  1. Remember the 98 game both had to win to make the 8, we were in good form and we’re just to good. We ended the round 4th on the ladder and steamrolled the eventual premiers Adelaide in the first final the following week
  2. I think we have a new troll
  3. 6.Viney 5.Brayshaw 4. Pickett 3. Gawn 2. Rivers 1.Chandler
  4. Claremont vs West Perth Colts yesterday Curtin - just an okay game, played mid rotating forward. Not as many possessions as usual but still showed plenty with his ball use and clearance work. Did get caught HTB on a few occasions trying to fend off. One of his strengths is absorbing heat and standing up in tackles to feed the outside runners. Did it on a few occasions yesterday Bailey Banfield - FS eligible to West Coast, BOG strong in the contest and drove away from the contests with explosive strength and went direct to beat West Perth pushing numbers to the contest Dehaviland - like Banfield really strong in the contest and worked really hard all day. Used the ball well at times but should have had more scoreboard impact SVR - A nearly game, flew at a few and just didn’t reel them in, kicked 1 but was involved in a few more with score assists. Jumped at times when he impacted his teammates when the better option is to stay down and block Odin Jones - ruck, really good with his tap work and kicked a couple when resting forward, but also impacted Curtin’s marking ability in transition by planting himself near enough to impact as 3rd man up Peter Young - 2025 draft really impressive with his leading patterns, workrate and attack on the contest. Played CHF and at only 15 going to be one to watch
  5. He looked a bit tired second half, think the big pre season the championships and the quick turnaround straight into club footy (game week) the day after caught up with him. All the state boys looked a little sore last weekend. Be interesting to see how they go this weekend. I’ll be watching Claremont vs West Perth so will see a few of this, next year’s and a couple of 2025 crop playing
  6. If I’m Sydney I’m keeping the draft pick and taking Ratagolia as a free agent.
  7. Yep, they want him, but also Reid, not sure how they can get both
  8. I would love to get him, he’s the best defender in the country, but is being played in other positions due to recruiters requests on seeing him utilised elsewhere. His size is a huge factor from midfield upside perspective and his reading of the ball in flight make him a potential midfield/forward match up nightmare moving forward. Hes a level headed kid, who has poise in traffic and is developing his contested game in the middle. Further to this he leaves no stone unturned in his preparation. Closest I can compare him to with his skill set, size and flexibility is Matthew Pavlich. West Coast are very keen on him though
  9. I understand their midfield gets beaten up around the clearances but I think Sydney need to draft a key tall defender or try and convert someone in similar fashion to what they did with Ted Richards. Talk about Tom Barrass, but he won’t come cheap
  10. SVR isn’t a great kick , it needs work and if someone rookies him his leading patterns need work. Has athletic ability but will take time, spills marks because he flies for plenty when his greatest strength is on a lead
  11. Yep, my best mates dad was drafted and to this day there’s still moments he doesn’t wish to discuss which is fully understood
  12. The laugh emoji is at your AFL draft comment, certainly not towards getting drafted to the Vietnam war
  13. Congratulations Ron to you and your wife, also welcome to the world and the Demon family Remi
  14. Yes I get the kids thing, remember those days. Enjoy it before you know it they’re older teenagers who you hardly ever see
  15. Not if he’s born in a leap year, which clearly he wasn’t if he’s 16 this odd year
  16. 8 (hopefully 10/11 if needed) games to go, so he must go to all remaining games
  17. I went Max because he was great for 4 quarters. Trac was missing for 10 minutes in the second when they were charging. Although he did come straight back into it and kicked one to show how dangerous he was. I think you can go either way for me it’s more consistent effort vs outright brilliance
  18. Is that like “Pizz Melksham off for good” in the game day thread😂😂😂 Smiths strength is his athleticism 1v1 matchup, and either intercept or provide contest and use your asset at ground level to rebound. Your analysis is the gift that keeps on giving
  19. Second half of the third we started to turn things a little in similar fashion to them in the first quarter
  20. Smith was good when he came on, however I think Tomo might be better against the Crows tall forwards allowing Lever to zone off Spargs got himself in some good spots and created some channels as usual but will be in the gun as his execution was poor for the most part, Chandler will come into consideration Brown stays because when he played the high forward role it opened them up and gave us the separation early.
  21. Kossie’s goal was great- 3 things in it Melksham contested mark, Kossie wins a 1v2 preventing rebound overlap and Tracs backing of Kossie pointing him to back himself and kick it
  22. Was 08 the game when Wona came alive in the last, with Jimmy hugging Wona’s dad
  23. Some good discussion on First Crack
  24. He’s just a born leader and warrior, never gives up. That goal was purely wanting it more than his opponents
  25. I love my Dees and I’m not totally biased to our flaws, but even if we lost tonight I loved that we stuck at it and kept within striking distance. JVR and Brown weren’t great but they continued to compete. May had some horrific moments but was important late. Most people learn from their mistakes but the usual suspects will again next week be posting garbage on the game day thread vs Adelaide
