  1. Hmmm. Correctly identified Bowey last year and started a thread on him. Demonland recently had a post which mentioned WJ talking to a recruiter. WJ promoting Howes in previous threads and now started a new thread dedicated to him. WJ clearly with the good sauce 🤔 Welcome to demonland Blake Howes. Or its just a coincidence 🤷.
  2. "Rookie me" mock draft for the first round is out. https://central.rookieme.com/afl/2021/11/24/2021-rookie-me-central-afl-phantom-draft/ Has us taking Brown with Chesser as another option.
  3. Cals late mail. https://www.afl.com.au/news/688887/cal-twomeys-late-mail-spotlight-on-two-clubs-vic-mid-intrigue
  4. So possibly 10 for 17, 37 & 49 perhaps? With bids would look something like In: pick 12 Out: pick 19, 40, 43(ish) If we're getting as high up as 12 then that could bring players like Erasmus or Sinn into calculations as well. Despite the phantoms I reckon we'll see a lot of "surprises" tomorrow evening.
  5. Thanks for sharing dazzle. I love demonland for these little pieces of intel. Tipped to go to Sydney in a couple phantoms I've seen and looks to be around that 16 - 25 range. What are your thoughts on him as a footballer?
  6. Jason Taylor will be on AFL radio at 1.15 tomorrow for those that are interested. I'll be at work and will most likely miss it so a brief run down would be appreciated.
  7. Some interesting points. - Hobbs falling out of the top 10 - Soligo, although selected at 30, was mentioned as an option for Giants second pick 13 (15). Would be the biggest bolter this late in the piece unless something else surprises. - Goater possibly sliding out of the first round. - For dees, Brown, Wilmot and Chesser around the mark. So more outside mid/half back types with pace.
  8. Melbourne Picks: 17, 37, 49, 57 (likely to use three selections) A father-son is set to land at Melbourne for the first time since 2014 with Taj Woewodin nominated as a national pick, meaning if a bid doesn't come for the son of 2000 Brownlow medallist Shane then the Dees can automatically grab Woewodin with their last live selection. That appears the most likely outcome, with a bid not expected before Melbourne's third pick. Dandenong Stingrays forward/midfielder Judson Clarke could still be on the board at No.37 while the Dees have nominated Andy Moniz-Wakefield, an outside runner, through their Next Generation Academy and he could be a rookie shot. As could Anthony Caminiti, a 198cm forward who kicked five goals in his NAB League debut for the Northern Knights.
  9. Taylor on afl radio tomorrow.
  10. GWS will surely have more midfielders wanting out for more opportunity if they keep drafting them. Though Howes has a bit more point of difference up forward.
  11. It's an interesting choice on their behalf, clearly a massive talent but not sure the Suns can afford to wait 3-4 years before consistent afl performance. They don't exactly have a great track record of developing talent either.
  12. Bulldogs pick 23 likely to go to Cats.
  13. Melbourne allegedly interested in moving up to GWS 13 which is up for grabs. Other clubs will probably have better offers with future picks.
  14. Cal on draft countdown said its almost certain to lock in (excluding f/s bids); North - JHF GWS - Callaghan GC - Andrew
  15. Final Siren Podcast Phantom draft in the form of a podcast from the Rookie Me website formerly known as Draft Central. Melbourne picks were 19. Owens 38. Warner 45. Lohmann 51. Ballantyne 56. Woewodin (matched bid)
  16. Chesser and Howes seem to be the two most commonly linked to the dees with Butler, Wilmot and Sonsie also mentioned amongst various articles. Van Rooyen and Williams as possibilities as well if we look to add key position depth. Reads as guess work more so than intel and I'd put more stock into Cals phantom draft dropping on Monday as to the dees likely targets. If Sinn were to slide I think that would be the dream result.
  17. Do you prefer Van Rooyen forward or back?
  18. Very small highlights real that for some reason don't include any of his state rep games.
  19. There were rumblings of an Eagles player that was holding out on getting the vaccine. Hopefully no demons are in this position.
