  1. Personally i feel there's a bit of a gap between the top 12 (approx) and the rest. 3 down to 14 is a big drop before you get a first look. Would want something 10 or under on the first pick.
  2. Ah yes you are right AD. My apologies. Alzheimer's!
  3. Thanks mate. Yeh i took a good look previously. Exciting talent off that but looks can be deceiving on these reels sometimes. Just thought you (or someone here) might have had a good look up close. Not saying he's worth a pick 3 but if we happened to split the pick ... grab him around 10 to 15 or so if available.
  4. His Manager seemed pretty clear the only serious discussions he has had so far are with Carltank & the Aints. Things could change as they sometimes do but sounds like we aren't in the picture at this point.
  5. Dazzle i may have covered this with you before but have you had an opportunity to look at Dylan Stephens live on occasion/s at all?
  6. Might want to Refer to post i was responding to DB
  7. I wouldn't put Salem, JKH & ANB as genuine on ballers LH. Can play there and have but as for their effect (inside)? More outside than inside. My issue with the on ballers we've had until now, aside from Gus, Harmes and to a lessor degree Tracc (more time at HF until second half this season), is their outside work. Mostly inside grunt and to play three similar through there (Chunk prior to this season, Clarry & Viney) made us too predictable and inside focussed. To me this was the case in the initial part of 2018 until Viney's absence through injury, with Gus and Harmes forced to spend more time at center bounces (prior to 666) and stoppages, resulting in a more balanced inside / outside mix. By the time Viney returned we were on a nice winning streak and sure, he fitted in ok, but i still thought the mix was better when he wasn't on the park. And i'm certainly not inferring Viney isn't worthy etc, just that we looked and imv performed better when we were only playing one or a max of two genuine inside mids in the mix around stoppages during his absence, rather than all three at once ie; Jones/Viney/Clarry vs say Jones/Clarry/Gus or Viney/Jones/Harmes (ie, at least one inside/outsider in the starting on ball mix). Having said all that we should see a better balance in the mix assuming Tracc's time here is being upped significantly in 2020 and Gus is unimpeded by injury and somewhere back to his 2018 form. Jones moving mostly elsewhere.
  8. Even if the Crows were happy to pay $1.2m of the $1.6m WW??
  9. Fair enough PO. Happy to defer to those better in the know like Dazzle. I just like the look of Stephens (albeit highlight reels are always fraught with danger). Appears to have it all (at ground level) including decision making under pressure. Looks very comfortable in traffic and able to find space with agility, burst speed and poise for the finish. Nice shot at goal as well. Would be very pleased if we got him in the draft.
  10. Nailed it. And IF his back issues are that bad (Lucifer forbid) he may well have similar issues in 2020 with a similar result. This board will look completely diff of so in 12 months. Rant city! I'm not saying trade for trades sake either. He could put in another 2018 in 2020. Assuming he stays that's what we all hope. IF and only if a very solid inside / outside polish option (who can finish off the good work with decent kicks inside 50 and bring others in to the game with perimeter hand ball eg, Tomo, Langdon, Hannan) presented itself.
  11. Was carried along in the equivalent of a footy tidal surge for a few years PF amd got lucky. Played a few decent games but also gifted as many chances in a very good team that could cope with and cover a few NQRs. All clubs have them and they generally look better when surrounded by a few champs and some very solid team mates who are on a roll. Problem is many teams don't carry such luxury on their list and some never will. Only when the tide goes out do you see who's been swimming naked and we saw that after 2015 with Shoey.
  12. This seems like the lessor of the two evils for mine PO. However, plenty of talent coming up. A few alternatives to Ash (not limited to these obviously)... - Dylan Stephens? Did quite well during the combine in the agility and 20m sprint. Other than Noah Cumberland, no one else finished in the top 10 in both of the above. Lovely left foot and not bad on the right also at this early stage. Seems elusive in traffic and happy to roll out on either side. Ability to shake down opponent in close and has break away speed. - Some aerial X Factor via Serong or Bergman (1st in vertical jump, 2nd in running vertical jump)? The latter on his day sounds like he can do the extraordinary. - Hayden Young? ....who i must admit i know very little about other than some significant wraps on his kicking skills. Came first in the agility test which is no mean feat.
