  1. Ben Holland was a great trade! Borderline 22, but could come into the side a fulfill a role. Shocking kick but had good hands and could play forward or back and also rucked when we were in trouble. We gave up pick 21 for Ben. The player who was taken with that pick was Alex Gilmour. followed by Cameron Thurley and Matthew Moody. We certainly won that trade. I reckon Hale would be better than Holland.
  2. Not really any worries for them though. Thornton is dead wood. Griggs is decent but certainly won't be hard to replace Walker is injury prone, poor disposal and is on the borderline of there best 22. Jacobs is good but is third in line for the ruck. Anyone I miss?
  3. indeed. It's going to be interesting to see who stays on the list now. Maybe the club is expecting some of our players to be traded out. Player X, and 3rd pick for Player Y. This would free up an extra spot.
  4. This is what im thinking also. If the Blues end up with pick 14 then they will be much more likely to part with pick 18. If we could get pick 18 for Warnock and our third round pick would be awesome.
  5. Hey Dannyz. Whats his motive for coming to us? Game time? Home sick?
  6. Mick Malthouse will be a director of coaching at the pies. Essendon are also looking very likely to appoint Bomber Thompson or Mark Williams as a director of coaching. What the hell does a director of coaching do? Do we need one?
  7. Was always going to go back to Essendon one day. Just like Scott West will likely be going back to the doggies in a year or two. Wellman was great for the club. I remember reading a Martin Flanagan article saying that Wellman would make changes in the coaching box without waiting for imput from Bailey.
  8. Yep. If the interchange restrictions happen (which looks extreamly likely) then the 2nd ruck position will become obsolete. Instead every club will need a number 1 ruck and a big forward or back who can ruck while giving the number 1 ruck a break. Jamar, Spencer and Gawn are the true rucks. Fitzpatrick is a forward who can ruck. Martin is hopefully a forward or back who can ruck. Paul Johnson is a 2nd ruck, and is now not needed.
  9. Protected player again this year. I'm not going to forget how he got away with driving his elbow into pavlich's face. Should have been 2 weeks minimum. Instead he gets a brownlow. Umpires award indeed.
  10. Far out. What is it with this guy and demonland?
  11. Oh cool. In that case I would like to clone Hitler and play him in the back pocket.

It's not just the bulldogs who turn on their champions. Many demons supporters turned on Yze and Robbo before they left. The bulldogs look gone for the short term though. There depth is rubbish and have about 5 best 22 players leaving this year. Lucky that they have 2 father son picks in the draft. Couldn't have come at a better time for them.
  13. Who is Bruce's manager? He is worth every cent Bruce pays him. Last time Cameron's contract was about to get renewed there were rumours flying left right and centre. Brucey got a good deal then and is holding out for a better one now. He won't be going anywhere.
  14. Yep. I agree with you. My point is it would be hard to work out what is a free and what isn't when carlton players would play it up every second time. I thought the umpiring was of a good standard
  15. Give the umpires a break. It's a very hard game to umpire. Let alone when you have Murphy playing to get free's and appealing to the umpires every second moment. And then you have Waite taking a dive every chance he gets.
  16. Seriously. If he was the 2nd best kick in our team then this thread would not exist because we would have renewed his contract a long time ago.
  17. Why the hell would pavlich want to become a demon? Money? Gold coast would offer him more. Premierships? He is playing finals right now with the team he is with already. Pavlich always waits until his season is over before signing a new contract. And he recently married a freo girl. He's not going anywhere.
  18. Bit of a misleading thread title there mate. We need him for a few more years. His disposal is not good and I can't see it getting better.
  19. Matthew Watson is a tall defender. If he manages to slip to us I believe it would be mad to pass on him. Here is some info I have taken from snoopdog from bigfooty. Snoop has picked Watson at pick 13 in a bigfooty phantomdraft. Re: 2010 Big Footy Official Phantom Draft- Trial Run Gold Coast Suns MATTHEW WATSON Pick 13: Matthew Watson DOB: 16/07/1992, Height: 194cm, Weight: 99kg Club: Calder Cannons GC need another tall defensive option IMO and I decided that I would pick up a more bigger bodied defender who can play on the gorrilla forwards, and Matthew Watson is that type of player. He is one of the best KPD's in the draft IMO and provides good drive coming out of defence through that wonderful left foot of his. I can see him being a ready made player and I think he will have an impact next year, I see him as a similar type of player to Michael Hurley from the Bombers in that ready made KP prospect, although Watson is probably only going to be a defender at this stage. He reads the play well and is very strong in the contest and good at getting in a fist, he is also quite good defensively on the lead but may struggle against the atheltic players with pace off the mark. Another issue IMO is how ready made he is, very similar to Darling and whether he has been dominating due to his size, and whether this will translate to AFL, but IMO I think there is enough ability there to make sure it does. Skills wise Watson is very good, he has a lovely long left foot, that is powerful accurate and will hit most targets, he will provide a lot of drive from defence and zones will be easier to pick out, Geez GC are going to have some gun kicks in there defence with potentially Josh Toy and Trent Mckenzie all able to kick 60m as well. He also is very strong in the contests and rarely gets pushed off the ball, and he reads the play very well. He is also quite clean below his knees and is able to compete well when the ball is on the ground and is very competitive and tackles strongly. Athletically I have a few question marks on Watson, Draft Camp will be important. He appears to have reasonable pace, but may struggle with fast lead up players, and he has also got above average agility and a solid vertical leap. He is not got standout qualities like Patrick McCarthy but he does have a good slid base and no real weakness, I would like to see him improve his endurance. All in all he is very good prospect who is good defensively and also provides great rebound, there were a couple of others considered here but none had the all round package of Watson and he compliments McCarthy nicely.
  20. Taken from Bigfooty Boards: Name: Lucas Cook Height: 194cm Weight: 82kg DOB: 3rd March 1992 Position: Tall Forward Club: North Ballarat Rebels TAC Cup Statistics: http://www.sportingpulse.com/team_in...102897-8058800 Video Footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Svd3Qc64k0w In 2008 Cook played three matches for Vic Country in the NAB AFL Under – 16 Championships, averaging 13 disposals, three marks, and 4 inside 50’s, and also 5 matches for North Ballarat in the TAC Cup. He backed this up to play 15 games as a lead up key forward, scoring 14 goals at an accuracy of 64%. He also tallied 23 score assists – ranked equal 9th in the competition. AFL Prospectus An exceptional first game of the championships, in which he kicked five goals against Vic Metro, including three in three minutes in the second quarter, stamped him as a key forward prospect. He leads well, can take a pack mark, and is capable of scooping the ball off the deck. Intensity has been a question, but maybe not now that’s he growing more confident. Paul Daffey The key forward impressed for Vic Country in the Under 18 championships and has taken his game to a new level in the TAC Cup. He is a mobile forward with a good leap and clean pair of hands. He presents well to the ball carrier and his set shot kicking is technically sound. Cook will need to have a big finals series for his team to progress. TAC Cup website
  21. That's awesome. Really cool getting insights from people in the club. Defiantly should do it again. Next time he does it we should get a whole group of questions posted on here that he could answer. I really loved it when Craig Cameron used to come on here around trade time and have a chat. Hopefully Cam can join up and give us some info on here too.
  22. I would really like to see an un-cut version. I know they are trying not to glorify drugs. But I want to know why he did it? What made him keep going? What he felt like before and while getting high. Did he ever think he shouldn't be doing this? None of these answers yet. Just the usual. Drugs are bad, [censored].
