  1. Up until 400 hours ago, he was the only player on Jolimont Terrace that could hit a target.
  2. Deez into $29 tonight.
  3. His market value has completely collapsed in 24 months unfortunately. August 2018 probably worth a first round pick. August 2020 . . . ???
  4. I'm surprised anyone takes notice of him. Pretty limited insight into the modern game IMHO.
  5. Brayshaw - works effectively attacking Salem - possessions more favourable Langdon - keeps getting better Petracca - much improvement left Oliver - same as traktor May - heart in mouth Fritsch - 'looks' very good Viney - same as usual Hibberd - never sure what Preuss - market value doubled Melksham - better than Hannon??? Lockhart - continues to impress vandenBerg - very courageous player Jones - 8 to go Weideman - structurally important now Harmes - just not sure Spargo - continues to surprise Tomlinson - goodness gracious me Sparrow - 27 . . . good get McDonald - market value halving Lever - some big questions Pickett - please don't drop
  6. FWIW . . . I trawl the different opposite forums, mostly looking for patterns and themes. Oliver was not mentioned in any of the fora this week that I can recall. Most fora degenerate into 'group think' and latch on to a weekly theme. Only natural and fully human to do that I think. A significant percentage of supporters at most clubs dislike their coach, footy department, head recruiter, president/chair and the AFL. I would say most opposition supporters that voice an opinion about the Deez, voice a negative one. There is almost universal respect for Max. I think I can only remember one derogatory comment this year.
  7. Max and Pruess Grundy is gonna get thrown to the wolves if he has to face Gawn after another 4 day break. He's been playing sore for 5-6 weeks now. I’m tipping Gawn will not be 100% fit according Media reports. Gawn is even more banged up than Grundy. It's clear that Grundy is fatigued, and that Gawn is not 100%. Gawn won’t get up it looks like. That’ll hurt Melbourne a lot. Bare in mind, Preuss only hasn’t played games because he’s been behind Goldstein and Gawn! He’s no pushover! Pruess will be out to hurt Grundy. So if Gawn doesn’t play, it certainly levels the game up very quickly. Gawn hasn't been named. Scared of getting the usual bath from Grundy, I suppose. Pruess be a Poor Man Mumford by trying to Rough up Grundy. Pruess isn’t a real ruck, I actually rate him, but he’s a Mumford crash and bash type who’ll try to hurt his opponent. Grundy the only ruck option we have to match Pruess’s physicality. Everything else Melbourne will definitely believe their own hype going into this game. We must jump them early. There's plenty of talk that they're one of the fittest teams in the competition. If that's true they could definitely cause us problems late in the game. Melbourne aren't a fast side - especially their on-ballers. Thomas and Mihocek have always caused Melbourne big headaches. Could Dunn play forward? Melbourne is a genuine opponent. We need our best players on the park against them. It's Melbourne. Smash into the contest, choke their ball movement and they'll capitulate. The way to beat Melbourne is to pressure the ball carrier. Their kicking is usually quite suspect. Hopefully Maynard blankets Petrecca. Norf showed the blueprint to beat us last year. Play the man hard and we go to pieces. Melbourne don't have a great record at the Gabba. Their last 6 games there have been loses. In contrast, we have won most of our recent games there. Who plays on Petracca? Greenwood would be handy right now to play a lockdown role on him. I just hope we belt this pathetic mob on Saturday evening. Hope we lose to show what a disaster our match committee is. Let’s omit our second highest goal scorer and keep two forwards who don’t score in the team. The only thing Ben Reid brings to ground is himself in a marking contest. Worst forward in the competition.
  8. What the world haven't got its head around yet . . . slow training coming . . . The virus has exposed a deeply flawed economic and social model that prioritises excessive opportunism and profiteering at the expense of the peoples' welfare and wellbeing. The fetishisation of money over people is the allegory of the emperor's new clothes for the 21st century. We are all naked now.
  9. What does this tell us? 2019 Toby Nankervis 2018 Scott Lycett 2017 Toby Nankervis 2016 Jordan Roughead 2015 Ben McEvoy 2014 David Hale 2013 Max Bailey 2012 Shane Mumford 2011 Brad Ottens 2010 Darren Jolly
  10. he's a bitter and twisted ol' &$#@. How the hell did he only win 2 premierships in 10 years at West Coke with a state side at his disposal?
