That would be very funny.

Great to see the AFL being proactive and decisive on these major issues. Bunch of feckwits.
-
On the surface it looks as though they've drafted well and with Beams, Christensen and a few others you reckon they will bounce back reasonably quickly. The AFL essentially based the assistance on the mass walk-out a few years ago of Polec, Yeo, Docherty, Karnezis et al.
-
Lucky they got that priority pick last year.

I wish we played the team the Blues put out tonight because it was far weaker than the team we played. I think Carlton are gearing themselves for another healthy trade/draft period.

Marchbank is a defender..... I assumed when you mentioned 'our KPB possies' I'd take him over Oscar. Weitering is a different cat. Anywhere on the ground for that kid I reckon. I hope Carlton develop him well enough that when he joins the team he grew up supporting there's a flag for him.
-
KPB? Marchbank please. Kid looks the goods.

One question I would love answered for tonight's game is; who has the bigger head - Ollie Wines or Charlie Dixon?
-
Nah mate, not me. I also pass a few vehicles with MFC rego plates or membership stickers on the rear window. I usually just apply the small MFC member sticker to the rear of my vehicle. The rest of the stickers that come in the membership pack I save up and strategically place on my mates cars and wait to see how long it takes them to notice. You might've spotted one of my Freo mates car. ?

When they spanked Sydney in Rd 1 it looked promising. Now that Sydney are 0-4 not so much... Downhill skiers is a bit of an early call but they still have the players imo.

I tipped the margin of 52 points for tonight. I think I'm gonna be well short.

This was a perfect opportunity for ch7 to bring forward Monday nights episode of MKR.

Performance issue. Apparently couldn't finish a pack of Winnie Reds and a block of VB cans all in one night.

Hawks are doing what Freo did last year and what WCE did back when they picked up Nic Nat behind Wattsy. They're fugging tanking hard for one season so they load up with trade power via draft picks. Clubs are getting smarter about how to manage their flag tilts. FA has been milked and eventually compo will be hit on the head soon. With 18 teams in the comp, getting a good enough list is one thing but to string together a successful era is another. We've (hopefully) done the former but clubs like GFC have done the latter with Dangerfield, Henderson, Selwood, Stanley, Z Smith et al, whereas the Hawks and Freo have dramatically fell from grace to rebound via the above strategy I mentioned. It's all part of the systematic rorting the AFL teaches its competition.

Just snorted beer out of my nose. Damn you.

Have we really improved at all since last year?
McQueen replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
Holy [censored] mate. Viney is just 23 years old and essentially has two Blueys to his name already playing in arguably the shittest team for 15 years! Compare that to the leadership grounding Selwood got during that period of GFC success? It's just not relative mate. The game against Freo will be used as a learning platform for Viney and he will lap it up as usual and ensure it's a benefit to him and the team. I just can't believe that after a narrow loss to a team that has effectively been tanking last year that our supporters are willing to throw our LG to the wolves after only Rd 4. The overeaction (in general) is nothing short of astounding, -

Remember when Selwood tried that in 2015 and Viney put him to the sword? Swings and roundabouts. -
There was very little 'team first' acts yesterday from the majority of the group so I think this will be the focus at the club in the lead up to next weeks game. The 3rd quarter was terrible and should be treated in isolation. Both teams butchered the footy due to pressure and that's just something we'll need to deal with as the group evolves and becomes more composed. Hogan for Weideman is the obvious change. The others are more difficult but Melksham had a bad day and might be in the gun - Hibberd is the logical replacement but we'll need to see how the Casey team pulls up. Hannan has been okay but doesn't seem to get involved enough. His leap is great but his timing needs some work so I'm thinking a week or two back at Casey would be good for his development. There's a few options to go with here but Trengove, if he plays well today, could put himself in contention. Tim Smith is another if we want some added grunt in attack or JKH if we go with a mosquito fleet.

Thanks for the reality check. Surely that's the point of this thread?

What happened?

Look mate, I'm about to take the dog for a run. I'll PM you later on tonight and we can sort our differences out from there.
-
Nah, it's all Bernie's fault.
-
Okay, will do. You keep being toughest guy on the internet. It's obviously quite an honour for yourself.

I don't have the energy to debate the point today but there were many other turnovers that resulted in goals today. You just like to pick the easy ones that are on the last line of defence because it suits you're knowledge of the game.
