  1. I agree with you and BB on this I think it's what we are not saying as a club that speaks the loudest. Very much an appearance of smoke & mirrors. Surely given it's some 6/7 weeks now we have been looking for a new coach, formal interviews and presentations would have been conducted by now. So there has possibly already been a handshake agreement with a coach involved in the finals. Including senior assistants there are a lot of them still involved. I am also still not sold on the Ross Lyon St Kilda scenario, all talk but no commitment yet. Very much I want to stay I have told you(the board), the players and supporters. If you fail to provide a decent contract and I am forced to walk the blame falls back firmly on the board
  2. What happened to Bank of Melbourne?
  3. In hindsight everything was cruising along well before 2011, the kick in teh guts year we had may have shown us things don't just happen you have to make it, I think it was Yabby Jeans who said I don't respect your talent I respect what you do with it.
  4. Different scenario that was a deal done in trade week, this was rules brough in for the new Franchise. Judd didn't walk as Richmond signalled their intentions to pick him up in pre season draft with the pick before Carlton. Had Scully decided to walk without signing a new contract GWS would have picked him up with 1st pick in Pre season draft and we would have got SFA
  5. I do not believe we are a weak club, I do however believe we are currently in transition from previously being one of the weak clubs. As I have said in many threads a lot of progress has been made since 2007, these things take time. The debt demolition galvanised the supporter group. The shake up from the Geelong game/Bailey sacking should see changes to benefit the footy department and the lack of distraction from the Scully situation should see a playing group with no resentment to an overpaid 3rd year player and there is a lot of boys who will have had their pride hurt by 2011 The Bailey appointment was what the club could afford at the time, things are vastly different this time, even if we don't get MM or RL this time I feel we have the finances to surround an untried senior coach with experienced assistants/directors of coaching
  6. My mail is Luke Power will be player coach!
  7. F%$k#n Gold!
  8. This was very difficult to keep it to ten necause we need more players than that to improve, a bit of luck on the injury side and the old cliches of another pre season and more games into the kids I believe will see us get better. I just put in who I believe needs to play well for us to be a side that is competative every week and does not ever get trounced regularly like we did this season 1)Defence Frawley - interupted preseason this year but still showed class. He is a gun and will stop sides scoring big margins against us Garland - as above but shows promise and we need our two talls to stay healthy Grimes - just needs to play regular footy, we have seen what he can do but needs to get out there Blease - definatley need his line breaking runs from half back 2)Ruck Jamar - if he can stay fit and return to AA form of 2010 massive difference straight away Martin- keep improving take some load of Jamar and both can rotate through the forward line like Natanui/Cox Gawn - Just get a few more games into him for experience 3)Midfield Maloney - started well in 2011 but needs to continue over the season Jones - continue as he did this year better disposal would be a plus but can't fault his heart Trengove - sky is the limit for this kid shows class on and off the field with his marking ability you cold see him and Sylvia rotate roles through games from midfield to half forward flank Bail - I really liked what I saw from him before he went down and his game back against port was good Gysberts - Needs to add some size knows how to find the ball and how to use itbut lacks strength at this stage Bartram - Yes I can hear the groans already but liked what I saw at the end of season when he kept Kerr, Cotchin & Ablett quiet three weeks in a row. Not good with disposal so use his strength and if we get Ross LYON or Malthouse that is what they bring to a team players who aren't gifted just fit in with the structure 4)Forwards Green - Had a bad year but if he can return to 2010 where he was an AA 40 man squad player big load off the other players Sylvia - Needs to be consistant capable of a 50+ season Watts - Has all the tools and took a big step last season so just keep continuing Howe - Can be another Robbo but unlike Robbo needs to lock the ball in when it goes to ground Cook/Fitzpatrick need one of our big forwards to step up or find an older one through draft for 1/2 years Jurrah - A big forward coming in will take pressure off him and he like Sylvia should be a 50+ forward Davey - just needs to improve and shake the tag or get back to what he was before harassing in the forward line if he can't it's th end for him Morton - the new coach needs to find a role for him, has talent but Jetta - I like this kid and having seen him play with Swan District Colts I know he has a hardness about him I expect him to step up Tapscott - Was very good early on and the club needs to decide forward of back Add to this players we pick up in the draft and some others will step up (like Martin this season) I would love a Boak in our midfield
  9. Maybe he's just telling them, end of season boys go and have a break but FFS stay away from school girls & leave your cameras at home
  10. Word in the Hun (not sure how reliable) was that Jimmy was fuming when advised of the news about Scully going to GWS. One thing that would get to Jimmy more than anything was the thought of being lied to. He is honesty and integrity personiified
  11. f%$K#N put a smile on my face I have to say
  12. Barring Lovett which was well I have no words for that one, the others all came cheap Dawson and Gardiner were vital players in 2009 when the Saints went so close against a very very good side, Peake's form this year has been very good and was one of the reasons they went on such a good run mid season, Bartram could be similar. Polo and Gamble haven't seen enough of them. I think the Saints list was better under Thomas and lacked depth under Lyon. I may be biaised but I think when the bodies get bigger we are ahead of the list he had at the Saints minus a Goddard who I don't think we have anywhere on our list. I think Lyon would make our defence formidable
  13. I know the Great Man left us in 1965 after wearing the jumper with distinction as did his late father. However RDB'S departure was done with honour and not smoke and mirrors. I have had the pleasure of meeting with the great man and speaking with him about the club. to hear him speak of his love for the club is inspiring. I would ask Barass to speak with the player group early in the pre season about the importance of the club and the red & blue jumper, what it means to us as supporters and past players. Let him look the player group in the eye and ask them who wants to wear it with honour and represent this great club.
