  1. We may get multiple first round picks for Freo. Unless he shoots up into top 3 calculations I wouldn't rule him out yet.
  2. Yep, Cadman would be perfect for us in my view.
  3. This is half the reason I want us to recruit Cadman at the end of the year. Gun key forwards are exceptionally rare and difficult to obtain. We haven't had a proper one since Neitz and have had to do with average NQRs since. 15 years of having the likes of Michael Newton, Jack Watts, Chris Dawes, Mitch Clarke, Ben Brown, Tom McDonald (the best and worst of him) and Weideman "spearheading" our forward line. Now Taylor will have more of an idea of Cadman is the quality I hope him to be, and JvR shows promise who will need a partner in crime, but unless we're exceptionally lucky we will have to draft and grow our own.
  4. But with Jackson one foot out the door, we will have a budgeted 600-800k per year freed up. We allegedly could fit both in our cap earlier in the year and now we can't fit either? Doesn't sound right.
  5. Hopefully not because of h&s protocols.
  6. Yet I'm sure she conveniently ignored Richmond's then coach Terry Wallace stating on record he was worried about losing access to Trent Cotchin and refused to make any coaching moves to help win them the game.
  7. I'd show him the door after he's helped us win a second premiership.
  8. Bedford earlier in the year stated he would love to stay here. Probably looking at a 3rd round pick (40-45) in terms of trade value.
  9. Last line in the article states there is little likelihood we would lose both Jackson and Brayshaw. Not sure how they came to that conclusion.
  10. Good ins but still think we need another tall.
  11. Article from afl.com highlights rival interest in Deven Robertson, who was once the target for demon recruiters before being selected with the first pick in the 2nd round of the 2019 draft by the Lions. "THE STRENGTH of Brisbane's midfield has seen ball-winner Deven Robertson come under rival interest ahead of the off-season. And he's among a number of Lions who have been in and out of the side this season who have garnered attention from other clubs. Robertson is contracted for next year at the Lions, but that hasn't stopped clubs enquiring about the West Australian as a trade option after five senior appearances this season." Edit: sorry for font and spacing, cut and pasting messed it up and hard to adjust on mobile.
  12. Bit of a review of the two games at Geelong on Sunday.
  13. Do you mean Petty forward and retain Tomlinson for this week or a medium/long term plan for next year onwards?
  14. If he was asked about it, it was edited out of the uploaded video.
  15. Surely not? We can match any deal as he's a RFA and freo will have nothing left to trade. Unless we get a Young or Serong I don't see why we would let him walk.
  16. He was all the rage on here during his draft year, can't say I've really kept tabs on him since. Has he been performing well at VFL level? And will he be a lead up forward or the "prototype" big bodied mid do you think?
  17. This or something similar is probably the best deal we can get imv. Don't think we are at risk of losing brayshaw. Even if freo made a play for him, he'll be a RFA and we can match any terms, particularly in the setting of Jackson leaving. They will then have absolutely zero trade capital to get him so a deal won't be done. Or they start trading players like Serong or Young which I can't see happening.
  18. Is fit to play this weekend is my understanding.
  19. Was listening to SEN on the way to the shops and they said they will have an injury update on demons Oliver, Lever and Ben Brown later in the show. Not sure when and can't listen now. Anyone know of a potential injury to Ben?
  20. I'm with @Demon3 here. Most of our salary cap is tied up with our contracted existing list that we're trying to keep together long term. We need to balance that out by adding high quality youth rather than costly ready made players unless they fill a specific need (back-up ruck, key forward etc..). This allows us room to improve contract offers down the track to retain deserving players that start cementing themselves in the 22. Think JvR, Howes, Laurie, Turner etc... Otherwise we will start haemorrhaging best 22 players we want to keep because our salary cap will be constantly buldging and they won't get the remuneration they deserve. Also for those that haven't clued on, Demon3 has good mail. I'm tipping this isn't a guess on his/her behalf but rather a statement of fact. Edit: I think we are also planning as best we can to keep our window open for as long as possible. All good to say our window is now, but I would rather keep it open for another 10 years instead of 2.
  21. Harley Reid stands out so much already as a bottom ager, real talent for next year and should go high I would imagine.
  22. Good to see George come in at number 15 who I believe @dazzledavey36 has a bit to do with. In the event we either trade up or Jackson leaves and we obtain a first round pick (or two) we have some decent prospects to choose from. I've made it known here that I'm keen on KPF Cadman but would be equally as happy with Jefferson while I think Sheezel and Phillipou are potential stars in the making. Harry Barnett by far the best ruck prospect in it with athleticism and skill. Possible that we will luck out with Emile-Brennan sliding to +40
  23. Hasn't officially nominated yet but presume he will. Jaspa Fletcher also another decent f/s prospect for them this year. They're going to need a lot of draft points to match, big opportunity for clubs to upgrade picks with them this year.
  24. West Coast having the 1st pick in the psd might actually help by incentivising freo to bring us the best possible deal or risk losing him to their cross town rival.
