  1. Be careful - you will get a good dose of Cockburn.
  2. How’s the relationship with your folks?
  3. It was worse than that. Can you recall the whole media contingent getting on the story that Neeld had allegedly made racist remarks about Flash? It was just another variable for the media d-heads to use against the club when we were already KO’d. I recall Flash placing an arm around Neeld in a show of camaraderie not long after it was all allegedly took place.
  4. I was thinking why don’t we just look at Nissan but upon a quick search see that the Hawks have just done that. http://www.nissan.com.au/discover/news/2018/december/10/nissan-joins-the-happy-team-at-hawthorn
  5. Toe exercises. If he wasn’t able to do them I’d be worried but instead I’m happy to see a proactive measure that’s clearly aimed at mitigation of re-injury.
  6. ‘McQueen’ was actullay inspired by my then 2 year old son who was obsessed with Lightning McQueen the racing car. That coupled with my deep regard for the ‘King of Cool’ is why I wear and cycle the Steve McQueen avatars.
  7. It’s lovely country around here - stinking hot though. I’m staying on a farm out near Jindera but have also been to Bright yesterday and did some water skiing on the Hume dam which my body still hasn’t forgiven me for. It was a bad idea to pull out the slalom ski and think I’m Mark Baretta after a four year hiatus.
  8. Just helping the brother-in-law load a second hand clothesline at a property in Thurgoona (Albury) when the postie stopped with the mail - a bloke in his late fifties I reckon with tatts everywhere. I was wearing my MFC cap and he commented “a Demons man hey?” I replied “yeah mate, what about you?” ”Bloody oath” as he stretched his hi-vis polo down his chest to expose a dirty great MFC logo tattooed on his right pec.
  9. It’s becoming all too common mate but that’s nothing. I lived and worked in Zambia and DRC in Africa for about six years and I can tell you that they value life a lot less than us westerners. Some of the traffic accidents over there are horrific but rather than stopping to lend a hand, the local first responders steal what they can from people who are dying. Shoes are the most common for obvious reasons in truly horrific cases.
  10. Next year is the year we break a 55 year drought. It will be unbelievable.
  11. It’s been common knowledge that the Suns medical team capabilities and rehab programs were far from effective. Take the knee issues O’meara, Prestia, Swallow and Lynch for example. All but Swallow has pulled the pin on the place which I found surprising but not so much surprising now that his older brother is part of the Suns FD. Hall rubbished the place soon after he got to North and IIRC made special mention of their inability to rehab the players properly. KK is another prime example of the Suns injury mismanagement given the final identification of the root cause took them eons to discover. Professional players look for success, get home sick or get fed up with being injured and not properly rehabbed. This is why I’m particularly confident that KK will be a fantastic inclusion to the team and a lock for Round 1.
  12. More likely than you not picking up on a bit of harmless tongue-in-cheek humour I reckon.
  13. I’m really looking forward to the likes of Hunt and Kolodjashnij forcing Lewis out of the 22. They are the future.
  14. How [censored] up is that.
  15. Over from Perf at my folks in Colac and my old mans arrived this morning - Christmas Eve. Who knows when mine arrived at my address in Perf..... who cares really considering I’m not there and to be fair the excitement level is generally pretty low... Anyway, if the club wants to bleat on about delivering your membership package “before Christmas” to those who actually give a [censored], they should aim for a week or two prior and not 24 hours.
  16. There’s some cracking threads getting underway today.
  17. Fugazi. But I like it.
  18. FFS. Take a valium.
  19. I felt there was a definitive club strategy led by Jackson to avoid using "the Dee's" in his speeches or media engagements. It was heavily focused on using "Melbourne" when referring to the club, playing group and even us as members and supporters. I'm sure it was with the intent of re-connecting the club to the city by name and therefore grow our membership and branding that way. Pert however has been the "Dee's" this-and-that since his arrival. For formal events and other high profile media, I would like Pert to follow PJ's lead and refer to us as the "Melbourne Football Club."
  20. List is thin after the 24th player?
  21. I thought cards post was emphatically clear and a point well made.
  22. Not sure what the delay was but you are correct, Viney was distracted and was still able to react quickly enough to Selwood trying to take advantage of that.
  23. EF start of the third or last qtr I think when Viney hip and shoulders Selwood to his [censored] and gives away a free. Selwood then tries to play on and gets caught by Jack with his 57th tackle for the game and wins the ball back.
  24. Joel Smith looks like an absolute weapon with the build he has now. Combined with his athleticism and improved footy IQ, I’m wondering if he could really blossom next year? Just in the small amount of vision I’ve seen, he looks to have the technical aspects of ball control at a whole new level. Would put my mind more at ease with Lever’s recovery and the end of Lewis’s career.
