  1. Long live the King
  2. Super reliable, always giving their all. Have both given amazing service. Some great posts on here that have it covered already. Congrats and hope we get to see another 50 from the big man. Team needs to lift for these two on Sunday.
  3. At least 5 marks inside 50 in the third by the Giants. 5 set shots at goal (maybe more) for no goals.
  4. How is Stringer still getting a game? One trick mark, roll out and kick deep up and unders or ping at goal pony and offers no other attributes. Looks overweight and unfit at this level
  5. Claz a VG first half. The second pretty shabby and zero defensive pressure on opponents. Looks to be a fair way off the pace after HT for mine
  6. Looked a fair way off AFL level in the hit out against the Dogs
  7. All good Mr Leg. You seem a bit more confident than myself here. What if the media skuttlebutt ends up being accurate and the MRC refuses to budge on the reno which will supposedly shut down the track for 12 months? Ie; the MRC doesn't want to close up shop and that's the end of our bid. Potentially we'll have nothing to show after how many years working on this proposal? Let alone the others that fell through prior.
  8. We are in agreement re where he would likely be at had he continued this season Dub
  9. Two matches in a row pretty much over at quarter time. Scintillating stuff from the AFL and another team on the way about to spread the talent even thinner.
  10. We were never getting the 22 version of May back in a full time sense once 2023 commenced Dub but he was still able to produce the best version of himself on occasions somewhere through 2024 imv. To say we could just go out and find a like for like replacement is very nice banter (and i'm not suggesting this is what you are inferring) but no serious football punter genuinely believes in such fairy tales surely? May at his best was a generational talent for us and the best we can hope for is something akin to his best. Turner will grow into his role and should improve as the years pass but i'm not expecting him to get to the heady heights that May produced on a consistent basis anyway. Hopefully we can find another seriously good intercept Marshall / enforcer down back to support the likes of Disco at some point in the near future but i'm not holding my breath.
  11. Yep I don't have the faith that some appear to have in the development and 'coming on' of potential mids like Langdon, Riv, Kolt & Leb. From those four i can potentially see Kolt developing into a first use clearance player after another pre-season or so in the gym + experience IF the brains trust sees him in such a role vs his present run-with HHF type assignments. Culley is another that i hold very slim hopes for through the middle but so far he looks a long way off. Don't confuse that with me writing him off though. Displays genuine abilities as a likely winger drifting forward who can take big grabs and score on occasions. If he builds a serious AFL tank and works alot harder in his ability to get from contest to contest and improve his craft there also, then he might become a decent asset around stoppages. Steele's a handy pick up but it's too much to ask from one player in a brute 'inside' clearance sense. Yes Vines will come back at some point but too late for 2026 and well past his peak now. We're easily another three quality mid rotations away from being competitive IMV. And where are they coming from in the near term? Tassie coming into the mix also mucks us (and others) here.
  12. We need to find a first use beast and fast to replace Vines and to a lessor degree Claz (the pre-23 version). Obviously they don't grow on trees. Not that you would have him in all that often but surely Tom Campbell was a fairlu likely 'IN' last night if fit? How far off is he is wonder? Track watchers?
  13. Great summary but also .... > No ability to lock down once they got a run on with either ... > A much tighter zone and pushing up in the face of the receiver; and/or > Short period of super tight man on man / back of shoulder pressure through the middle and HF to force the turnover/ lock it in / win back possession. > Attack on the loose ball and tackles in general... way too soft / ineffective. They just went harder more often and longer > They spread and ran harder for longer and hit up easy loose players by hand and foot most of the night. > As you aluded to already, someone needed to go with Bolton after HT. Ridiculous that he was allowed so much space for the entire match. Also no system or method tonight, especially coming i50. Complete dog's breakfast vs last week. Freeo's pressure and closing down speed up a fair notch vs the Saints. We had the yips and fumbles all nighT plus the 'Stupids'. Starting with Rooh,'s silly HB attempt to Koz and Petty's horror HB at the end of the 2nd Q. Both of which resulted in a turnover goal and in the case of Petty, killed the half decent come back and momentum we were building to that point.
  14. Do we have one that's ready?
  15. It just has to be sweaty and we struggle Woeful and nowhere near the level. Unfortunately there's nothing at Casey. Bring May outta retirement?
  16. When you're getting towelled up this badly and from so early the first correction needs to come at the coal face.... WINNING CONTESTED. We failed badly in this aspect tonight. If we can't bring that basic aspect to our game we're in for a VERY long season.
  17. They have been much stronger over the ball all night apart from when we had a bit of possession play in the 2nd
  18. Whenever the conditions are greasy / slippery we struggle big time
  19. Entries in to the F50 ...mostly back to baing ordinary tonight. Bombs and no separation leads. Absolute trash forward of 50
  20. Other than Steele and Koz (when on) the other mids have had zero impact tonight so far
  21. Couple of times. One OOTF
  22. Lingers playing a HHF role? Jeepers
  23. A week's a long time in footy
  24. Again... shld be man on man once they got the first two goals. Petty is a mile off the pace and his man. Early days but him & Rick look a long way off AFL standards ATM.
  25. As good as CJ was last week, he's been pretty ordinary tonight.
