  1. Max & Macca have concrete boots on tonight
  2. To have any chance of winning tonight we have to hit targets up within reasonable shooting angles. Going to the pocket won't cut it.
  3. Notice the patience from BB there... ends in a lead mark and shot at goal
  4. As I said ages ago...if you're going to put very little pressure on the opp coming out of your 50 your going to get beaten by most teams. By a team in the top 4....smashed.
  5. Without Hibbo & Hunt. With Viney, Harmes and Sparrow in. We're slow as a wet week around the contest. Kozzie's the only one with break away pace/clean disposal and he's playing inside 50. This is why i wanted Sparrow out, Baker in and Gus into the middle at least for his skills and evasive abilities. Baker is a poor ball user but at least he has a chance of getting the ball i50 fairly quickly and give our forwards a chance. He's not alone in the poor delivery stakes coming inside 50. Also we look flat as a tack tonight. Forget the system. Where's the motivation? That's partially on SG IMV. Spargo, Sparrow, Dogga, Harmes, Viney bar his one goal), Macca barely sighted and Max soundly beaten in the ruck in that second quarter.
  6. We fumble at ground level....they get clean pick ups and first use
  7. Pressure non existent ...just guarding space isn't good enough at this level
  8. Gave them way too much room in our forward half allowing them to settle .. same old same old from SG sadly.
  9. Tracc's having a mare so far
  10. Back to playing on at all costs get numbers to the contest footy. No smarts or patience in the way we're playing. Often kicking it straight to the opp coming inside 50. Go lateral if you have to or backwards FCS
  11. Macca looks off so far. Will need better than that to win.
  12. Why are we playing on at all costs and trying to thread the needle with passes too often? Also handballing to players that are one foot away. Very few are taking responsibility with ball in hand. Poor kicks coming inside 50 that started with Tracc... again. Also there are too many at the contest. Stay out and hassle your direct opponent. Pressure up in our forward half. Too much room / time for them to work. Harmes clean it up mate. Awful so far.
  13. Sparrow ...VFL skills
  14. The other thing to watch tonight....how do we cover the kick ins? Do we allow them half the field to play in like we've done before which has failed us badly? Certainly hope not. It has to be intense pressure from the get go starting pretty deep inside 50 for mine if we're to bring this one home
  15. My worry tonight is the lack of run off HB without our usual runners Hibbo & Hunt. Might struggle to rebound but let's hope not.
  16. If we are 8 goals up with 5 minutes to go... why not!
  17. Very slim chance of that now. Probably Nil. Just get double jabbed ASAP if you haven't already subject to getting recommendation from GP where appropriate. Soon as we hit 80% fully vaxxed the authorities need to open up (here in Vic) with some of the usual restrictions, such as masks indoors, distancing and limiting those who are indoors in workplace / events to those who are fully vaxxed. Most likely we'll be in lockdown till then. If we don't open up then the social / financial consequences for many will be horrific. For some it already would be. Anyone going indoors now needs to be wearing a N95 / P2 mask if you want to avoid catching it prior to getting fully vaxxed. Cloth & Surgical masks only prevent about 17% of virus particles from getting through vs Approx 80% prevention with respirator masks (N95/P2). Cloth & surgical do prevent those who have covid from exhaling particles (about 70%) but only if worn correctly and how many ppl ever wear them correctly!? And 70% is not prevention, especially for those who might be vulnerable or compromised where even small viral loads could result in unfortunate outcomes. We are heading for a Sydney level outbreak now.... just lagging behind but with one advantage. That lag will give many more a good chance of getting fully vaxxed before it gets pretty ugly.
  18. Nothing surprising. Basically no large metropolis can shut it down, not to zero anyway. Not once it's out in the 10s / 20s / 30s (loose in the community). With an R0 of 5-6 Delta is Alpha on steroids (R0 average of approx 2.5). Melb in lockdown till we reach 80% or maybe even later. Late Nov / Mid Dec at best i reckon. Fun times ahead...not.
  19. So like most Melbournians dieter!?
  20. Some regional ppl are also guilty of coming in to and through Melb and back again though Jaded. It's not all one way. I personally witnessed a number of country folk flouting the ring of steel last year and taking routes around the check points to get in to Melb metro and out again. In addition, i could be wrong, but pretty sure freight carriers are still able to get through the interstate borders and drop/pick up their goods here...then head to the next state or back again (with permits). There's plenty of ways in which, even if we get back to zero, this bloody thing can sneak back in again and send us all back into yet another lockdown in a flash. Look at the 5th one caused by the removalist guys (who i believe may have since been banned from entering from NSW since). While I'm sure there are likely to be alot more going from the burbs out to regional and doing dumb things (eg wearing no masks & going inside public places / half masking etc), it also goes both ways. Nuckle heads don't just live inside a ring when it's in place!
  21. The Sparrow, Melk, JJ & Harmes flip flop 'undecided / NQR' ongoing debates to me are an indication we are still lacking some real silk at the moment through the middle. Something we need to try and rectify whether at the draft or trade table. For now we've got a bunch of ok to average players who might 'just' fill a role on a good day but unfortunately aren't quite capable of taking it to the level many feel will make a difference to the present team's fortunes most weeks.
  22. Apparently oven gloves/mitts are in very short supply HB
  23. Skinny wings down there Mr Old. If you can get an exemption, sitting at a seat in the outer on the wing would be as effective as a playing wingman i reckon.
  24. Could depend on how much sway the AFL/Broadcasters have over Dan & Co. Mr Old. As the old saying goes... Money talks, BS walks
  25. IN: May, Viney, Macca & Baker OUT: Smith, Sparrow, Melk & Gus* *Managed Viney to play a down & dirty lock on Selwood Harmes to run with and off Danger
