Bomba will be going nowhere. I just watched "The Hanger" of Fox Footy and the segment focused heavily on Thompson and his coaching philosophies. He is so emotionally attached to the EFC I'd be very surprised to see him leave. He spoke of his wife's disappointment that he was returning to head coaching duties but was ultimately comfortable that it would be for just the one year. Said he wanted to be more involved with his other businesses and be a better husband and that the assistant role was allowing that. If he came to MFC his wife would divorce him.

Our ruck stocks are looking ordinary. Spencer tries hard but is really out of his depth against quality ruck men like Mumford et al. Jamar, well I just can't seen him getting back to AFL level form given he's almost had as much time away for actually playing as Clark has. Gawn will be handy given his height but he'll never be a Sandilands. I think he's our best chance at a long term prospect but if a Grundy type pops up in the draft we'd seriously have to consider. Fitzy and Pedo will give some respite at either end of the ground and in the centre when required but we can't rely on them to provide clearance quality ruck work. One thing I do like about Spencer though is the way he can get down to ground level and collect the ball. Whatever value that gives the team I'm not sure of but it looks impressive.

I don't believe so, Pates but I respect yours and others take on it. I just felt like it was "hey Chip kicked a goal which is a big deal because it's pretty rare," as opposed to "righto boys, we're in this just need to keep pushing." As it turned out, the game effectively ended after that goal.

Frawley can take off at the end of this season for all I care. That last quarter goal was all about him, his celebration and his teammates celebration showed that. The majority of this group of players has NFI about what team sport is.

I'd assume that it's external influences that are having more impact than his physical inability to heal properly and get on the park. I'm also assuming that the club would have controls in place that treat the mental conditioning of his injury treatment as well as the physical. Maybe this is part of the process at this point in time. Putting myself in his shoes, if things on the home front were fine and everything else was going along well, I would just suck it up and do as the club asks with regards to any treatment whatsoever. As I say, this is just another opinion in a tough situation but I honestly feel that Clark is dealing with greater issues outside of the club. Get his head right, then get his body right.
