  1. Moloney was one of our few shining lights last year in an otherwise forgettable year . People knock him for supposedly being a flat track bully but I don't see it that way . Our midfield last year was generally poor so when we come up against excellent midfields then Moloney is largely on his own . How about pointing the finger at some of our midfield who can't even get a kick against the poor sides ? That's the real ssue . If all the players decide they wan't to go hard at the ball all of the time then we'll become a finals team . The rev up that blokes like Moloney exhibit is all important in a footy club and shouldn't be underestimated . A lot of players need to be motivated before and during a game . Some are self starters but a lot aren't . Cheers
  2. Came across this number a little while ago . It's by Ty Pursglove called "Sunshine at Night" Don't know much about Ty other than he's from Germany . Nice relaxing bit of smooth jazz though . Liked that last one you posted JJ btw . Must have another look at 'The Marseille Contract' as well ! Macca 1.8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQsOLr0lRdE

I hadn't factored in a divisional arch rival winning the Superbowl . Pain equally shared in the end Dappa ! Although the dates haven't been set , here is next seasons opponents for each team ........................ http://www.nfl.com/n...for-2012-season Cheers
  5. My favourite is 'whilst' . I think it adds a certain sofistakayshun .
  6. Yeah and substituting "Filth" instead of "Collingwood" in the name of the thread doesn't work either ! How about "TWSNBN Demons" .

Wow ! What a finish ! Giants do it again . Eli 2 Peyton 1 . Great finish , tense as . That sidelines catch by Manningham will go down in folklore ( and a great throw by Manning ) Fantastic contest . Pats had their chances but the New York Giants were just too good . Eli elite ? The debate will go on but his 4th quarter performances are something special . Another great season !

Half time in the big game and it's anybody's match . NYG 9 NE 10 . That last drive by the Pats was impressive but the Giants were very good early . This will probably go down to the wire - can't split 'em . Ok , Giants just .
  9. THe WorkingS of the illumiNati By some at 'laNd .
  10. Here's another excellent jazz guitarist named Larry Coryell This track is called "Evil" Macca 1.7 http://grooveshark.c...il/1YyA3m?src=5
  11. Brand new hit for Van Halen called "Tattoo" Macca 5.4
  12. Quick glance reveals 6 people got the Grimes/Trengove Co-Captains correct . 'Good Times Grimes' , 'Ben Hur' , 'gg24' , 'tatu' , 'McQueen' and 'Red and Blue Flame' You will each receive 1 steak knife ! ps - apologies if I missed someone .
  13. Plenty of grunt in the 8 players selected . Which seems to be a trait that Mark Neeld likes a lot . Bit puzzled by the Moloney omission but that could be a strategic move by Neeld to put all the players on notice . Mark doesn't need to be a nice guy . Congratulations to both Jack Grimes and Jack Trengove . The right move by our Club and gives us a "Lets start from scratch" attitude . Naming Co-Captains has an added advantage of both Jacks always wanting to play well and lead by example . This could be a stroke of genius by Neeld . Happy to see Garland and Bartram in the leadership group and Clark is a good move as well . All in all , I like the new direction .

Yeah I agree , Neeld was fine . Confident , straight forward , down to earth and got a few laughs . It's an AGM not the launch of Apollo 11 ! Plus of course , Jimmy Stynes had stepped down so obviously the mood may not be buoyant . We'll find out soon enough whether Mark is a good coach or not . Performances in games is how Mark will be judged . So far he simply cannot be judged . Mark's biggest task will be motivating the players . I'm confident and hopeful that he will do so . Cheers

