  1. What's a fair bit though Macca? We already hold the ace in pick 3. Why give it up unless GWS put a head turning quality player forward? And that player would also want to deal assuming still under contract and suit our requirements. All seems a tad late as well unless talks have been under way for some time already. Even with a first rounder coming back it's probably a late one next year, given GWS are likely to finish quite high. The academy picks also dilute the draft quite badly as has been mentioned so often.
  2. There were some whispers coming from plough as early as May that the Dogs were coming for him VT http://aflnation.com.au/2019/05/31/hawthorn-great-gives-his-view-on-isaac-smith-rumours/ However IF you believe Pickering on SEN this morning he was 'seemingly' adamant that there was interest but no serious offers have ever been presented...from 18:40 here... https://player.whooshkaa.com/episode?id=446214
  3. Are they seriously PO? There's been so much Joe junk time on radio/twitter i've switched off. Someone with cred is reporting this? An astonishingly bad play from where i sit as well if so.
  4. I will eat my hat if there's anything to this. For a bit of light entertainment (mods i also posted this in the "are we plotting a late heist?" thread. Feel free to delete that one maybe)...
  5. Not placing much cred on this but FWIW here it is...
  6. Dee you are quickly becoming the 'Werridee' of the trade period!
  7. Thanks LT. Can we afford to spend potentially years developing another giant though (Pruess)? Not saying he isn't worthy but not sure he fits in our list atm.
  8. Ah yes google was only showing me August. Someone else mentioned this earlier. A good indicator he impressed late in a big way. Thanks 247. Pick 8 is looking like a reasonable No. then if we land him with that.
  9. A phantom draft from August has him at 16 so you aren't far away on that one 247. The AFL power ranking has him at 28 which is probably a very low (conservative) estimate as he came into contention with a bit of a late charge apparently.
  10. What we think or want is just a wish list WTM. Taylor & Goody might agree with you. Some of the draft site rankings suggest he is top 10 but like many of these trades you only really know how well your picks have gone many years afterwards ie; in hindsight. Basing my view on his highlight reel and scouting reports. Super risky but my view doesn't count. Just an amature opinion at best. As they say in the classics... "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing".
  11. 6 & 8 would still land Stephens & Weightman. That assumes we are staying in the draft and not looking to trade in a player. I have issues with 8 being a little too high for Weightman. But who am i to question. If Taylor & the team have huge wraps and are intent on getting him in then they might not have been willing to risk something lower. This may well be a late 'take' by Tom anyway as click bait. Wouldn't get too caught up in it.
  12. Someone has definately hacked Steve's account BM.
  13. Haha absolute bullocks! Close thread pls Andy.
  14. We (in the bleaches) don't know who JT really wants though GL. Our first pick preference might be Stephens? Pick 6 (i hope) will still get that part done and a 2nd rounder gives us our 3rd pick in the PSD (assuming it's a must have coming in to it).
  15. See above Mark....probably correct
  16. Chandler needs a bit more time ie; 2020. Spargo is no small forward imo but we will know by end of 2020 if he's def a bust anywhere else (OD i know you already think he's there...to save you from unnecessary typing!?) Bedford has shown very little glimmer of hope at all imv from the few matches i've witnessed and looks that way. Nice double entendre W4
  17. Ok so my only reasoning was that there was some talk that we MUST come in to the draft with at least three picks. A swap as i suggested still gets us what we want (assuming) in Stephens with 6 and leaves us with 8 for Weightman plus the spare third pick required to come in to the draft ie; 25ish. If that third pick isn't a must then sure...scrap everything i have suggested and i would agree 200% !
  18. So are you saying splitting 3 isn't happening or it might but not for 6 & 25?
  19. Yes i saw the talk on his elite kicking and there was one vid showing him in action with a crazy 45 meter or so 45 kick to a player inside off the wing or HB, but the other highlights showed him mostly bombing. Just saying.
  20. That seems to fit with the above
  21. Posted this in the Mahoney on radio thread a little while back..... ..."So we split pick 3 for say 6 and about 25? Use 6 to ensure we nab Stephens who, outside of Rowell & Anderson, looks like the must get jet. Another run & gun outside mid to eventually join Langdon, replacing Stretch as depth on the list (initially), till he finds his feet. Then grab Weightman with 8 as the small (walk up?) classy small forward. We are then still left with a 25ish pick."... Thoughts?
  22. Agreed ...3 seems too high hence the split with GWS for 6 but.....what if someone nabs him even before then? Outside run and silk for us is much needed and tbh the players outside the top two till about 12 have all been rated as not that different in terms of a stand out. It more comes down to getting the best 'potential' talent for what we need. For me all roads (for us) in this particular draft in that top 12 lead to Stephens & Weightman. Whilst they are only highlights and not many at that, Young seems more like a classic inside(ish) mid who bombs alot. That worries me and also we are already well weighted with inside mids.
  23. A pitty we aren't in the running for Bruce LT. 25 might have clinched it. I know nothing about De Konig. Research time!
