  1. Still growing! (But agreed....a few centimeters shy)
  2. If we stuck Young and Gould in our backline ....wow.... B: Hore May Lever HB: Young/Jetta Gould Hibb/Salem That's a potential All Australian backline at some point. Would still only think about grabbing Gould if splitting 8 though. Say we miss our target (Kemp/Robertson?) then go for a split for say 10 and whatever... we are then in the mix for say Stephens, Weightman or Gould. Pickett with the 3rd!!
  3. Certainly not putting him in the top 10 LT. Not sure where that's coming from. Nor suggesting he had to go on a bender to blow up a little either. Just a little lax on the diet here & there if you get my drift. Bit of tongue in cheek but has probably gone on in the past on occasions with the Hawks/Eagles etc attempting to hide their man a little lower down the order. Something the Crows would need to do given their 2nd. Wouldn't be the first player to come into the system a tad chunky either and needing to pick things up. Can be done ? And who mentioned restructuring an entire game plan? The game plan doesn't change...the strict governing of it might lax a little however, IF he's turning / saving matches occasionaly. And who's to say he can't adapt at 18? Astounds me that some compare an 18 yo to a 26 yo with ingrained habits at such an early stage of their career before they've even kicked one ball at AFL level. They can still change/learn at 18 surely. And agreed re Young & Ash. Different types off HBs. Young at 3 is a lock for mine.
  4. Seems fair. Any chance he was under instructions from a very interested Crow FD? Fair enough. Although if he's mostly hitting targets and kicking the odd goal i reckon the game plan will adjust more willingly!
  5. Fine with all of that given what we dished up in 2019 ..except... The rediculous 3.45 start in Perth first up likely to be in insane heat. Why not start it at 7.30 and avoid the sun factor? Boys will lose so much weight and conditioning in that one match alone they'll be stuffed the following week. Becomes a must win or we more than likely go 0-2 after GWS at home.
  6. Some of these extracts already embedded in earlier highlights but a few extras here. Continues to impress and makes me wonder how he could drop 3 places to 20 on Twomey's Oct draft rankings (from Sept). CD has him at 15 in his latest rankings which is more realistic imv. Gonna be a general across HB for someone and might make a solid leader as well at some stage. Reads the play and ball so well for someone so young and the kicking/decision making damn good...
  7. If it comes off we also look like a club with a super medical team that can pull off the miraculous. A potential destination club for anyone else in a similar vein. Bennell could also become our Marlion in his own way, a great football story in coming years and a super headline in pre-game build ups on the box. Potential cult following also. The upside is massive and at worst if it doesn't work out we stand to lose very little imv. Fingers & toes crossed (while stretching calfs!).
  8. Does anyone have any highlights of Robertson? There's no thread that i can see either.
  9. Just my view from the Taylor podcast... Pick 3 wont be swapped. Pick 8 is live depending on what is available (in our preferred mix) and what options present on the night. Kemp would appear to be on the agenda but if missed it wouldn't surprise me if we then attempted to swap for say 11 (Stephens/Jackson) and a 30s/40s pick. My dream picks under that scenario would be Stephens / Pickett but sadly i doubt Pickett is even on our radar.
  10. We'll agree to disagree on this one DS. I can't see a newb ruckman being picked in the top 10 but then again stranger things have happened. And it is the MFC.
  11. Quite possible RB. Freo need a Sandilands replacement and he is a WA boy. Kemp coming back ready for 2021 to fill Chunk's role.
  12. If we were talking a Cripps, Danger, Rioli type DS then yes. Taylor/Goody won't risk 3 on a gangly Ruckman trying to transition from a completely different sport that's shown a bit of good form towards the end of a carnival and who 'might' also make a transition to a forward! There's a big difference between taking a calculated risk vs throwing caution to the wind. I don't see any other club showing keen interest in him as a top 5/6 forward candidate and i think many would be even more cautious now after the Cox experiment. That's not to say others won't be interested, but certainly not in the top 10 and certainly not with a predominantly forward role in mind. A ruckman pushing forward occasionaly who is in the mix with a club in need of his type (ie; mostly rucking) around 11 to 15? Sure.
  13. Howe always intended to join his boyhood team TGR. People tend to gravitate to the place they most want to be and it has been said he wasn't all that happy towards his end days at the MFC. I doubt we could have kept him other than on a fairly big overs contract.
  14. Just my interpretation reading between the lines Davos. Also, he would be taking a mega risk on Jackson at 3 when he is rated nowhere that and made the 'we won't be bloody stupid' point when he went on to say if there is a 0.5% risk of losing a preferred player in a pick swap (trading lower) then it aint happening. Under that proviso there is not a chance in hell's kitchen he (we) will use pick 3 on Jackson plus put his career at risk by taking such a huge gamble (with 3). Sounds too experienced to be making such a blunder regardless. The only possibility he might is if he has no say in the decision (mostly coach driven), highly unlikely imv.
  15. So in summary.... > Jackson - a likely prospect and seriously considering him but not with pick 3. More interested in Young & Green (obviously expecting GWS to snaffle him though). > Pick 8 - we might be more willing to target a specific player 'type' but will all depend on what happens on the night and who is still available at that point (this might also include a late pick swap). > Bennell - Have taken the first step in a number of steps required before deciding.
  16. I certainly hope not LT. Pert should be intervening on this IF Taylor (Goody) is/are seriously considering a ruckman at 3
  17. A bit of time there wouldn't hurt but don't mind the idea SF
  18. A very solid outcome unless we can split 8 and still land Stephens with say 10/11 & a bonus of Pickett with a third pick somewhere around 30 to 40. The Hawks have 11 & 30.
  19. We don't have to dream on Young but i assume you are referring to 'the rest'. Decent mix if we land them. The alternative is, IF we believe we can get Stephens or Weightman at 10 is a swap with Freo for their 10 & 58. 58 on Pickett, provided we are certain he is going to be there.
  20. I suggest that will be a fair chunk of what we were planning to spend on Elliot....performance loaded of course!
