Dees considering big trade plays
Not much given away from Jason Taylor on afl.coms draft stream today. However he did infer that it's highly unlikely we will be able to trade into the top end of the draft.

Highlights of a player we have been loosely linked to.

Dees Target Pick 19
Not sure I understand the logic behind our alleged interest in pick 19 before the draft. It's a good pick to have coming into the draft as you can leverage a lot out of it come night 2. So GWS are in a good position to capitalise there. Obviously we won't know who's available until the first round is done, so if we are targeting a player we would make a play for 19 after the first round is done. Doesn't really make sense either to pay a premium to get pick 19 just to then try and on sell it again for more draft capital.

Welcome to Demonland Pick 13
The "for some clubs" part is interesting...

Dees considering big trade plays
Pick 13 would have to be included as well I would imagine otherwise I can't see a team even entertaining it for a top 5 pick.

Dees considering big trade plays
Suspect it would be for Ginbey.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Its difficult to project with U18s let alone key forward prospects. Last year Lemmey and Scully were the talk of the town and they look to be late draft/rookie prospects currently, while Cadman wasn't initially part of the AIS squad and was playing most of his footy on the wing. As it stands Archer Reid (201cm) and Nate Caddy (190cm but allegedly grown past that) are the two front runners that will be in the open pool. Jed Walters (194cm) played some solid footy this year and was the only one of two bottom agers to make the AA team, the other being Harley Reid. However he is part of Gold Coasts academy.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
One article mentioned "some behavioural concerns" while I think I've read somewhere he was a flight risk as well but who really knows.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I can see us doing this as well, but hope we are getting more out of that deal. Perhaps a future 2nd or 3rd. Pick 20 and 26 should be the minimum to get our 13 keeping in mind that it may push out to 14/15 while 20 and 26 may get pushed out as far as 24 and 30/31. If it's 13 for 20 and 26 only, maybe we will look to package up 26 and 37 for essendons 22 if we want to group our selections closer to guarantee the 2 we want (given we only seem likely to take 2 picks).

Has Melbourne linked to Jefferson, Allan, Barnett, George with our 1st pick and Gruzewski with our 2nd if he makes it that far (sounds like he won't.)

Hard to see Adelaide winning this. Everything looks a struggle while Brisbane look dangerous going forward.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Nick Watson is one to keep an eye on as well particularly if Kozzie leaves. Impressive small forward.

Welcome to Demonland Pick 13
Impressive determination to push through the pain barrier of decapitation. Kids made of tough stuff. Well, except his neck I guess.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I really like this kid. Mid/forward with pace and super competitive. He'll be one that you love to support and opposition fans will hate him. Don't think he'll last to pick 37 however.

Harry Barnett
I like Barnett, has looked better in defence when not rucking in my view. Can take a strong contested grab. Not sure he's the go at 13/14 but if we traded down to a couple picks in the 20s I think he's worth looking at. We shouldn't be going into the season with only Grundy and Gawn as recognised rucks and an untried 18yr old Cat B rookie as back up.

LISTEN: Who goes where? AFL.com.au's Mock Draft for 2022 - https://www.afl.com.au/news/866012 Haven't listened to this yet but this is a podcast where Cal Twomey, Nat Edwards and Kevin Sheehan do a mock draft where they select players based on their own thoughts on draftees and club needs. Not to be confused with Cals phantom draft which has more intel on how the draft might actually pan out.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
@Bombay Airconditioning Jefferson missed games at NAB level due to APS commitments with Wesley College. The stats I could find shows he kicked 25 goals in 6 games at that level.

Heard Roamin Brian picked a Dees team...
I was attempting to be a smart alec by taking "PMs only" as Prime Ministers only and completely disregarded the selected team. @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew was impressively quick on the uptake. Stanley Melbourne Bruce was also PM during our 2nd flag in 1926.

Welcome to Demonland Pick 13
Did you watch the second round or is it readily accessible? Interested to see who they had us taking at our second pick and if they had some "project" talls falling in that part of the draft like Keeler, Lemmey, Foster and Van Es.
