Maynard must get at least four weeks
Yes that is also true but would depend on the club/player in question. Regardless no one knows who will be favoured and who wouldn’t so again, the act is now legal in the eyes of the AFL.

100%. Bar Viney the response was shizen. There's no other enforcers unfortunately

No it has to include the jump Kev assuming oppo player is in the act of / or has already completed the kick (just). The AFL has now comfirmed that provided you are 'making an attempt' to smother, you are entitled to protect yourself by tucking up on the way down and leading with either shoulder. This is now acceptable and how you protect yourself from an oncoming likely collision. The consequence of doing so is now a moot point that no player needs to concern themselves with. Just throw the arms in the air then tuck straight afterwards and shoulder away. Every kicker is now fair game.

As long as they jump in the air first feigning a smother / spoil Kev.... then yes

Not in a corrupt AFL it doesn't Jaded. It's a circus that's very massaged and controlled towards producing preferred outcomes and results as we are about to witness (again... Crippa brownlow, Barry Hall...Premiership!)

Replace Michael Christian Now
Ha she might have to if they leave MC there. The fact that one man has so much say and is an ex player of any of the clubs tells me everything i need to know about the sham & circus that is the AFL. Alot easier to influence / coerce one person than it is to do so with a number of them on a panel. Should be at least three or even five panel members and none of them should be ex players or people who have had career long appointments at a club. Needs to be an odd number so they can reach a majority decision. Ex umpires might be the go.

Replace Michael Christian Now
I'm surprised you're asking that Macca I would suggest that's a Gil appointment and we need to keep in mind the close relationship that Eddie has had with Gil, at least until he stepped away. Hopefully not so much any more but i wouldn't put any sort of wager on it. Gil may have grown the game but he's also leaving a very dodgy legacy behind him in a tribunal / MRO sense.

Replace Michael Christian Now
This is 100% correct ... everything the AFL has done (until now) does not happen without the almighty $$ / ratings, ensuring the biggest crowds (etc) coming into play. And the biggest clubs will certainly almost always be the beneficiaries. The filth obviously the biggest of the lot. We're about to find out how much clout Laura has OR does the old guard boys club still hold the upper hand? I'm leaning towards the latter and they will massage this as they always do. Two weeks today, reduced to one on Thursday's appeal.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
Agreed. The circus masters are gathering and concocting. The snake oil's already being plied by the magician's assistants (media cronies and probably Eddie behind the scenes!) The culprit asked to visit the victim as a staged show of remorse. The ultimate magic trick will then be unleashed on Thurs at the appeal which will see Mayfart free to play in a GF (should they make it)...

Maynard must get at least four weeks
Nothing's off the table when it comes to filth supporters. A couple of classics i heard on SEN when they first called in prior to turning it off... "Gus shouldn't even be playing given his history of concussion" "He took a step to the right which caused him to run into Maynard's shoulder. Not maynard's fault" "Why didn't he baulk and just go around or avoid Maynard!??"

Any word on Angus?
Sadly i think you are wasting your breath with any of the nuffies at SEN PD Most of whom have seemingly jumped on the "nothing to see here" / "will be let off" / "if he didnt have prior history of concussion things might have been different" bandwagon. Yes a stupid SEN host actually said that about Gus's concussion hostory. Effectively his own prior concussions are an inconvenient burden on Mayfart's defence! After listening for 10 minutes or so on Friday morning i killed the stream and have vowed to never listen to them again. The same can be said of most of the other print and TV media. In many cases most are probably too scared to push the "has to get weeks" case in fear of retribution from the AFL.

Michael Hibberd Hanging Up the Boots
Thanks SD. Nicely put. Well it ain't very often that this old fart sheds a footy tear. Think the last time was the flag (tears of joy) and before that watching Tulip leave the ground injured in the 87 prelim, knowing it was his last hoorah. But yep, that's what watching one of the great defenders announce his retirement does. I can't speak highly enough off Hibbo. A player who not only gave his all every time he stepped out at AFL level but who did the same at Casey. Gave the impression from the outside (and in the huddles at Casey) of a quiet, no nonsense achiever. The energy and chemisty he must have brought to the group. Something beyond measure i would think. No doubt a tough day for all in the four walls. No wonder the playing group looked a little flat at the open session today (according to a number who attended anyway). There are good players, great players. But there are also fabulous characters that come in to a club and appear to make a huge impact on their fellow team mates. Not just on the field either, but through the spirit they bring and their general demeanour. Full respect for hibbo. Will never forget his mad run with cup in hand in 21. I couldn't stop smiling and laughing. Thanks for the cup and your amazing contribution. Long may you run son, long may you run...

TRAINING: Sunday 9th September 2023
I suspect it comes back to this particular open session not being compulsory FR. Veterans probably one group who aren't required to attend. They might be assigned other recovery tasks?

Not much i wouldn't think. His last few weeks at Casey were horrid and he looked disinterested. I'm still stunned that we re-signed him tbh.

That's spot on. I believe this session would be optional for those who are recovering from severe knocks, niggles or players like Clarry who've just returned from a long lay off. This session is more of light run to iron out any cobwebs and or work on a few light drills here and there. And yes the PR stuff afterwards. The real stuff hap at Casey and obviously mandatory to make the cut.
