticky hands and double grabs a lot. He lacks a degree of competitiveness, his running patterns, defensice iq and body work isnt great and his work rate requires improvement. He has a gap between his best and worst footy, lacking consistency in performance. And at u18 and representive level he hasn't featured in the best players. Don't mean to get a downer. He's still a prospect, but a project player is what he will be in my view. Others will see it differently, that's just my opinion.

Definitely a throw. Should have had two free kicks inside 2 seconds.

I was at that game with a St Kilda mate. Pretty sure I was cheering harder than him when Higgins kicked the winner. Felt partially ashamed at the time because I never wanted to be back hoping for a better draft spot, but what a win it's proving to be for our club.

Kicked 3 goals and named in the bests for the stingrays in their 1 point loss to the Northern Knights.

Now confirmed by Goody post match that Viney entered protocols on Thursday and won't play against Brisbane next week.

In: Petty, Viney, Melksham, Laurie Out: Jefferson, Fritsch, Oliver, Tholstrup I'm not a huge wrap for Sharp but at least he is fit and will give repeat efforts. Tholstrup doesn't look quite ready and not sure why we rushed him in off injury. Doubt Oliver gets dropped but was a liability today with some of his efforts. Give jeffo at least a month in the VFL to find and consolidate form. Reward Laurie for being one of Casey's best consistently, even if only as sub.

Nothing [censored] me more than seeing an opposition player get stuck into one of our young players and not a single teamate coming into help.
