This might sound odd but how the hell do you dislocate a tendon? The patella makes sense but a tendon? Tendons are there to hold things in place and are fibrous. How do they dislocate? @Webber can you share some insight?

Training Photos : Monday 9th January, 2017 : Take 3

Love your work mate. Your efforts are very much appreciated. ? -
What's your sauce? Saty has provided his from the horses mouth and considering there's no strapping his knee I'm also skeptical.

It's been discussed time and time again that speed isn't the crucial player attribute some of us think it to be. Footy smarts is a long way in front and JT has oodles of that. I expect him to play frequently this year.

Ben Guthrie is painful to watch.

Indeed. Close Thread.

My employer put more than 100 people through it - we have approximately 3000 in Australia. I would estimate that 90% of the people that went on this training judged it similar to me. As added context, there was an accountability on the training operator to provide post-cohort support. They did but it was [censored]-poor and was decisively worse than the actual 4 day event. Not long afterwards, the whole exercise was shitcanned by management. I'm sure there are better operators out there better than what I went on and experienced. Don't get me wrong, I hope what the players did was fantastic and yields results. How those results are measured are the challenge.

Never went to university either, Saty. I deal with a lot of people who have and can tell you that for a lot of them there was no benefit.

The greatest risk posed with this sort of training comes at night, when you can see SFA and head out into unfamiliar terrain and have cause to run when you come under attack. Not the sort of environment I would be sending an expensive AFL player into - particularly when sleep deprived. Let's hope the reward is greater than the risk on this occasion and Tyson has no long term effects. Vogon is right. I'm no AFL listed player but I'd argue that I'm a lot smarter than many of them. The desired outcomes for elite sports teams would be very different compared to those of business leadership, even though they clearly have similarities. I look forward to reading/watching more about this in the coming weeks, if and when the club put something together about it. It might have been something as simple as an input towards selecting the leadership team for all we know.

Kudos to Rob Jackson and the other S&C team for producing that physique. The kid looks a weapon.

Love your work, Stu.

Brayshaw - "pure football brilliance."

The posters that report on training are great and always appreciated.

You do know I live in Perth?

The two things are entirely different.

I'm with you, rjay. The one I went on was in Lithgow back in 2010. Had ex SAS guys screaming in your face that you're a useless c$&t when being 'Patrol Leader' because your cohort is getting shot to pieces by snipers. One them had a nickname of 'Fifty' and an actual name of Callum (50 Cal rifle) which he thought was really cool. We got off to a bad start when I started calling him 'Low Cal' instead.. I thought it was hilarious, him not so much. We were starved and kept to about 6 hours sleep over 4 nights with lots of patrols. At the end of the event when you're so hungry they let you have a hot shower and feed you huge fat T bone steak and several cold Froffies - then they shove a satisfaction survey under your nose (perfect timing, huh) and you're all la la with a belly full of beef and beer and you give the thumbs up ?. The course was grouse! About a month later comes the realisation that it was a complete waste of time. We had one bloke do his knee and another twist an ankle that resulted in LTI's.

Training - during and after the break
McQueen replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I've been to these commando styled leadership/camaraderie weeks where you get put into a lot of sleep debt and are then relied upon to make good decisions. There were many injuries due to the nature of the terrain let alone a shed load of footballers belting into one-another. Poor training decision if true. -
If it's a question of who I want to step up, that should've stepped up by now, I'm looking at Dean Kent. He's been given a bit of an armchair ride by the coaches in my opinion. I'm sure they think he has the tools as do I. He's a classic example of consistent inconsistency. I reckon young Dion Johnstone might put some pressure on him and Jeffy by the sounds of it.

Did they all play more AFL games than you, DJ?

Gee, Binnie this is a bit tough. Here's a first pass but I reckon it'd change several times as I gave it more thought. The 10 below came to mind because of various reasons. Flower B Lovett T Viney J Viney Stynes Ooze D Hughes G Rigoni J Farmer S Stretch

It'd be wonderful to see Sam lock down a spot in the starting 22 in only his second season. He can certainly pluck the ball at height which our forwards do lack so it'll add another dimension. Best of luck young fella.

And put a third back several years. Hats off indeed.
-
Elementary my dear, BBO.

That was my point, boydie. Whether it's data driven or opinion based, it's not any easy process of judging when you've got 18 teams and all of the players that can roll thru the midfield to consider. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
-
Why bother with Champion data when you can just have all the journo's get together for an opinion piece? My opinion is that our young mids are second only to the Giants. WGAS anyway.