  20. Agreed, I do find it curious though that Johnson is never linked with either of freos picks despite being constantly predicted to go in that mid section of the first round.
  21. Him and Draper are probably the two biggest names not to be included in the first round. All just fun guesswork though on their part. There wasn't much noise about Pedlar, Stone, Angwin or Holmes as first rounders until quite late in the piece last year. I'm expecting a few more curveballs to come this year as well and look forward to who might get through to our pick. Could Johnson, Draper or Sinn get through, I wouldn't rule it out just yet. Similarly, we could pick someone from relative obscurity as well. As for Sonsie, I would be more than happy to add him to our midfield ranks.
  22. I've watched several games and read quite a lot of draft material, players profiles, stats etc... I wouldn't put a lot of stock into my opinion but from what I've been reading there is a consensus in the quality of first approximately 10-12 picks, after that there seems to be a belief that its quite even and you can throw a blanket over the next 20-30 prospects. The first 12-13 picks haven't deviated much from other phantom drafts that are out there. Some other names around the mark of the later stages of the first round are Draper, Sonsie, Butler, Knevitt, Taylor, Owens, Roberts. I feel this draft is even harder than last year to predict due to covid interrupting a second straight year. Some kids haven't been exposed much since u16s. Players like Sinn, Sonsie and Chesser were tipped to be top 10 candidates at one stage but haven't had the continuity to showcase their skills. It's one reason clubs would be wise to hold a SSP pick over for next year's mid season draft should players not drafted this year show massive development next season. There are more knowledgeable draft people on here than me, @ChaserJ might be one that can illuminate us further. As for Blake Howes, he's a 190cm forward/winger that's been described as being one of the most athletically gifted in the draft pool. Runs a quick 2km and is a great mark overhead. Would probably slot in nicely but I think we could take any number of players in different roles that would slot in well as a developing player. A nice write up on him here and a highlights vid. https://central.rookieme.com/afl/player/blake-howes/
  23. For those interested the Afl website with Cal Twomey, Kevin Sheehan and Nat Edwards have just put up a 1st round mock draft based on needs in their latest draft podcast. https://www.afl.com.au/news/687117/road-to-the-draft-podcast-2021-mock-draft For those that don't want to listen to the 40 odd minute podcast, these were the picks. 1. North - JHF 2. Collingwood - Daicos (matched bid) 3. Bulldogs - Darcy (matched bid) 4. GWS - Gibcus 5. GC - Callaghan 6. Adelaide - Rachelle 7. Hawthorn - Ward 8. Freemantle - Hobbs 9. Richmond - Erasmus 10. Freemantle - Amiss 11. St Kilda - Mac Andrew 12. West Coast - NWM 13. Essendon - Johnson 14. Port - Sinn 15. GWS - Goater 16. Brisbane - Wilmot 17. Richmond - Van Rooyen 18. GWS - Fahey (matched bid) 19. Sydney - Brown 20. Melbourne - Howes 21. Brisbane - Chesser
  24. Thanks. So we currently have picks 17, 37, 49, 57 and 94. I would predict that we will use 17, 37 at the draft with 57 being more than enough to match for Taj. That leaves one list spot for a SSP addition. We should be able to leverage something out of pick 49, which should come into the low 40's by the time all the pies and Bulldogs picks get absorbed in their f/s selections. That will be pretty valuable to a few clubs, including those that need more points for NGAs and f/s or maybe just want another selection all together. StKilda, GWS as well as Pies and Dogs are just a few clubs that might be interested in it. I'm not sure it will be enough to seriously upgrade pick 17 but we could perhaps get an upgrade to 37 or perhaps a future pick or two for next year.
  25. Yeah that sucks. I was just asking about the difference between the two because I didn't see the victory pack on the Melbourne online shop so only ordered the premiers DVD. I tried to research after I found out about the victory pack online but they pretty much had the same description with no mention of what extra content the victory pack had. Mr Steve kindly answered earlier about the additional finals games included. Hope your DVD arrives soon.
