Training - Wednesday 4th March, 2015 @ Fremantle Oval
McQueen replied to McQueen's topic in Melbourne Demons
Teams arrived and Ross Lyon walks over to greet Roosy. Roosy jokes "hello Ross, did we just wake you up?" The two of them are have a great exchange in the middle of the ground. Thick as thieves comes to mind. -
No sight of the boys as yet although I can see a MFC uniform getting around over by the club rooms or it might just be a bloke in a Bunnings shirt. Salubrious day here, 32 c with a wif of a southerly blowing straight up the ground. Conditions forecast for tomorrow are similar so it should be perfect weather for both teams to play a nice brand of footy - although let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. The ground looks to be in excellent condition also. How wonderful it is to park on the fence on watch training from the comfort of your car seat, it feels like I'm watching country footy. I won't be concerned by the authorised vehicles only sign. Brett Kirk just strolled by. Still no sign of players of players. Looks like I'll be taking an extended lunch break. I wonder if they're pulling beers over at the club rooms..

I bought a new white training Guernsey this year with number 7 on the back and was planning on getting Jack to scribble on it today. -

Weather looking good for Thursday with a top of 31 degrees. Should've dropped off a few by bounce down so at least it won't be as hot as nuts for the lads to play in. -

From the Western Demons Newsletter: Training "The team will be training at Fremantle Oval from 1pm - 2pm on Wednesday 4 March. This session will be accessible to members and supporters." -
You started a whole new thread for this rubbish. Mods.....

Melbourne v Fremantle @ Fremantle Oval - 5th March, 2015

I'll be heading down on Thursday to watch us absolutely pants this bunch of floggers. I hold the Fremantle footy club in as much contempt as the Pies. I reckon we'll go well and shock the football public with a dominant 10 goal win. But realistically, I'd be happy if we can show some attacking footy, clean disposal and real pressure tackling. More of last years defensively minded rubbish will be a major disappointment. The team are also having a short 1 hour training run at Fremantle oval on Wednesday which I'll sneak down to as its only 20 minutes from the office. It there's anything worth reporting I'll jot some notes for my fellow desperadoes. -
Lumumba for the last head.

It's pretty depressing isn't it.
-
At least it hasn't been mentioned regards any touches yet.

Viewing Geelong vs GSC. No need to detail what I'm looking for from this game.
-
Nitpicking, but please amend to NAB 'Challenge.' There is no cup to win.
-
I thought the NAB was a place to put your credentials on show and at a base level, play your role and perform with the hope of getting a spot in the 22 come round 1. Frawley clearly didn't achieve that last night. His best football is past him and to be perfectly frank, he occasionally looked good in a very shitty team and don't get me started about All Australian selection because that's debatable for almost the entire team. He had a good year, no doubt but his performances last year were pitiful for an experienced defender. I don't think he'll have a good year at the Hawks and will crumble under the pressure of being the 'big-name' free agent.

Scully overrated - 2 x compensation picks Sylvia overrated - Bernie Vince Frawley overrated - pick 3 (Brayshaw) Excuse me while I crack a stubbie.

Jeff Garlett Misses Court Appearance
McQueen replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
This isn't the aspect of the matter that concerns me. He did not bother to tell the club of past indiscretions and now the club and player have bad publicity. The bloke must be as thick as ten planks. -
Posters should remember that a lot of these good list decisions have also been made under Todd Viney. I reckon Todd would've been bettr placed than anyone to tell Roos that Sylvia wasn't worth it.
-
I doubt the Peel environment and training program would support the 'high performance' standards of Fremantle. He's been sent there with one clear message. AFL career over.

Jeff Garlett Misses Court Appearance

When he was a Carlton player: "What a complete loser. I hope he goes to Jail because he could've crashed and killed people being that drunk behind the wheel." As a Melbourne player: "Throw the book at him. Suspend him from the NAB challenge game against the Bombers.. That'll teach him." -
Surely Tom Gillies must get a run?

Christian Petracca - Season Ending Knee Injury
McQueen replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks for stating the obvious. -
I like the arrogance he shows on the field. Whilst not being a smartarse, but has definitely got a bit of strut about him. Great to have kids learning ropes full of confidence.

I thought it was caused by an innocuous bump that caused him to land awkwardly in general training. -

I don't disagree with any of that. Just got make the best of a bad situation and at least now there's a much better list to draw from and we're not hanging our hopes on first round draft picks to make an immediate impact. -

As shattering as it is for all of us, it's nowhere near what he'd be feeling right now so I recommend many of us put the sharps away. He's a 19 year old who's not played a single game yet. Sure, there's obviously a lot of potential in him but it's not as if he was going to be a vital cog in our push for Premiership glory this season. We coped with Hogan missing the entire 2014 season and are now all brimming with excitement for his debut. Let's now look forward to doing the same with Petracca.
