Jaded No More

Really great effort given the circumstances most people are currently facing. Thank you to everyone who has donated. Makes me feel less guilty that I can't justify adding to the tally right now.

I don't mind this. Pretty like for like, and with Martin out and the wet weather predicted, we were going to be too top heavy with Tmac as well.

I'm not unhappy about this, with apologies to our Tassie fans. But it was an unfair game and we should not be subjected to playing Norf in Tassie given how much upheaval we have already endured this season, and given we will most likely forgo a bye to play the Essendon game. Fingers crossed this game gets played in QLD, or even NT will do me fine.

I'm just impressed the guy played for 3 quarters with a fractured face.

I am interested to see what we do with Neale. Does he get a Harmes tag? Do we put Trac head to head with him? Intriguing stuff.

Massive blow for the Lions with Martin out. Could potentially see Jackson dropped which would be a real shame.

I assume you don't live in Victoria. Because my first thought was, great, 20 minutes more on the couch.

At this stage we are extremely lucky on two fronts. The first is that we have a relatively small injury list. The second is that our fitness manager happens to have a soccer background, especially EPL, where short breaks between games is a given.

And yet I can't hear half the questions at the daily Andrews press conference. Although I can predict 90% of them anyway now.

Could be a blessing in disguise. He and Bennell would be the two players most at risk of re-injury during this 4 games in 14 minutes the AFL is trying to cram in. He has two weeks off and comes back in fresh and ready to kill more opponents.

I hate Norf but I’m all for improving our lost. I’ll be fine with Brown if we don’t overpay.

It’s a sick joke that we’ve just moved from Sydney to Queensland then we need to go to Adelaide and Tassie on the short break. Really this draw has been awful for us. I want to see how many other teams are traveling over their very short breaks.

Just be glad you're allowed out of your house. HAHAHAHA fat chance. They are having an increase in numbers as we speak. Tell them they're dreaming.

To be honest, if the players are happy, that is all that matters. I am sure if there were options up to grabs, they would have spoken to the leadership team and asked them to discuss the options with the players and decide which location they preferred. If as someone mentioned they can have their own apartments rather than staying in hotel rooms, you would definitely take that, especially for those with small kids /babies. If you're going to live out of a suitcase for a long period of time, having extra space, bedrooms, a proper kitchen etc would definitely be a plus. Also note that some players have school aged kids who need to do remote learning, so the bigger space would definitely be a plus.

Knock on wood, but gees injury list is looking good compared to the last few years. Now I've probably gone and jinxed it.

Just terrible.

I want to know what Harmes' role was yesterday before I make judgements. I may be wrong but I think he was playing on Smith, who regularly destroys us. If so, he did an excellent job as Smith was basically invisible. He also appeared to play a little more forward, which I don't mind, but of course that will lower his stats. Wouldn't pay too much attention to the free kicks. There were some pretty soft ones paid the Hawks way. Can't blow air on them without it being a free. Gawn was absolutely immense yesterday. At one point my husband said 'I don't know why they bother playing someone on him, just give it up'. Next minute the umpire is yelling 'no Hawks ruck', Gawn takes the ball out of the backline all on his own. It's like they knew.

How can you drop Jackson after today?

No change I don’t think. Unless we know we are about to get slammed with matches and need to rest some players.

Finally a four quarter effort. And the structural changes with a second tall forward and a second true tall defender has completely changed our game. It was a no brainer and I’m glad finally they’ve figured it out. Jackson being so mobile actually makes us look better than Tmac because he is good at ground level. I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing him and Weid getting the next 3-4 weeks together to see how things develop. Jackson can also more than hold his own in the ruck which is very important as it allows Gawn more time to play in the defensive half where he dominates. Omac has been wonderful the last two weeks and I hope all the haters can finally get over their biased opinions against him.

Gunston. I swear he just loves to play us. Oh well. We smashed them.

Weideman just needs confidence and continuity. He has a lot of the hallmarks of a wonderful player.

Why Weideman hasn’t played until last week is an absolute mystery.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched Melbourne play Hawthorn where Gunston hasn’t been good. It’s just really baffling.

Given we are playing the best team in the comp next week, we need to take a big win.
