Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 12
McQueen replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Grundy didn't play in the magoo's today. I reckon he'll play. -
No Clark means one less tall. Still reckon we'll be in the market for a young Ruckman this draft.

Damian Barrett's anti MFC spin doctoring
McQueen replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wow. What prattle. He really is a vindictive little boy. I read that article and seriously felt as though I was reading a rant by an immature teen. Sports journalism is in a dark place. Thank goodness for the many knowledgable and witty folk here on 'Land. -

Yeah. Fascinating.
-
Mitch Clark would absolutely thrive in this current team with the way they're starting to play.
-
The Pies must be spewing they went after Lynch to solve their ruck/forward combination issue or whatever they thought it was and as such disposed of Dawes. In fairness to Lynch though, I was watching our game against Port in Busselton on the weekend and got talking to a bloke who claims he was a very good mate of the Q Stick. Reckons he's injured etc and will still make it back to the firsts. Personally I can't see it with Witts and Grundy on the way up... Could be wrong but honestly WGAF. Dawes, as long as he stays fit, has really found a groove and is proving to be another decent signing during Neelds short tenure. It's amazing what a great coaching group can extract from individuals.

Jurrah threads should be hit on the head as soon as they start IMO. Pun intended.
-
Lol. Made a meal of it.
-
Cheers. Fat fingers on iPhone.

I would be surprised if there's not >60,000 next Monday.
-
Natainui takes out so many of his team mates by just jumping into packs.
-
And does that look like "Big Bird" from Sesame Street on their jumper?
-
He said that he'll always remember himself as a MFC player. Whilst I've also heard a strong rumour about Freo fancying their chances, I just don't believe that he would say such a thing and then pull on another clubs guernsey.

Opportunities missed or momentum building?
McQueen replied to Fitz Fitzpatrick's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's a pity that we've only just missed out ona few games now and could've been making up the top 8 if we'd won those games. For me, I take full heart in the quality of those performances and I'm sure the players will too - even though they'd be [censored] off they didn't get the points. The positive out of these close misses will be our position during trade and draft periods. We know our team is getting better and in theory should be an even more competitive unit next season but with more leverage at trade time, we will target and recruit those players Roosy is best at identifying. -
Traded Cloke out of my Dream team this morning. Spew-ing.
-
The package he's on with the Lions must be very tidy. I imagine any offer we put forward would've been nothing to sneeze at. He's a gun.
-
If Mitch makes a comeback it'll be the best footy story in a long time. Better that Benny Cousins come back from his meth addiction. Better that Andrew Krakours return following an assault conviction and subsequent jail term. Etc. Castle in the air stuff.
-
But it wasn't just the losses that got to me. It was nauseating watching the club go from disaster to disaster off the field as well. How good is it to see the difference there?
-
The boil over of the season will take place this weekend. We're primed. Port are due to drop an easy game. These things happen.
-
It's a good thing you're not in charge.
-
Lol. Probably the security guys in hi-vis.

Melbourne should offer Patrick Dangerfield a $10 million contract
McQueen replied to DemonOX's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dangerfield's got some explosive pace about him but Crawford making him out to be the next best thing behind Ablettis rubbish. For instance, I know for a fact that Jack Grimes can keep up with him. -
Suns paid the big bucks and got Ablett. Giants paid the big bucks and got Scully. Callan Ward is five times a better leader and player than Scully. He got duped on his salary and the Dogs got screwed with compensation.

Apart from being a MFC player, there's something I find appealing about Beveridge. He took the reigns in a Hawks NAB challenge game earlier this year IIRC. I wouldn't sneeze at getting an experienced assistant out the Hawthorn system.
