Thats better from Laurie. Chandler doing quite well. Pretty standard. Run under a couple he probably could have marked in contests but doing quite well so far (at this level).

The Importance of keeping humble as supporters
Windy Hill was the pitts in terms of facilities and viewing the game from what i recall. I used to have to stand on empty beer cans to see the game properly. I do recall getting in for free at one match though as there was a hole/gap under the wire fence. The toughest ground from my experience was Waverley Park. Most fights i witnessed were out there for some reason. From memory mostly Hawk supporters. Arrogant bunch of....

NON-MFC: Round 12, 2022
They have to yell it each time as if the player does the opposite after being told he is going to be free kicked. The coaching i can't stand is when the umps tell a player running near or.alomgside the mark, even when right behind an opponent, to 'Move out/Away'. As you say they are well aware of the rules. Stop coaching them FCS.

Been the difference tonight. Such an accurate kick and works super hard to get separation on opponent.

How long have you worked in the teaching profession Brownie?

NON-MFC: Round 12, 2022
Really sick of hearing both. Heaps of the outside 5 watching the Doggies as they mostly play it that way. Easiest solution ....Channel 7 dont mic the umps! But yeh need to lose this rule

NON-MFC: Round 12, 2022
If a player doesn't stand the mark immediately (the time to do so appears to be uniquely umpire dependent lol) and is a step or two away then he will be instructed to move back at least 5 meters from the mark (as to how any player knows exactly where that is i have no idea) with the umpire telling him "outside 5". Sometimes of course this is the player's doing in that he is deliberately stepping away from the mark anyway (because he wants to) and the ump is still telling him outside 5. In other words that player can now no longer go forward and stand the mark, he must stay "Outside 5". The Doggies mostly (but not always) prefer to play outside 5. And at times they sometimes choose to stand the mark or they get caught on the mark and can't go outside 5 after the ump calls 'Stand'. The short answer is it can be both but each call for outside 5 relates to one of the above scenarios. Geelong mostly prefer to get up in the opponents face and 'Stand' the mark. Hope that helps Sue