You make a good point Dappa , but I was more talking about disappointment levels . You're annoyed about your teams performance but in time you might totally forget about this season . But us Packer fans may have some real regrets about this year especially if we don't make up for it in the next few years . It's a bit like Patriot fans now . If they lose another Superbowl to the Giants they'll be devastated . Yeah , the Packers had a much better year than the Eagles but to go straight out and play as poorly as we did in 1 playoff game is a bitter pill to swallow . I spent all season waiting for the playoffs cos I "knew" we'd make them and then ...............bang , straight out . You've gotta win a final otherwise it's a totally wasted season . Cheers and are you watching the superbowl live ? I'm off work Monday on the couch !
  16. T$ - "What are you looking at ?" Other Bloke - "Not sure . It looks like a dead possom but part of it is missing . I wonder where the rest of it is ?" T$ - "Yeah , I wonder ?" "By the way , what do think of my new haircut ?"
  17. "Help me , I'm turning into a racoon" ! Is that cos I told lies ?
  18. Nice work Deez Nutz , Jaded , H_T and JJ . This is the Foo Fighters latest offering called "These Days" . Currently no.2 on the Billboard top 25 rock songs chart . It's their 4th single from their "Wasting Light" album that was released April 2011 . The other singles were "Rope" , "Walk" and "Arlandria" but I reckon "These Days" is the best of the 4 . Macca 5.3
  19. Thank you Jimmy , you serve as an inspiration to all of us . You're a wonderful man and have done so much for our Club . I hope so much that you can beat this illness . Enjoy your time with your family now and keep fighting . Macca
  20. Here's a nice little number from South African Jazz guitarist Jonathan Butler The song is called "Make Room For Me" Macca 1.6 http://grooveshark.c...Me/2MR067?src=5 Or here's a live version ...
  21. If there is a fair bit of movement due to free agency ( lets say 7 - 10 players move clubs at seasons end ) then this could inadvertantly open the door for younger out of contract players ( who aren't free agents ) to test their luck in the marketplace . A sort of "Jump on the bandwagon" or "flavour of the month" type mentality . Clubs could well be forced to do a deal otherwise lose that player in one of the drafts . We've seen this happen before occasionally but it could become more widespread . As an example player A ( A 22yo out of contract gun midfielder ) wants out of a club for whatever reason . He threatens to put a high price on his head in the National Draft or pre-season draft unless his club does a deal with the club of his choice . Said Club either gets nothing or does a deal . He may not be viewed as a mercenary or such like because of all the "Free agents" that are moving or have already moved . He gets "lost in the mix" so to speak . I may be totally wrong on this one if the AFL have "tied" (non free agent ) players to Clubs even if they're out of contract . It's my understanding that if you're out of contract you can find a way to move clubs regardless of whether you are a free agent or not . Cheers
  22. 11 - Anderson , Mithen , Stynes , Wells 12 - Mueller , Spencer , Viney , Sylvia 9 - Dixon , Alan Johnson , Neitz , Trengove , Fowler 16 - Bickford , Big Bob Johnson , Travis Johnstone , Laidlaw , Lovell , Townsend , Grimes 2 - Flower , McKenzie , Rowarth , Tingay , Nathan Jones Nicely done Bobby . I could have had no.16 higher on pure weight of numbers but I found it hard enough splitting 11 , 12 and 9 . 14 is a very good one now with Ivor in . Cheers , Macca
  23. Yes Wyl , in a some ways it just reintroduces the rules we had before the Draft started up . Except of course no clearance fees and the like . Teams that are regularly playing finals are going to be a huge attraction and teams that aren't playing finals are quite vulnerable . All the more reason that we need to start winning more than we lose . Also , there's always a way to fit a free agent into your salary cap . Bottom clubs are often paying "overs" to mediocre or average players where as successful clubs rarely have to do this . I've heard also that some Geelong players could earn a decent amount more elsewhere but why would they want to leave ? ( unless of course it's an offer too good to refuse ) ( Ablett ) Some players will move for success even if the money isn't much better . As an example Luke Ball could have got the same amount of money at another club other than at Collingwood . He got what he wanted . If we play finals this year we might be in a position of strength to bring 1 or 2 free agents in and on the flip side we may be vulnerable in a few years time if we are near the bottom of the ladder . Cheers
  24. Speaking of James Hird . He went at pick 79 in the 1990 National Draft . We had picks 75 and 77 which we used on Robert Panozza and Niall Buckley . Maybe James was regarded as too "Skinny" ! Can you imagine if we had of had a thread going back then ? The mind boggles ! http://en.wikipedia..../1990_AFL_Draft
  25. Skinny bloke to be compared to Cale - "Twiggy" Dunne ! And our own Robbie Flower was no "Heavyweight" . Gee , could he play ! And he would be even better in todays footy in my opinion . Cale just needs to develop a manic desire for the footy . He doesn't need to look like an "Adonis"
