  1. In the rooms after the game he looked ok. He removed the ice pack and was stretching. He did however have an awkwardly placed ice-pack on his groin, but I'm sure that that's just a standard post-game recovery thing.
  2. It will give me some much needed pleasure to talk about these 3. Sylvia was very good. Of course, some people who don't understand the game will look at this stats and say he was ordinary. But he kicked 3 goals, from the most limited of opportunities. Everytime the ball came his way, he made something happen. Marked strongly, and kicked truly. A great game from him. Went off in the last and had his hammy iced, but they showed him later on in the rooms and he looked fine. Jones was also good. Ran with Kerr for a little while and I thought did a good job. He is a goer, and he is incredibly strong. The benefit of having McLean by his side will be huge. Belly was good as well. Played on a number of players, including Staker, who was far too tall for him, but did a good job regardless. Yet again, he was accountable, strong, gave good drive and made just one blooper from what I can remember. Also, TJ was excellent.
  3. For anyone who has Foxtel active, they may have caught the close up of Jeff White after the game. He bleeds for this club, and he looked very hurt and sat there for a good 5 minutes just reflecting. He isn't a top ruckman anymore, but he has carried us for years and I'm sure it hurts him to realise that he'll most likely retire without a premiership. Every good career comes to an end at some stage. We can't expect him to keep going forever.
  4. We can only dream of 2 more Brock McLeans. You having a dig at arguably our best player, just undermines your opinion.
  5. Sylvia has his thigh iced and is limping... I don't think I should say anymore or I might have to ban myself for swearing.
  6. Chris Judd... well done son for ripping your beloved Melbourne apart. Dear god he is unbelievable!
  7. CJ in for Brown, who has done nothing today.
  8. Cameron Bruce is having a filthy game. Absolutely filthy.
  9. TJ is having a good game, so is Sylvia, Bell and Jonesy is doing reasonably well on Kerr. That's something I guess. P.S.- Lynch, yet another dud forward who enjoys ripping Melbourne a new one.
  10. Jones doing an admirable job on Kerr. Am I clutching at straws here?
  11. Frawley to debut next week. No Rivers, no backline. Put Miller in defence! He's had 4 touches so far up forward.
  12. I agree that one of those have to go. Green won't have much value in the market, so he may as well stay. Which leaves Bruce, who is overrated by the whole competition and will therefore attract a very good price, and TJ who we know is hot and cold and brilliant in flashes. Someone will have to go, and we must chase one of the big names coming out of contract, with Judd being our main priority.
  13. Bit harsh there. But here is the problem, Daniher is giving him jobs that just don't suit him, especially when the rest of the side is getting smashed. I want to see something different, and the best Daniher can do, is put Whelan in the midfield, where he will no doubt pull a hamstring again. There better be a serious re-shuffle of positions at half time. The lack of vision from the coaching staff never stops astounding me.
  14. WHY ISN'T ANYONE STANDING NEAR THEIR OPPONENT? What is Neale Daniher doing to stop this? Put Miller down back, or Dunn as loose-man. Push Belly into the middle. Just do something!
  15. I'm pretty sure they said Petterd and that he had his ankle re-strapped. This is a joke. We look like under 9's.
  16. Early final- margin predictions: 99 points.
  17. Well, this is officially the worst quarter I have ever seen this team play. Now let me put this to you, Daniher drops Warnock and Holland and brings in Ferguson. Ferguson can only play on one type of player, Hunter, and even then, he struggles. So when Ferguson gets smashed from the first bounce, and so does Carroll, we are left with no alternatives and we can't shuffle the backline. If Holland played, he could take Lynch and equal him in strength, and Carroll could play on Hunter. What was the logic behind bringing in Ferguson out of nowhere, I don't know. He was never an AFL player, and this should be his last game in a Melbourne jumper. Of course, this is hardly the reason we are getting smashed. The fact that we can't win a clearances, man-up or hit a target is the real reason. May god have mercy on us.... this is going to end in tears.
  18. Actually, most experts agree that we are the best side to ever go 0-7. Nobody rates us as being equal to Richmond, or deserving of a bottom 2 spot. The thing is, if we do finish bottom 4, earn a good draft pick (or Judd) and then rise again next year, the joke will be on everyone else.
  19. Just watching the pre-game show on Foxtel, and there are no changes to the selected 22. Petterd, Wheels, Cox and Fletcher will all play.
  20. We won't be able to determine who is a better play for a few years yet, but one thing is certain, the only reason Alwyn is playing AFL is because of his brother. He is a 22 year old second round draft pick, which is rare. If our footy club didn't take a chance on Davey, and he didn't burst onto the scene with his pace and his defensive pressure, nobody would look twice at Alwyn.
  21. If we beat Collingwood, Richmond, Essendon and Carlton I'll be thrilled. The other games are 50-50 at best, and the result will once again depend on the length of our injury list.
  22. I'm disgustingly confident.... ..... so expect to lose by 10 goals
  23. Frawley will debut next. The fact that Rivers is injured and that we are now resorting to playing Ferguson at CHB is enough of an indication that we are desperate for another decent key defender. I wouldn't be surprised if he debuts next week, should Rivers be unavailable for selection again.
  24. Thanks for the reports everyone. Glad to hear Robbo and Pickett played well, although what do you expected, they are far too good for this level. Very worried about Brock still limping... surely not! Newton swearing at an experienced senior player is not great but it shows passion, and he clearly has enough talent to play AFL. Hopefully he gets himself mentally right as well, because that is just as important as having the right skills. I'm confident he'll play a few AFL games this year, and hopefully we sign him up for another 2 years before the season is finished.