  11. Max Gawn gone, hopefully we will peg them back a notch or 2. With Gawn and Viney out they're virtually leaderless now. No Gawn, no Viney...NO EXCUSES. The best thing that can be said about Gawn missing is that it greatly enhances Goldy’s All-Australian chances. If Gawn had towelled him up again like in R23, it may have been a deciding factor for the judges. Jed to Oliver, was in decent form last game, but he will miss Gawn for sure. I actually would have liked to see Gawn play, want to see where Goldy is at and Gawn is the only one to have gotten a hold of him properly. Gawn had to play v Crows; a) for the win, and b) save sack Goodwin's his job Everything else Doesn't matter who we bring in, we ain't winning. Both teams have been ****ful this year, but Melbourne's talent will be enough to get the 4 points. Jed to Oliver. Lmac to Petracca. Shut those two out and we win the game. Death Ride continues. We must win this. Loose this and they have Collingwood and the Bulldogs afterwards, should all but write off their season. It pains me to think that Melbourne must be favourites. The sooner Melbourne know their season is over the better for us as they will collapse. Need to put a fair bit of time into Petracca, he can’t run freely. Melbourne have no potent tall forwards. Keeping the Demons defenders accountable (May, Lever and Hibbered) will hold the key to us having a chance. Taz McKay and Durdin down back. That’s a a big backline. Do Demons have a penchant for bombing it long? TMcDonald named as their ruckman is interesting. Bennell being managed again helps us too. Just the type who would snag 3 against us. What does it say about Preuss when they chose to go with McDonald as your main ruck rather then him? Mcdonald was ok a few years back, they had Hogan before that, but otherwise they are a bit thin yes. Now watch Fritsch kick 5. Fritsch, Weideman and Jackson should not be taken lightly. Assuming we win, where do Deez fans go with the a Snowfields closed? Holiday homes on the Mornington Peninsula?
  12. I'm not an expert in the law (although worked in the industry for years), but i would have thought there are grounds to challenge the AFL in the courts over this.
  13. hahahahaha . . . for a minute i thought you were serious Tracca.
  14. Post game Ricciuto . . . if you love the club like you say you do. Then go. Just go. Special place in hell reserved for: ANB (he who shall not be named). When Clayton Oliver is the difference, you know things are bad. Walker is done, give him 200 and bye bye. Luke Jackson is going to be elite. Very exciting talent. We've stuffed up a couple of drafts and now we've also got the wrong coach.
  15. Gawn - love him much Viney - surprisingly good tonight Oliver - might be maturing Lockhart - plodding along just May - boy oh boy Lever - not what was Petracca - great kick Christian Salem - completely wasted talent Jones - just doing enough Melksham - doesn't do enough Fritsch - a luxury footballer Brayshaw - woo wee mcgee Langdon - good ordinary battler Weideman - developing very slowly Jackson - 250 gamer here Harmes - same, same, same Sparrow - too early ATM Hibberd - bloody hell michael Tomlinson - who, where, what? Neal-Bullen - see ya later vandenBurg - up and down Bennell - great goal harley
  16. I’m putting $1000 on Luke Jackson getting the NAB rising star this week. Nicks has flagged we'll be younger this week. Let's see if selection backs him up. Persisting with Gibbs is a complete waste. Trade him back to Carlton for peanuts. We are in diabolical trouble. Game plan from St.Bernadettes year 3 marks up playbook. I think a winless season and Nicks is shown the door IMO. We need a full clean out of coaches and Fagan needs to throw HUGE coin at a proper coaching setup. It’s just hit me. The realisation that the best player at our club is a 35yo mother of two? Invite Blight back to the club as a mentor for Nicks. If anyone in the media, social media or anywhere else asks again why Gibbs can't get a game, please refer them to this week's performance. Has Lever played in Adelaide against the Crows yet? Last weeks embarrassment has finally made the club really go into rebuild mode. Prediction : Tex to "run through" Jake Lever at some point. Crows making EIGHT(!) changes. Two debutants. Gerard and Robbo both very complimentary of the selections with saying that it’s clear the Crows are finally accepting of the rebuild and that Gibbs, Atkins and Knight would all be very worried about their futures. If they actually won would there be enough players available to provide the gatorade shower? Dees are ripe for the picking too. Excellent, at least 3 of those players dropped should never ever play a game for the club again.
