Unless we have other plans for the draft with pick 41 we just select him there after he nominates a price on his head. Doubt other clubs will pick him up. Sick of us being reasonable at the table only for other clubs trying to take us for a ride.

Yes

That's as good as it will get for the crows. Wonder if we get a future 3rd or 4th back with it.

Was getting worried to see this thread with a high post count today. Had a huge sigh of relief when it's all come from Kornes. This guy will advise us to move him on this year then have a crack at us next year for poor list management when we have no key position depth. If he moved, he will then claim it as further evidence of poor club culture. Guy is a click bait parasite.

End of first round comp for Gresham.

Interesting. Both Hawthorn and Bulldogs are said to be looking at mid types. If we don't move up it may look like.. Scenario 1 1. Eagles - Reid 2. Gold Coast - Walter 3. North - McKercher 4. North - Duursma 5. Hawks - Watson/Sanders 6. Bulldogs - Watson/Sanders 7. Demons - Curtin, O'Sullivan Scenario 2 1. North - Reid 2. Gold Coast - Walter 3. Eagles - Curtin 4. North - McKercher 5. Hawks - Duursma 6. Bulldogs - Watson/Sanders 7. Demons - Watson/Sanders/O'Sullivan

Only if they select him at 2 or 3 or they trade up into the top 10 with their other picks. They can't match a bid within 40 like everyone else.

They're desperate for key position players yet seem intent on ignoring them, at least early on in the draft. There was an article about them looking to rookie a SA key backman that was previously rookie listed in 2019 with the swans. Toby Pink i think. With Logue out and McKay gone they will definitely need to shore up that part of the ground at some point. If they don't burn all their late first rounders to move up for pick 1, I'd look for them trying to move up to draft O'Sullivan, Murphy or later take Zakostelsky or Dawson.

11 and f1? High price and not sure if worth. But perhaps something comes back the other way. All depends if we see value on going from 11 to 8 for either a player or shot at Reid.

GETTABLE: WA battle for Hawk, Schultz status, 'Harley heist' possible? https://www.afl.com.au/video/1052068 Cal and Riley speculating that Curtin is likely to get through to pick 6 which may open the possibility for us to trade up.

I do wonder if we might still look at a back-up ruck as a DFA or rookie. Sam Hayes and Scott Lycett for Port I believe are out of contract and would come cheap. Not sure we can rely on Fullarton if Gawn goes down and he seems to be more a fwd with a little bit of ruck rather than the other way round.

Its ok, I don't think anyone understood it anyway.

2024 is the year for us landing a big fish in my view.

Its been discussed numerous times by hopeful fans wanting a free early 1st round pick. I haven't heard any genuine media speculation that suggests GWS are actually willing to put up 7 with Haynes.
-
Will he actually though? Haven't heard any noise about this.
-
Wishful thinking it seems

3-way trade perhaps? Melbourne Out: 6, 11, future 1st In: 1 North Melbourne Out: 3, 18 In: Pick 6, 11 West Coast Out: Pick 1 In: Pick 3, 18, Future 1st (melb) Maybe some other picks to balance. Any deal unlikely if Roos are set on Reid.
-
Hawthorn keen on Duursma allegedly. Twomey has mentioned both Watson and Sanders for the dogs. Haven't come acroos a solid link for McKercher yet but he isn't expected to make it out of the top 5.
-
That's my gut feel as well. Targeting roos pick 3 with 6 and 11.
-
Suns were keen to lock away their draft capital early and North or Adelaide would have made compelling offers. We had to pay 'overs' to get it otherwise it would be in one of those clubs hands by the end of today.

Crows getting petty over not getting Petty
