  1. I don't usually take any notice of Derwayne but his comment "too much Hollywood" summed it up perfectly
  2. There's only one team in the AFL that can build you up and let you down so religiously. Don't even bother with finals pls. We'll be embarrassed....again.
  3. Playing duds into AFL winning form ...yet again. Pathetic defence and terrible forward 50 pressure / competitiveness also. This forward line is rooted.
  4. Floren just walking through traffic like it was under 16s there. My gosh
  5. So who's on Pap guys? What a disaster at selection and so far on the day this has been
  6. why are all three of Weid, Brown and Fritta all going up at the drop? One of Fritta or Brown should be leading away from there fmd
  7. Jones seriously awful stuff. Goody you need to pull the trigger and bring Harley in pls
  8. Would love to know what his role is. Has he even touched it so far?
  9. i'm getting an awful feeling the injection of Oscar and Smith (can probably afford to carry one max) is gonna cost us big time here.
  10. As i said a few weeks ago, he's a very good reader of the play and intercept defender, but gee for a bloke who cost us in the draft and gets paid $800 k a year or so, Lever's loopy kicking and sharpness under pressure is bog ordinary.
  11. Nice to see Harmes on the ball. Adds another attacking bullocking mid around the contest. I actually prefer him here to Viney. I'd be playing him (Viney) roughly 70/30 Small/medium forward / Mid a la Papely style
  12. Spargo 6 goals from 6 shots.... running at 100% goal kicking efficiency!
  13. WHy the hec is Tomlinson at FF!? Wow what a mess up forward. Fix it Goody. Tell those who shouldn't be there, including Fritta and Melk to GTFO and play higher!
  14. They look flat as a tack and all running kicking forward in straight lines. Switch or 45 to change the angle of attack and make it harder for the opp to defend
  15. One option... Get all players, other than Spargo & Weid, to lead their players to the arc or just outside. Leave those two with space in front and space behind them for Brown to lead back into. Wow O-Mac....5 meters off his man left in no man's land there. And all players running forward of the ball before that caught out on the turnover. Ordinary stuff Demons. Saved by Harmes on that.
  16. Where's a small front n square? Unbelievably bad structure on that entry
  17. Younger inexperienced teams often go super hard early. Just need to stay in touch in the first here.
  18. Nice flat sharp pass from Melk there and a solid contested mark from Brown
  19. Yep.... i reckon that's a possible 5 goal decision right there. Already involved in that first score.
  20. Some very astute work there Dee.... i agree re the backline looking settled and nicely balanced prior to the Doggies match. Much of the loss was us not locking down on the Bont who had one of his usual day outs againt us plus a horrid effort from the forwards who applied some low level pressure inside 50 and allowed the Dogs to waltz out and transition too easily off HB for multiple score launches. I don't mind Rivers for Lockhart though although with Hibb out i believe he was a must in this week.... not Smith. And you are right, we shouldn't be relying on one player down back to be bailing us out every other week. Not gonna happen against the better clubs.
  21. Via Zoom? Thought about pre-recording your responses? Hit the play button and your away GC!
  22. As if all us southerners aren't aren't suffering enough D11. No work, no footy, no finals here, the GF stolen from our magnificent G, no men's bars (wait, is that an essential service!?) and here you are bringing up the 'perfect one day' factor. May the fleas from Gawny's sacred beard infest your armpits!
  23. Reading this again Ox, are we seeing some similarities (albeit we are still a fair way off their level and obviously with many differences to each list) to the way the Tigers play? It wouldn't surprise me to be reading this article about a scrappy Tiger win a la last night's vs the Dockers as this excerpt demonstrates... ..."Melbourne’s inability to compete with the Saints in the centre proved to be an issue for a lot of Saturday night’s game, but it was able to win the ball back around the ground and lift its intensity after half-time..." Not sure if it's just a one off but maybe losing the mid field clearance count isn't such a bad thing if we are covering the outside and winning it back around the ground (at stoppages) and on the turnover. The Tigers get most of their scores from turnovers rather clearance work. Would be interesting to see some info on which area we had been scoring from in past season or two and even the first half of this one vs the second half of this one or even the last 5 to 6 rounds.