  17. I loved Pedo. Magnificent.
  18. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
  19. Feeling righteous indignation.
  20. Is there are dumber bunch of footballers running around anywhere ATM?
  21. He's going okay in the scratch matches apparently. According to the supporter forums, a lot of Port supporters wanted him in the team tonight.
  22. Top analysis Binman. Another clue for you all . . . I spent around an hour trawling the Port forums last night and I would estimate that eight out of 10 supporters expect the Deez to win comfortably. They are rabid with Ken and his selection choices. And the 'Hoff is the main target of their anger. Every club has their whipping boy, and Justin is theirs.
  23. Max Hang on - if Lycett is still unavailable - who would be better in the ruck against Gawn - Ladhams, Hoff, Hayes? Max Gawn will beat us singlehandedly. Even Buzza would've been a better option than current form Westhoff. At least you know he would've gone at Gawn with some aggression. Gawn the big b*tch will be rubbing his moist [censored] knowing he could ruck just with his ******* head and still win the hit outs 100 to 0. Ladhams will be slaughtered by Gawn. I’ve got the VC on Gawn in SuperCoach. Melbourne by 60. Gawn will skullfu** us. Gawn would still be embarrassed by the way Lycett pulled his pants down last season and I expect he will go 100 mph from the first bounce down, so let's hope Ladhams and who ever his back up will be are up for it. Gawn please use no lube on Ladhams. I'm expecting 100+ hitouts. Gawn will rape us. Melbourne by 7 goals. We'll win 3 more games for the year and come 10th. Gawn will pillage Ladhams. We might as well have the centre bounce in their forward line. Gawn will do what Ryder did except he will play the whole game and their mids will destroy us. Good luck being a defender this week. Ken Season over. Ken's learned nothing. Sack Hinkley. Old Kenny is the Human embodiment of putting a square peg in a round whole. So let's recap: Too short in defence, Too slow in the middle, Playing injured/tired players, Picking experienced players that are way out of form, Only 1 genuine tall forward, Undermanned in the ruck. In summary, what can we take away from this? [censored] if I know. Sounds like our Ken. Yeah, our season is done. We'll lose the next 4 because Hinkley has learned nothing, and we'll then battle all season only to end up 9th. Sack Hinkley. Tipping Melbourne. Pretty safe tip now. Sack Hinkley. Classic Hinkley mentality - why bother trying to exploit an opposition's weakness when you can be equally as sh*t as them in that area? He really is a do nothing coach. I would love to know if Ken overrules the other coaches to our detriment. Mr 4 rounds of annual coaching ability is done for the year. Nothing like doing the same thing over & over and expecting a different result. Classic Ken. Everything else Surely Watts gets a shot soon, he’s exactly what we need with McKenzie and Marshall both out. Our defence is gonna get absolutely destroyed. Melbourne have a lot of slow clearance machines as well, so I think Rockliff and Wines will go ok. Port and the Dees should play for the Jack Watts memorial cup this week because I'm pretty sure he's dead. I think Rockliff in is ok vs Melbourne due to them essentially being a slow, big bodied midfield. Winning these next 4 games should put us in good stead for what is yet to come. If I wasn't loyal to the club Id be betting my house on Melbourne. I am keen to see what Watts can bring. Cannot be worse than the Hoff. If Jack Watts’ foot is still attached you’d assume he comes in. Not sure how it will go with wines and rock vs the explosive Oliver and Petracca. Christian Petracca is in incredible form and will eat Tom Rockliff (and Wines and Boak for that matter) for breakfast. This is the key ... But Melbourne are up there with Port in being their own worst enemy. I think the boys are stung from last week's loss, and will win this. How many lives has Justin Westoff got? Westhoff kicked 5 against the Dees last year. So there. Hahaha, Westhoff rewarded for poor form. What a sh#tshow. Gonna need a few drinks 4 this game.... and still wont make it enjoyable. I'd drop Ollie but they won't so if playing against his old mate Viney doesn't drag something out of him he should go water skiing forever and forget football.
  24. They had a bloody good forward line. Irwin, McMahon, Quinlan (although he was probably ruck-roving in those days), Conlan and BBB.
