  1. Possibly for the longer shots from a fair way out but from what i witnessed behind the goals for two quarters, most of the misses came from players that were leaning back on their last step. Momentum killer with right leg tending to pivot around the left causing player to shank. Some misses no doubt caused by fatigue but for the most part i felt technique (mainly the leaning back) was a factor on many of our medium to short range shots, where not as much power's required. At least for those that are right footed.
  2. That was a guy in the row right in front of me (cheer squad). Was about to say "might be a bit early mate" But before i could blurt it out 100 others had caught on and Genie was out!
  3. The 'forward craft' started kicking in today for the first time at this level. Took a number of lead up outlet marks playing a high HF role then went back and clunked the gutsy overhead with oncoming from a high ball 30 meters out. Some great pressure including the tackle on Moore that wasn't a dangerous tackle. Ran hard and defended well pushing up to stand the mark and held up their transition a little on a few occasions. He could eventually become our version of a Mihocek type forward at some stage IF he can hold his form amd continue to take his chances. That match will do his confidence the world of good and those of his team mates in terms of looking to hit him up more often.
  4. Yes for Spargo. He's slow as since returning from the head knock Tempting though. Having said that, a goal each from Chandler and Kozzy this quarter might just get us the chocolates
  5. Serious rocket.... that shouldve happened after the first attempt. Max & Fritta need to have a word or Goodwin. How this hasn't been rubbed out of his game after 12 rounds is astounding and a real blight on the forward line coach.
  6. That is correct.... and why you dont have Spargo on the mark for any of his kick ins. ALL THE LITTLE THINGS!
  7. Bad kicking = bad footy Most of the misses (that made the distance) have shanked to the left. Instruction from here.... aim for the right hand post. P.S. can the Magpie army pls start chanting.... we might kick straighter (training background effects)
  8. Chandler or Kozzy takimg the mark on Nick's kick ins FCS. Spargo cant go with him
  9. Look inside as first option FCS..... instead last two kicks were down the line straight to Moore. Viney was free on the inside on that last one but again we played old style straight ahead footy there. Kozzy stop going for pack screamers it never works. Stay down for the crumbs. Spoilt a Maxy mark i one of those.
  10. Chandler, Kozzy & Grundy .... wow. Very tough winning with that sort of inaccuracy
  11. My kingdom for a key power CHF.... or Grundy to play there mostly
  12. Hunter two horrid kicks and 1 ordinary one for no advantage and 3 turnovers so far. Bring Rivers or McVee up to the wing pronto
  13. Will keep my ears peeled for something similar to this eminating from the filth throng...
  14. There was a d'lander by that name i believe?
  15. Possibly not as fine after today!
  16. This makes sense and something i spoke about a few days ago. An adjustment to the normal Melb way is worth a shot a la the Lions earlier in the year. Albeit their ground size may have helped here being shorter in length (6 meters) and width (2 meters). Possibly seeing a more aggressive zone & pressing up on the Pies in their faces plus an extra number around the ball. If we start playing a +1 down back, other than to ice a quarter or the match, i'll be worried. I also hope we play Grundy/Max, or a combo of those two, at traditional CHF or just back thereof by 5 meters or so. It's been the missing link up forward for mine so far this season (not always but far too often imv....too much experimenting with non-talls that usually have no impact). One of Kozzy or Chandler at their feet for the crumbs. Probably Chandler as he has a relatively decent hoof on him from further out. Playing the Tap bros or one around CHF will also leave room out the back for JVR & Fritta to work in. Kozzy and/or Spargo mopping up at their feet where possible. Both are usually more accurate within 35-40. I also hope we are going to look to change lanes coming into the forward line a fair bit in order to avoid the massively in form interceptor in Moore as often as possible. Where possible just look to avoid kicking it straight in to whoever he is playing off as he will often just pick those entries off. Kozzy to cover Nick when he kicks in.... handing over to ANB when he heads up the field out of 50 (BinMan's suggestion). Sparrow and late in game if needed (as sub) JJ to close check Pendles as much as possible. Too much clean ball from him and we're toast! Aside from that we'll need to see everyone at or near their best to get over the line today. Fingers crossed we have a bit of a day out in general and bring home the bacon. As supporters we will also need to bring our A game from the get go folks. Remember this is the filth we're playing. Even if you arent generally a chanter/yeller at the footy.... the boys are gonna need every ounce we can give today to counter the Magpie army! Carn the Mighty Demons!
  17. HTB in the Bombers goal square.... no call. 10 seconds later HTM paid which was debatable.... goal. Really hard to take this game seriously from a ruling POV What a circus & the umpiring fraternity are the fully fledged clowns this season. What are the teaching these guys and how are they overlooking so many obvious interpretations whilst paying less severe ones shortly after? Many of them momentum builders/killers. Having said that, the Blues are their own worst enemy. So many stressed faces coming off at half time. Whatever is happening with coach <> players certainly isn't making for a 'all for one one for all' environment for them of late. Sort of reminds me a tad of our MN years a tad. And shows in their accuracy for goal and/or shots falling short.
  18. My last one will be going down just before the bounce
  19. We have no idea whether there's any truth to these stories or not SU. Wouldn't believe anything that comes out of clubland and personally i haven't for decades now. And especially anything coming from the filth.
  20. 100%. Unfortunately they don't grow on trees & usually in strong demand. Petty might have to be the fill in for a bit. Tomo to stay in as the third tall if he can keep his form to a decent level & depending on match ups.
  21. They are all big outs from a Casey perspective Will be hard to cover all four. Buntine in particular with ball in hand & decision making mostly first class. Did someone say groin for Disco? Hope not.
  22. Fantastic.... still think he was / is good enough for AFL or should have been given the opp if he wanted it. Maybe some issues with pace but just speculation and who am i to judge anyway. Reckon he'd be right with Clarry & Viney in terms of G&T, white line fevour and never say die attitude. Love the niggle too. Onya Moose. Go get em son! Great to see Dunstan back too. Bad timing for him with the injury as that might have been a rare chance to come in for Clarry foregone. P.S. Sestan has some learnings & may need an extra pre-season for a bigger tank but love what he's bringing in small doses so far. Seems naturally gifted with a good footy brain. Could make a brute of a medium HF as well as a bit of time in the middle if he makes it.
  23. Freo soft and flakey as ever. Great win away against all odds. Bolton was brilliant for the most part. Nanks did ok. Cotchin, Short, Prestia (1st half) and Taranto vg also The umps did their best to try and win it for them.... should give at least 1 brownlow vote to themselves.
