  1. Unfortunately that's a really poor stat and big room for improvement. It's been that way for a long time with opposition sides winning clearances despite Max's dominance in the hit outs
  2. Yep never going to be even unless we go 17 or 34 H & A. As a 70s child I really only remember the 22 round H&A season of the 12 team competition before we expanded
  3. All teams are predictable and everyone knows how everyone plays. These coaching groups are all fairly smart and will have an understanding of how to beat sides. Sides back their structures to beat the opposition. This is a tough competition and if you’re slightly off it impacts your structures. But kick straight in those performances against those lower sides and we win. However wins sometimes paper over cracks, which (despite what posters think) footy departments will identify and work to evolve. When sides expose a weakness it allows you to make some tweaks. The Dogs will have a plan to counter us sitting on Libba this week
  4. I don’t like conferences, teams in the NFL have won conferences with losing records and had home field advantage in the first round of play offs
  5. Yes would make sense along with equalising the draw, which they tried to do a few seasons ago but was compromised by blockbusters, derbies, showdowns etc Rd 1 -17 Each team plays the other 17 sides once Rd 18 -23 (5 games only taking the bye into consideration) goes as per below Teams who finished 1st to 6th the previous season play each other a second time Teams who finished 7th to 12th the previous season play each other a second time Teams who finished 13th to 18th the previous season play each other a second time. Its not rocket science and takes away teams having perceived easier draws because they have to play a side twice each season because they play in the same state or are traditional rivals. It’s not perfect but unless we play each other only once or twice it’s as fair as we can get. IMO works better than other ideas of wild cards, teams playing for draft picks etc
  6. Just finished watching again. The last two goals in the 3rd were from poor handballs from Hibberd. Missed targets twice and also over an the ball several times during the game, he was extremely poor, which something he hasn’t been all year
  7. If people stop responding to him/her , they would go away. All trolls crave attention which is missing in their normal life. It’s in the hands of the other posters to just not take the bait

  9. You have got to be kidding go back and watch. One of the few who doesn’t panic with ball in hand and actually makes good decisions with his disposal
  10. No chance resting players last round IMO, especially with the pre finals bye. Don’t see any team resting players if you flirt with form at that point of the year you’re taking a big risk. Another consideration is if you were to do that and you won your first qualifying final, come Preliminary final time those players would only have played 1 game in 5 weeks
  11. Yes it's been politics 101 by Mcgowan, who I'm not a supporter of and easy enough for him to do. But lets not forget we as a state contribute a very large piece of the nations exports, far above the % of population we have. My point is I know which outcome I have preferred when given the choices. I have a large family in Europe and have seen the impact it has had on them economically and their mental health, so from my perspective if borders need to be shut so be it
  12. And your point is, Are you saying those of us who have set up home in WA just take money in the form of GST from those in the eastern states without contributing. Being isolated has helped that’s true but our tough border policy has been a godsend during this pandemic.
  13. Yeah, we don’t have any resources in WA, that could possibly generate any foreign export. ?
  14. Has it effected your life much. As a result of WA’s tough border policy we have lead a pretty normal life since last June. Businesses not as badly interrupted as our eastern states counterparts. We have been able to attend community footy, kids have gone to school uninterrupted for the best part and played near enough to a full season of sport last year. I think I know which policy I’d prefer to live with
  15. 8 to 10 years ago we’d have had a thread on him up and running in May
  16. Absolutely pizzling down in Perth now, Eagles are pretty skilful side which is an asset in the wet, but they are one of the the worst sides for groundball gets I’ve ever seen. Cunnington could be very important tonight along with Goldy
  17. I think they must’ve given him decent bench time in the 4th, only 1 more possession added to his tally
  18. The highly rated Joshua Brown already up to 30 disposals early in the 4th quarter for East Freo colts, Taj Woewodin not far behind 26 disposals, 3 tackles, 8 marks and 1 goal

  20. Very good performance all round. Dont worry about stats both Brown and Viney were vital. Pressure was back where it needs to be across the board and the 1%ers were back. Loved our defensive pressure from the inside 50 tackles to the set up as soon as we turned it over
  21. And Brissy at Giants stadium
  22. No one really, maybe not in those words but review all the posts across team selection for last few weeks and the changes thread vs Port We need a tall target to bring the ball to ground for our crumbed We need to bring in a proven 60 goal a year forward who will provide us an contest and aerial target He does neither of those things and never has, he’s a great lead up forward with the ball out in front of him . He runs in straight lines direct to the ball and does it well. If he doesn’t get the ball delivered to him that’s not always an issue because his patterns still provides a lane for another forward to run to. But that is his strength and he generally kicks accurately. Outside of that he lacks strength and is very easy to knock off the ball in a 1 v 1 contests. I don’t mind him coming in for something different but he’s not going to increase the amount of ground balls we win if he doesn’t mark it, the ball is coming straight back out. Yes he will improve our conversion, but he also brings flaws, like most players
  23. Pretty much nailed it in regard to the the issues on the weekend and somewhat our last 3 games. Well beaten by the Pies and Giants out of the middle. what I find astounding is the myth people have about Ben Brown being some pack crashing contested marking beast. I do think he’s still worth a look if they’ve built his tank enough to make multiple repeat leads into the channels which Tmac created by leading hard up the ground
  24. I don't mind bringing Ben Brown in, but FCS can posters drop the myth that he is a contested forward who brings the ball to ground. He lacks strength in the contest and is easily moved off the ball. What he does give you is a lead up target who is very hard to counter with his long reach when the ball is coming in at eye height. Could see moments yesterday when Tmac lead very hard up the ground and opened several leading channels inside forward 50. Recall watching and thinking to myself I think Ben Brown thrive in that set up. But teams will also counter it by failing to follow Tmac up the ground
