  1. From AFL website Cal Twomeys top 25 prospects last updated in October https://www.afl.com.au/news/514307/cal-twomey-s-2020-phantom-form-guide-october-update And his next best 15 prospects https://www.afl.com.au/news/515600/phantom-form-guide-extra-the-next-15-prospects Draft resources from alleged informed U18 observers on Bigfooty Knightmares Draft resource https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/knightmare-2020-draft-almanac.1234618/ eDPS Draft resource https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/edps-draft-watch-2020.1237689/
  2. About to head out but here's a link from the AFL website article derived from his interview on trade radio. https://www.afl.com.au/news/524255/it-hurts-jaidyn-lets-rip-on-buckley-messy-magpie-exit
  3. Change that to Treloar and I'd be happier. 18 I think is too much for Phillips giving they're trying to get rid of him. Guess Tmac balances that out to a degree.
  4. Gave collingwood a little clip on the way out. Wonder how some of their remaining players are feeling watching how their now former teammates are being treated.
  5. Somewhat left field suggestion, Pick 18 for Treloar with Pies paying 300K per annum.
  6. Not sure what we're up to but I like it. Don't think we're done yet either, we now have 18, 19 and 28 and 50 in this years draft and we're only missing a first round from next year which we can always trade back into. The good thing about getting this done early is we have more control over our destiny. For an example, if we waited Essendon might have tempted Brisbane with either pick 7 or 8 and the split assets might have been used elsewhere to get other deals done. Now clubs can come to us to negotiate.

  8. What do you mean by gone backwards? Points are really only a value guide for father son and academy players. If you're worried that we have given more points to get to pick 14 or whatever it may be, then you probably just need to remove the points value from you train of thought and simplify it. Kid at 14 is probably better than either at 25 or 28. And we will have a target or two in mind I'm sure.
  9. We're looking at a potentially significant upgrade to the future 4th round pick here. We only have the Lions future 4th while they only have theirs. Could be swapping 72 for 55. Nice little bonus.
  10. Would also love to somehow steal Caldwell from the bombers and for them to miss out on Dunkley
  11. Pick 31 for Ben Brown Pick 26, 33, 50 for Bulldogs pick 14 and future 4th Parma, chips and pint at the pub. Should be a good day.
  12. Intriguing if true that we haven't offered any of our second rounders. Our next picks are 43 and 50 and we don't have a future second to offer either.
  13. Appears destined to stay at Collingwood, after Hawthorn described a move for his signature as "unlikely" earlier this week. There had been murmurs of interest from Melbourne, but the Demons have since focused their attentions elsewhere. Phillips is contracted at the Pies for next season, but would ideally like to return to a wing position after being played as a high half-forward throughout much of the past year. – Riley Beveridge From AFL website
  14. I have no idea why but I like the kid and want him to make it.
  15. It's interesting, Mahoney is usually efficient in getting these deals done and we're rarely involved in player trades on the last day that I can recall. Have we got something else brewing, be it player or pick upgrade that's stifling the deal? Or is it just North playing hardball...
  16. Well, Kane is just plane wrong there. Indicative draft order from AFL website still has Cats holding 13, 15 and 20. That may well blow out on draft night with Academy bids but as there are no more free agency compensation picks being handed out so the order of the picks won't change until then.
  17. Sorry playing catch up here. *A three-way trade between Brisbane, North Melbourne and Western Bulldogs has taken place North Melbourne received - Lachie Young and a 4th round pick (70) Brisbane received - a 4th round pick (63) Western Bulldogs received - Stefan Martin *Trade between Carlton and Geelong Carlton received - Lachlan Fogarty and pick a 2nd round pick (38) Geelong received - a 2nd round pick (30) and 4th round pick (50) *Trade between Brisbane and Geelong Brisbane received - Nakia Cockatoo Geelong received - Future 3rd selection (tied to Melbourne) *Trade between Carlton and Essendon Carlton received - Adam Saad and a 3rd round pick (48) and a 4th round pick (78) Essendon received - a 1st round pick (8) and 5th round pick (87) *Trade between Port Adelaide and Sydney Port Adelaide received - Aliir Aliir Sydney received - future 2nd round selection *Trade between Geelong and North Melbourne Geelong received - Shaun Higgins North received - 2nd round pick (30)
  18. It's a fair point, my random thoughts are that they don't own the stadium, they're a tenant. That there would/should be a set percentage of seats allocated to reserve seating and general admission. Every other afl ground that I'm aware of in the afl have a dedicated cheersquad section behind one of the goals. And maybe I'm naive in my way of thinking but general sportsmanship and courtesy to visiting teams?
  19. I reckon you're overthinking it. Just because it sounds like an amazing deal doesn't mean its too good to be true. We've done our due diligence with a medical and are going in with eyes wide open. And if he doesn't work out, we won't have paid the earth for him in either trade currency or salary. Can't see the downside to be honest.
  20. Gold Coast can automatically list any player in their Academy without using any picks. Part of their ridiculously generous draft concessions. So they won't be trading out early picks for points.
  21. Not disagreeing necessarily, I wouldn't mind having him on a cheap short term contract. But the way Jason Taylor talked about Pickett last year as a rare small forward with special ability and our lack of public interest leads me to think we aren't considering him. Also have to question why he's on the outer at saints who play a small forward line and have been actively recruiting in that area. Probably on the outer for a reason. And the bulldogs have been interested in a small forward for years, and were linked to him at one stage this trade period, have distanced themselves while recruiting Hannan instead. Who knows, maybe this one will get done quietly as a surprise late trade for a nothing pick. I will be neither excited or disappointed.
  22. He's the type of player we need, I just don't know if he's good enough for us to be interested.
  23. So close!
  24. Only hazarding a guess here but I'm pretty sure it's fine if the pick was traded in a previous year. Last year when we did a pick swap for Langdon sending them pick 22? Later when we were trying to organise a pick swap to move 8 to 10 with freo, we were blocked from receiving the same pick 22 that we traded, instead involving I think it was Adelaide receiving 28 and Carltons future 4th. But since the bulldogs traded that pick 33 to Adelaide last year, I don't think there is anything preventing them receiving it this year. Can't confirm though.
