WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
Macca replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Amongst my Demon acquaintances we've dubbed Bowey & Laurie as Bobby & Laurie Picked as a pair in the draft it kinda/sorta makes sense ds Rosman just rolls off the tongue ... could be a cult figure with that old head on young shoulders -
New addition for the post-season tipping comp (assuming we get enough starters) Working on the premise that we continue to post scorelines (as we've traditionally done) we could make the most of those scorelines Week 1 ... 1 point per win plus a bonus point if your margin of victory falls within the actual margin. i.e. 1-6, 7-12, or over 12 Week 2 ... 1 point per win plus a bonus point using the same margin criteria as week 1 Week 3 ... 3 points per win plus 3 bonus points for the correct margin criteria Super Bowl ... 5 points for the win plus 5 bonus points for the correct margin (1-6, 7-12 etc) We can just continue to post up the scorelines as we've done previously and I can work out the rest of it (with the possible aid of a proof-reader!) All feedback is most welcome but a tipping system where interest is maintained throughout is the ideal outcome n.b ... the margin of victory would need to fall into the 1-6, 7-12 or over 12 margin to qualify for the bonus point (or points)

@layzie @Gorgoroth @DemonDave @JV7 @titan_uranus @DeeSpencer @Clintosaurus @Dee Zephyr @Go the Biff Leaderboard - Tipping Comp 13 - Clintosaurus 11 - titan_uranus 9 - Go the Biff, Gorgoroth, Macca 8 - JV7 6 - DemonDave, DeeSpencer, Dee Zephyr, layzie 1 - Others Just the 1 point on offer this week - good luck!

And with the playoff format having changed this season we will see 6 playoff games in week 1 of the playoffs Only the 1 seed in each conference gets the bye ... currently the Steelers (11 & 1) over the Chiefs (11 & 1) in the AFC and the Saints (10 & 2) in the NFC. The Saints are one win ahead of the Packers but the Packers hold the tie-break advantage if the Saints slip up So in week 1 of the playoffs there may well be 3 games on the Sunday (AEDT) with another 3 games on the Monday (AEDT) ... it could be assumed that 7Mate will cover all the playoff games but is that confirmed?

10 road winners out of the 14 games played this week. I'm wondering whether the NFL as a sport has the biggest home field advantage? (When capacity crowds are a staple) Here's the updated leaderboard in the tipping comp 13 - Clintosaurus 11 - titan_uranus 9 - Go the Biff, Gorgoroth, Macca 8 - JV7 6 - DemonDave, DeeSpencer, Dee Zephyr, layzie 1 - Others A total of 8 points are still available in the last 4 weeks Week 14 - 1 point Week 15 - 2 points Week 16 - 2 points Week 17 - 3 points
-
The race for the title is on (see the next 3 weeks upcoming fixtures listed below the current table)

Leaderboard (Live Ladder) - Tipping Comp 11 - Clintosaurus*, titan_uranus 9 - Go the Biff, Macca 8 - JV7 7 - Gorgoroth* 6 - DemonDave, DeeSpencer, Dee Zephyr, layzie 1 - Others *Clintosaurus & Gorgoroth awaiting a positive Bills result @ 49ers = 2 points each if successful Go the Bills?

My betting strategy nearly always includes the races from S.A and in particular, James Jordan's tips. And when he and Gator both tip well I do well The challenge is matching up 2 of the tips in a small multi as the tips can often be the short priced favourites. Worked out well today as Gator had a reasonable day as well (although I went looking for value (against a few) to my detriment!) Would have cleaned right up if Inspirational Girl had have got up. Truly Great a deserved winner though. Too good Good luck with the NFL ... I'll be doing a 4 or 5 pick H/F multi. All home teams as I don't trust my judgement on road teams! ? Sha Tin tomorrow though playing with house money

When in doubt defer to the experts (so they say) James Jordan (JJ) has snagged 6 winners from 8 races at Morphettville today Edit: Make that 7 from 9

Thanks for that Gorg I quite like 'Watch Me Dance' (No.16) in the Kingston Town Classic (Ascot Race 8) 3 of the big bookies have picked it outright noting that it's carrying only 50kgs and has drawn well At 11-1 it represents good value Inspirational Girl is the one to beat but it has drawn gate 18 ... I've got it going in a couple of multi's as the saver bet (including your pick 'Isotope')

Some good racing coming up on the weekend with the Kingston Town Classic being the standout race. Small field in the Pakenham Cup but it's a very good betting race. Click on any of the listed races below for the fields, form & odds Ascot - Kingston Town Classic Ascot - A.J. Scahill Stakes Pakenham - Cup Pakenham - VOBIS Gold Bullion Doomben - George Moore Stakes

@layzie @Gorgoroth @DemonDave @Dr. Gonzo @JV7 @Dappa Dan @titan_uranus @DeeSpencer @Clintosaurus @Dee Zephyr @Go the Biff Leaderboard - Tipping Comp 11 - Clintosaurus, 9 - titan_uranus 7 - Go the Biff, Gorgoroth, Macca 6 - JV7, DemonDave, DeeSpencer 4 - Dee Zephyr, layzie 1 - Dr. Gonzo 2 big points on offer this week - all to play for with the regular season rapidly coming to an end n.b. The still to be played week 12 match (Ravens @ Steelers) cannot be included in this weeks tips Tough week though and the 2 points will be hard earned! Can the Raiders be trusted?!

Jericho Cup & Japan Cup both run today
-
Glory Vase loomed large with a furlong to go but got run over (after kicking again) Well deserved win to Almond Eye though (what a mighty mare) Will be retired now after a stellar career Contrail ran on well to help secure the 'obvious' quinella for punters (which I didn't have of course!)
-
Yeah, Count Zero won at big odds ... its form back in the Autumn was very sound but it has been running over 2000m (or shorter) in the lead up to this race They obviously knew what they were doing and on a 7 day back-up as well Da Deputy was beaten a long way from home but that's racing Japan Cup on in 30 minutes and it looks a race between Almond Eye & Contrail but I'm on Glory Vase (each-way)
-
And here's the replay of the Winterbottom Stakes followed by last weekend's Railway Stakes
-
I'll go with that Gorg ... excellent each-way value. A little disappointed with the support card for such a terrific event (The Jericho) but hopefully over time that will be addressed Anyway, a full field of 14 (with the 4 emergencies scratched) augers well for the concept
-
Did the same and 'Elite Street' has definitely got a future too. Scooted around them with a real turn of foot Another W.A. horse that could end up over in the Eastern States. Lightly raced but has real speed against the clock. It wasn't a great field but it still beat a very good horse in Trekking home Dare I say it ... an ADATR Blackbooker Winners are grinners!! haha
-
Fantastic! Bonus bucks in the off season! Hope you got a nice collect (as I did) It drifted right out in the betting but I'm not complaining. Thought 20-1 was overs
-

Ha ha! I live for Saturday racing ... can't get enough of it. Used to be the footy but we don't play all that much on a Saturday arvo these days And I no longer play cricket so it's all about the horses on a Saturday now