  13. Had an ankle for about four weeks mid season. I think it's a recurring one but only guessing. Might be a bit of a risk on that front but then Stretch hasn't exactly been durable either.
  14. Believe he had a few injury issues that saw his 2019 effected. If he gets over those i believe he is a meaningful upgrade on a Stretch. Bit more of a running outside winger but also bigger bodied with a significant height advantage. Averages about double the number of goals and just under double the meters gained vs Stretch. Marks a tad more. Stretch tackles a bit more and a few less turnovers but might be kicking it safe more often. Significant improvement on the likes of JKH. ANB plays a diff type role but might even push him out a little depending on roles / match ups. Not very good on the trade front but gut feel says for a mid late third round Cutler improves our depth as mentioned and is a bit of a steal. Be going for him big time on that proviso subject to the usual medico testing. Not much here ...from 38 second mark if interested. Cutler v Stretch (Career averages)... https://m.afl.com.au/stats/stats-pro#/Compare?playerIds=CD_I297406,CD_I297139&comparisonTab=h2h
  15. About to request a trade back to Vic apparently
  16. If Pruess gets super AFL ready / fit. A big If. And IF he can handle a serious AFL role for weeks at a time. No doubt he still gets the occasional "managed" and/or learnings/recovery/match ups stint back at Casey for a week or more on occasions. How about we start blooding him a little more in the middle at center bounces and through the middle while Big M spends a bit more time up forward? That way Tomo gets to play in areas he might be more effective / damaging and T-Mac isn't always copping the tallest or No.1 defender. T-Mac can't be expected to carry the only tall KF mantle in 2020 if we can't trade in an alternative. And with Pruess covering the ruck while Big M is resting on the bench this allows Tomo to go forward more often playing the 2nd KF role in support of T-Mac. P.S. A fit Hannan on one wing and Langdon on the other is, imho, potentially the most damaging duo. Not saying Tomo never plays through there but much of it will depend on where Goody sees Hannan/Tomo playing. When Hannan pushes forward Tomo can fold back to a wing role for the outlet kick behind play etc. Two very different players both offering different assets in these positions.
  17. So you're after Freddie Clutterbuck Mr Leg!
  18. Well that's a bit rude even if true George! And here's my pre-emptive Picket style parley in response to that little gem (apologies in advance to Picket...and George!)... ....."No wonder we are a basket case with Zero premierships to show in a light years of lifetimes! Sheeeit"....
  19. Posted this in response to D58's query over Butler in the Langdon thread... Agreed but it is also able to work because of the recruiting side D58. More players with leg speed = quicker closing speed = less time/space to decide/dispose = pressure cooker = increased turnovers. And what are the Tigers the best at in terms of how they score? ....converting off turnovers AND keeping the ball in motion and getting the ball going forward (field position). Whether that's through forward handballs or just knocking / slapping / spiking the ball on etc. The most meters gained by any club in 2019. Tigers also able to capitalise on their pressure / turnover / meters gained game with a very potent twin tall/quality small forward set up that pressure well at ground level. Disposal skills also helping generally along with a rock solid defence behind the ball as we know. There is definitely a method/system but it is very much attuned to taking advantage of their player strengths. While there are no doubt many players better than Butler on their list, i would not discount his ability to bring some of the above attributes having been well drilled in the same method / system. Even if he doesn't star, to some degree, he would also bring something else that might come in very handy as an opposition coach...inside intel / knowledge of what is probably the best system doing the rounds (for now anyway).
  20. And Jetta hardly made it on the track and is ageing. Frosty can play on a small medium and tall. Jetta is limited to a small or slightly taller.

  22. Very happy with this @ 22. Now for a speedy small forward or two. Alot of whispers around that we are now into Butler but who knows. The circus rolls on.