  14. Agree with all of this except for beginning of pre-season. Wheels put in motion as soon as Scully advised the club of his decision.
  15. As I said previously this is a line in the sand time for the club Lets not have any gloating from either side of our supporters as to who was right and who was wrong We are Melbourne, we are all in this together Tom Who? Felt gutted this morning but over it now guess I prepared for it over the weekend. If you r not commited to the club then really we are better off. What doesn't kill you make you stronger Close the thread and move on
  16. Well it's here at last after months of posts and threads. I'm going to turn the computer off now and head off to bed. I expect I will wake tomorrow and as I am cycling in to work this sorry saga will all be over, through the headphones I will hear the news that Scully has made his decision or along those lines of a press conference being announced by GWS/MFC. I'm expecting bad news (my view has changed in the last 5 weeks) and I wont hold my breath expecing the AFL to compensate us appropriatley. But F##k crying about it I'm firmly of the veiw of this being a moment we say never again can we allow something like this happen to us. Time to move on once the decision is made, get the new coach in and start working towards being a side that makes us all proud and fills us with hope. I'm pretty confident 2011 is all part of a kick in the guts to remind everyone at the club yes debts are cleared, talent is on our list, we have great facilities at AAMI Park but the work to take this club where we believe we can be is far from done. "I dont respect your talent, I respect what you do with your talent"
  17. Forget Ablett that was a refereance they gave to your power club quote, but along a clubs number 1 Pick line in 2 years we don't have to look 2 far, think Jeff WHITE
  18. Good to see things are changing. Hawks moved in quickly after 96 and look at them now. I'm hoping Casey/Cranbourne is to us what Waverley & Tassie has been to them , although we have greater scope at Casey. 2011 could be the year where we realised the job was no wear near done, here's hoping Go Dees!
  19. Just put a post on every thread "That Scully is gone", we get the message you have been portraying it for months, FFS how many different ways must you try and convey the same message
  20. IMO it only confirms a belief I have that the club is (albeit slowly) turning the corner and we are left with the remnants of a list that had run its race under Cameron & Danniher. Good times ahead like every one else I hope they come soon. PS Cameron's Backline is good though but under he and Danners we lacked hardness which is showing now and the kids have this but will take a few years to grow and really show it
  21. Are we children here STFU and just chill until the decision is made either way, neither of you are dealing with facts. The facts are between Scully his management the two clubs and his management. Wolfmothers facts are of a conversation he had with him, I don't know WM or his relationship with Tom beyond being his sponsor so can't comment on how open or guarded Tom would be in conversation with WM. I hop from thinking every day on what his decision will be. I deal with facts every day in my job and analysing them and it is a difficult thing to do so can we just await the decision and maybe discuss MFC with Tom in 2012 or what we target in return for compensation picks
  22. I am gutted as everyone else here that we haven't jumped forward as quick as some expected, but lets not kid ourselves that we are as bad off as we were in 2007. All your doing is increasing the clouds of doom hanging over the club. Dannihers lack of turning over the list and Craig Camerons recruiting options, left our list in dire need of a rebuild which started under Dean and the young guys got exposed with greater responsibility this season. The benefits of which will be evident in the seasons to come. Our young guys are just like the Eagles kids in fact I think they are better, they mirrored us from 08-10 and have jumped up this year. We don't have Cox, Kennedy, Kerr & Glass. If we had those older bigger bodies things would be different but we have the list we have and will move forward with our without Scully as the case appears to be.
  23. Whinge Whinge! We cleared massive debt Improved Facilities Record membership Record sponsorship Can now afford to spend on a decent coach and support staff thanks to reducing debt and gaining big sponsorship Re-signed Trengove, Sylvia and others But lets not talk about the positives
  24. Good post a lot of the good work by the club recently gets lost in the Scully negativity
  25. BS Gaff only signed for 2 years as did Darling, Darling just signed an extension to his contract last week
