  1. A blatant throw in the goalsquare .... four umps.... no one calls it.
  2. Another over the shoulder ruck contest against LJ not called
  3. After losing to a bottom four club coming back from a big loss in Adelaide i can assure you.... he now knows it's an issue.
  4. The Tigers showing that if you play close checking, strong over the ball footy, play on quickly with forward HBs plus some decent run you will beat this mob convincingly. Soft as butter and we allowed them to beat us on our home deck with no Walters and a ruckman down for most of the last half 😮‍💨
  5. Would usually have been up by now. 5.30 - 6 ish
  6. This was No.1 on my Disney Wish List for this week onwards (and in reality has been for weeks now)... 1. For CB / 666...(and also in a general sense) Please start Gawn / Grundy or whoever is playing as a KF alongside Roohey at or around the more true CHF position. Not 25 - 30 meters out from goals or in the goal square alongside Roohey!??? How often have i watched a bail out kick from the middle under pressure dumped to the true CHF area only only to see the likes of Kozzy, Spargo, ANB or even Harmes on one or two occasions trying to take a contested mark in vain. And / or no one there... and the oppo runs into the space for the easy intercept & rebound. Gawn / Grundy (and/or Schache, BB or Macca when fit) can also present from there on lateral leads across the arc or just back of it as a moving mobile target instead of straight lining at the ball carrier, which is often easier for the KBs to defend. I'm not even expecting a hit up lead around here.... just someone who can stand and clunk the odd mark but mostly get the ball to ground to one of our smalls. Instead our smalls and small/mediums are attempting to play the role of a big CHF at times. Other times its the invisible man! Crazy stuff imv.
  7. So an entire season of watching this game being turned into a complete fiasco every week before we might start seeing some decent umpiring? You beauty Newc!
  8. Not sure how he keeps getting a game lately. BT talking up his 6 tackles
  9. Would rather get Treloar. Exactly what we need in the middle.
  10. Port CORRIDOR Power!
  11. Bergman caught plus incorrect disposal.... "play on" ... hilarious
  12. Blow me down with a feather... all commentators piled on about HTB there!! Maybe theyve decided if they all say it together they can't all be warned or contract renewals threatened! 😄
  13. I must not have concentrated very well in biology. I didn't realise the shoulder was the back
  14. I believe the final KB teams are usually released around 5pm - 5.50pm on a Saturday DZ but don't hold me to that
  15. Schache would be lucky to take 5%-10% as a pinch hitter from his 90% forward role i would think MM. Just a different look and would allow Grundy/Gawn a small break on the bench. Might have given the impression i was saying he could take on a ruck type role but certainly not suggesting that if he were to come in. I doubt he will anyway.
  16. Yes and most likely they would've trained for it in the week of the lead up W11. It would be kind of strange if others didn't use that match as the blue print and at least attempt some aspects of it. Which means going away from your usual style / set-ups somewhat. They've beaten us the last few times trying to play the Melbourne way. Might be time for us to change up a little.
  17. Yep I would add Brown (or even Scache) in for Joel. Scache can also handle some ruck work in the middle and down forward. Not bad at ground level either. Need a KTF lead up to take the heat off JVR and let him roam closer to goal. Even if Brown or Scache played mostly as a decoy here. Moore on JVR would be a poor match up for JVR at this early stage and as much as i would love Joel to get another chance, aside from a few contests and tackles, he had very little influence/impact as a 2nd tall forward last week from what i witnessed.
  18. Taj is no doubt on track DS but is KB the right game for his debut? I always have nightmares with what we did to JW on his first. That's no slight on Taj but it's a huge occasion with heaps of phyiscality. Most AFL H&A games are but another 6 months or so in the gym would serve him well i feel. Aside from that i have no doubt he'll be trialled in the zippy outsider role at some point in the near future. Signs are very good since he returned from the finger prob. Just a matter of time and timing.
  19. My take on his comment about "dialling up forward pressure" was initially along your lines of thinking DF. He did mention separate to that "smalls pressuring inside 50" which isn't rocket science for sure. However, after listenting back to it again the main point he was trying to say after his comment about 'smalls pressuring inside 50' was different to that. He was talking in terms of "forward (frontal) pressure" at the ball carrier. No retreating/racing back to defensive 50 "Keep coming forward and getting in their grill" (face). I thought his points re: Max behind the ball to assist Lever & May, Grundy going to Moore, Maxy taking over the alpha role with more time in the middle and ruck in general (vs Grundy) were worthy of consideration and may have some merit. I'm certainly not suggesting he has all the answers to what Goody should do on KB but imho it's a good opportunity to hear from someone who's coached at the highest level and been in the system for many years at various clubs. Also he has to be across about 3 to 4 games for this SEN session so he probably can't get into crazy depth vs if he was analysing one match alone.
  20. Some things were meant to be YTD. I'm of the same thinking here that this might be a bullet dodged and also allows him to come back with no soreness & cherry ripe.
  21. Surely JJ is in before either SPC.... Taj coming along nicely though but might need another pre-season in the gym to withstand the rigours. I would also have Dunstan in before either of those two at this point (specifically for Clarry's role) but he probably needs a game or two at Casey to get fit.
  22. *On averages i meant, not total, where he is of course no.1
  23. A few sore knuckles?
  24. Yep the build up was pretty big. Was expecting an MMA style blood bath but it was more like watching one of Big Bad Barry's attempts to enter the ring. A number of glancing blows but not many connected. The reality didn't quite hit the heights of the hype.
